Product Overview

Mattress Safe's Stretch Knit Box Spring Encasement is a bed bug certified encasement that has the "Zipper with the Hook". The "Zipper with the Hook" was patented for Mattress Safe products to not allow bed bugs to enter or escape. This encasement has a breathable knit fabric that is soft to the touch. It is bed bug certified, which means that it was tested by board certified entomologists and  is certified to protect against dust mites and bed bugs. Bed bugs cannot pass through this fabric. Having this encasement will prevent bed bugs infestations from starting. This will help save money in the long run by not having to replace a mattress and box springs due to bed bugs. Works especially well with Mattress Safe's Sofcover Ultimate Total Mattress Encasement.

NOTE: For Cal King, if you have a split box spring set, you will need to order 2 Cal twin plus+ encasements. For King, if you have a split box spring set, you will need to order 2 twin plus+ encasements.

Properly Installing Your Mattress and Box Spring:

Installation Only Takes a Few Easy Steps:

  • Installation should be done with a partner - Installing alone can stress the zipper end stops on each side.
  • Starting at the head of the bed, unzip the encasement and gather the fabric to locate the bottom two end corners.
  • Together with a partner, lift each side of the end of the mattress and rest it on your knee.
  • Align and apply the end corners first to the end of the mattress on each side.
  • Carefully slide the encasement, inch by inch, down the length of the mattress, avoiding stress on the zipper end stop.
  • Align the corners of the cover with the corners of the mattress.
  • Zip the cover all around the mattress and lock the “Zipper with the Hook”.
  • Repeat these instructions for the box spring encasement (or you may lift the box spring to stand on its end and the encasement may be pulled down the length of the box spring).

Properly Measuring Your Mattress

It is important to properly measure your mattress and box spring. Mattress encasements are not returnable. Please use the following guidelines to measure correctly.

Depth

Determine the Depth of the Mattress and Box Spring

  • Using a tape measure, determine the height, in inches, of the mattress.
  • To measure the height of the mattress, measure from the bottom, where it rests on the box spring, to the top of the mattress including any pillow top.
  • Repeat for the box spring.

Length

Determine the Size of the Mattress and Box Spring

Determine the length

  • Measure the length, in inches, from the head of the mattress to the foot of the mattress.
  • Repeat for the box spring.

Determine the width

  • Measure the width, in inches, of the mattress from side to side.
  • Repeat for the box spring.

King Box Spring come in either 1 complete piece or 2 long twin pieces. Please check your box spring before ordering the encasement.

    Measure fit

    By John on 09/14/2016

Verify measurements, because if it is listed for a span... it will be baggy cause it is cut for the larger size

Q
My box spring measures 77-1/2"L x 53"W x 7-1/2" thick. Will the "full plus" size Mattress Safe Stretch Knit Box Spring Encasement be baggy on it, or is the material stretchy enough to hug the box spring snugly?
A

The full plus size of the Mattress Safe Stretch Knit Box Spring Encasement would be the one you need to use and would fit fine, it measures 75-80" x 54" x 9" .

Q
Is the Mattress Safe Stretch Knit Box Spring Encasement safe for Memory Foam mattresses?

I've read that because of their higher density that mattresses made of foam (almost all of the bed-in-a-box mattresses) are prone to mold if the movement of air over any of the surfaces is restricted. I know this says it's breathable but do you know if it's recommended for mattresses made solely of foam and won't cause mold to begin to grow in the foam?

A

Mattress Safe Stretch Knit Box Spring Encasement does have breathable material. We have not had any reports that it causes mold within the mattress.
