  • Asked by Teri from Carthage, Tn
    03/18/2021
    Q
Will Martins Viper Insecticide get rid of stink bugs?
I am in TN and they are everywhere.
    A

Yes, the Viper Insecticide will work well to kill and control stink bugs. You will need to apply in late summer and fall before the insects have entered the home for best results. It may be necessary to incorporate an insecticide dust application to exterior wall voids, attics, and/or crawlspace to prevent these insects from overwintering and surviving the winter inside of your home. We would recommend the Cimexa Dust for this type of treatment in conjunction with the Viper Insecticide to provide complete protection and control.

Please take a few moments to review our DIY guide here for stink bug inspection, control, and prevention.

  • Asked by Melissa from Como
    06/24/2021
    Q
What if Martins Viper Insecticide application is not dry, will it hurt my dogs?
    A

As long as you keep pets/children out of the area while you treat and until the product has had time to completely dry or settle it is safe for pets and people to return and resume normal activity, this is typically after 4-6 hours outside, 1 hour inside.

If you have concerns that your pet has contacted a Martins Viper Insecticide treated area while still wet, it is best to contact your vet.  They may ask for the SDS (Safety Data Sheet), which you can also review.

    Q
Will Martins Viper Insecticide kill ornamental plants?
    A

Martins Viper Insecticide Concentrate can be applied around ornamentals and landscaped areas as well as lawns. Do not spray directly on flowers as it could cause damage. Please be sure to review the product label for more information and complete application instructions. Martins Viper Insecticide Concentrate is designed more for outside surfaces and around buildings. Talstar P would be a better treatment for insects on ornamental plants. You may view the product label for Talstar P here.

    Q
Can Martins Viper Insecticide be applied to vinyl siding for perimeter insect control?
With my front porch lights on, the bugs are horrible. I'll have to find another way of lighting my yard if I can't get these bugs under control.
    A

Martins Viper Insecticide should dry clear when used as directed on the product label.  That being said it does contain petroleum distillates so can leave an oily sheen behind so we would recommend doing a small test area to ensure the product will not stain.

Onslaught Insecticide would be an alternative for outdoor perimeter pest control that is water based and will not stain or disoclor surfaces.

  • Asked by Brian from Largo, Fl
    10/03/2021
    Q
Would insects build tolerance to Martins Viper? Should different insecticides be used occasionally?
    A

It is possible that after using the same active ingredient in a product over long periods of time could possibly cause resistance issues. This is not a for sure thing that will happen, and if it does, there is not a specific time frame. To prevent the possibilities of resistance issues, you could rotate the Viper Insecticide with another product that contains a different active ingredient as long as you are following the instructions on the product labels every few years

  • Asked by Cheyenne from Paul's Valley
    10/05/2021
    Q
Can Martins Viper Insecticde be tank mixed with Martin's Permethrin?
    A

No, you should not mix Martins Viper Insecticide with another insecticide such as Martins Permethrin.

There is no valid reason to mix 2 residual insecticides together, it would not make either product work better or produce better results, though it could make treated areas repellent to insects lessening the effectiveness of the treatment as they do need to contact areas for the product to work.
