Martins Viper Insecticide Concentrate is designed more for outside surfaces and around buildings. Talstar P would be a better treatment indoors. We do not recommend that you mix the Martins Viper with the Talstar P as there would be nothing to gain by mixing these products together. Making a pesticide too strong can actually backfire. Areas that are treated with this overly concentrated spray will be repellent and insects will simply avoid the treated areas prolonging the infestation.
Martins Viper Insecticide Concentrate will have a shelf life of typically 3-5 years if stored properly in a temperature-stable environment and out of direct sunlight.
Martins Viper Insecticide Concentrate is safe from rainfall or irrigation 24 hours after application.
Martins Viper Insecticide Concentrate contains cypermethrin as the active ingredient, which is a powerful pyrethroid. This active ingredient will kill the ants that you spray directly with it, as well as ants that contact the treated area after it's dry. Viper will NOT work slowly enough to be carried throughout an ant colony; it attacks the central nervous system of the insects and works relatively quickly. For a non-repellent (slow-kill) application for ants, we would recommend Arilon Insecticide (for use both inside and outside), or Taurus SC (outdoors only).
Martins Viper Insecticide Concentrate is labeled for ants, but not fire ants specifically. When treating for fire ants we would recommend a product like Martins Surrender Fire Ant Killer instead which you use to treat the individual mounds themselves. If you need a product that you can broadcast over a large area we would recommend the Extinguish Plus Fire Ant Bait.

If you have a large amount of unused product or old product, we recommend that you contact your local city or county sanitation department for proper disposal instructions in your area as they can vary.
Martins Viper Insecticide Concentrate will kill those fleas that are sprayed directly during application faster than those that contact a dried treated surface but is not considered a contact kill. It can take a few minutes to a few hours to kill an insect.
Martins Viper Insecticide is labeled for spiders, however it does not specifically name black widow spiders. If you’re looking for a product that’s label specifies black widows, Bifen IT lists black widows, brown recluse and hobo spiders specifically.
How long Martins Viper Insecticide Concentrate takes to dry can vary depending on factors like how heavily it was applied and the humidity level in the area. In general, it will take a couple of hours to dry completely outside and about an hour inside.
Martins Viper Insecticide Concentrate is safe when used as directed. It should only be applied to cracks and crevices and birds should be removed from the treated area for several hours after application to ensure no harm.
Martins Viper Insecticide Concentrate should not be applied to misting systems. One 1/2 gallon of Vector-Ban Plus makes 55 gallons when mixed with water as the label directs. Can be used in mosquito misting systems. Please refer to our treatment articles on How to Get Rid of Spiders, How to Get Rid of Wasps and How to Get Rid of Mosquitoes for a successful program around the home.
