    Will Maxforce Complete Granular Bait eliminate leaf cutter ants but not effect the Tarantulas?
    I've got several mounds of ants over my 1/2 acre property in Tucson. I also have several Tarantula on my property, which I like because they eat scorpions, etc. So, my primary concern is get rid of the ants (leaf cutter mainly) and keep my tarantulas.

    Maxforce Complete Granular Bait could pose harm to Tarantulas should they come in contact with the treated area. It has proven somewhat effective on Leaf Cutters.  Deltagard granules are labeled for leaf cutter ants. The product label recommends treating the mound directly and lightly watering the granules in. Again it may take several treatments to get the desired results. We also recommend contacting your local cooperative extension office to see if they have any recommendations for products that have worked for other people in your region.

    What product can I use to get rid of cut ants? I have used several products already with no success.
    The ant bed is about 8 ft.

    Leaf cutter ants can be a difficult pest to get rid of. The colonies are large and the ants make their own food, so poison baits only have limited effects on this species of ants. According to several university websites Maxforce Ant Bait Granules containing hydramethylnon are some what effective, though they will usually eliminate only about 30% of a large colony in one treatment and will need to be reapplied several times.  Deltagard granules is one of the only products actually labeled for leaf cutter ants. The product label recommends treating the mound directly and lightly watering the granules in. Again, it may take several treatments to get the desired results. We also recommend contacting your local cooperative extension office to see if they have any recommendations for products that have worked for other people in your region.

    Will Maxforce Complete Granular Bait harm bees?
    A

    Maxforce Complete Granular Bait can be toxic to bees. We do offer Mavrick which is non toxic to honey bees once dry.

    How does rain affect the Maxforce Granular Bait?
    A

    Rain can cause the Maxforce Complete Granular Bait to wash away or get moldy over time, which makes it less attractive. We do recommend re-applying the bait after a heavy rain.

    Is Maxforce Granular Bait safe to use around pets and fruit tree?
    I have a small backyard with lots of ants. They tend to be concentrated around my orange tree and chili plants. This is the same area which our small dog roams around in. I have tried several bait stations over several months with no success. 1) Is this product safe to use around the orange tree and chili plants? I would, of course, follow directions of sprinkling the recommended dosage in 1-2 feet wide bands. 2) Is this product safe around our small dog?

    Maxforce Complete Granular Bait can be applied outside the drip line of fruit trees. This is safe for pets when applied as directed. It is such a small amount of active ingredient it should not harm pets.

    Can Maxforce Complete Granular Bait be used indoors inside bait stations for 1/8th inch very dark brown to black ants? These ants swarm from under baseboards onto carpeted areas.
    Will MaxForce granular work in indoor bait stations? We have approx, 1/8th inch very dark brown to black ants that swarm from under baseboards onto carpeted areas. As a kid we used to call them either sugar ants or piss ants. Would like to use bait stations around small indoor dogs. Recommendation?

    Yes, Maxforce Complete Granular Bait is labeled to be used for a variety of species of ants and will work great in the Bait Plate Stations for indoor use. These Bait Plate Stations allows insects to access both a granule bait and gel bait in one station for their dietary needs.  

    Maxforce Complete Granular Bait is safe for pets when applied as directed. In addition to treating indoors, Maxforce Complete Brand Granular Insect Bait may be sprinkled around structures and/or applied to refillable/serviceable bait stations as outlined below. Be sure to treat areas where target insects have been observed such as porches, patios, driveways, sidewalks, flower gardens, landscape timbers and around trees, wood piles, air conditioning units and garbage receptacles. I've provided the link to the recommend bait stations below. 

    Please review our Ant Identification Guide for information on how to identify the specific any species you have. Using a residual spray both inside the home as well as the exterior foundation of the home would also be a good addition to an Ant Treatment Program.

    Can I use Maxforce Complete Granular Bait in the garden?
    This has worked well in my yard but I also have a lot of ants in my garden. Can I use it there as long as I don't sprinkle it on the plants?

    You can use the Maxforce Complete Granular Bait in a bait station in the garden or you can sprinkle the granules around the exterior of the garden.

    I want to do some preventative work to my home in FL. I already have Termidor SC in my cart to do some preventive termite work outside as well, but i want to protect/prevent our attic, and some areas of the house. I was thinking these granulates could do the work?

    No, Maxforce Complete Granular is not labeled for termites at all. When applied in a trench, Termidor SC would last up to 10 years in the soil. For treatment of drywood termites in the attic, you can apply Bora-Care on raw, natural wood. Once dried, if the wood is sealed the product will last for the life span of the wood.

    Maxforce Complete Granular Bait will not treat for Tawny Crazy ants. We recommend using Invict Blitz which is specifically labeled for Tawny Crazy ants.

    How toxic is this to honey bees?
    I am a beekeeper on 5.5 acres. I have oharaoh ants by the millions. They get into my hives and the bees get so tired of fighting them they abscond. Inhave tried all the tricks and nothing works. I am ready to pull the trigger and eradicate them or try. I could easily put it where I see the nests and around my house but I don't want my bees to get into it or the likely hood of them picking it up I already use advion ant gel In ant bait stations but I think my whole place is these ants nest

    I don't think any roach plans have the granular. How effective and necessary is it for severe infestation?
    I see very little reviews saying it works for roaches. I use temprid or demon wp w gentrol, plus advion, maxforce or alpine bait already Do I need this for a severe infestation?

    Maxforce Complete Granular Bait may be sprinkled around structures and/or applied to refillable/serviceable bait stations as outlined below. Sprinkle this product evenly in a 1-2 foot wide band adjacent to the structure at a rate of 0.5 oz (one tablespoon) of bait per 25 linear feet. NOTE: Around structures the total application should not exceed 4-8 oz per 200-400 linear feet (or 0.5 oz per 25 linear feet). Be sure to treat areas such as porches, patios, driveways, sidewalks, flower gardens, landscape timbers and around trees, wood piles, air conditioning units and garbage receptacles.

    Type of broadcast spreader and settings
    I see that it says with broadcast spreader to apply 1.5 lbs per acre. What type of broadcast spreader would you recommend and what setting to achieve this rate? Currently have a small and larger scotts broadcast spreader.

    You can use the spreader of your choice to apply Maxforce Complete Granular Bait, as long as you can calibrate it to dispense the correct amount of product, which would be 1.5lbs per acre.

    Will Maxforce Complete Granular Bait harm lady bugs?
    We are having problems with outdoor roaches. We also have a lot of lady bugs (which I love). Will this product harm or kill lady bugs?

    Maxforce Complete Granular Bait is a granule bait, the labeled pest would have to ingest it in order for it to work. Maxforce Complete Granular Bait is not labeled to kill lady bugs so we would not be able to confirm any effects it may have on them.

    If I use Maxforce Complete Granular Bait in a bait station, do I still need to apply an ant gel bait in the station to provide the sugary bait?

    Yes, it is recommended to offer both a protein bait such as Maxforce Complete Granular Bait and a sweet/sugar bait such as Advion Ant Bait Gel when treating for ants as their dietary needs will change depending on what the colony is needing.

    Is there a best practice for using Maxforce Complete Granular Bait as a perimeter defense against American Cockroaches?
    My wife and kids go absolutely crazy when they see one IN the house even if it's already dieing from my interior exterior spray.

    It is recommended to apply Maxforce Complete Granular Bait  about every 2 weeks or anytime the bait gets wet.  We would recommend using it with Bait Plate Stations outdoors to keep it from being contaminated by dirt or weather. 

    Treating the exterior perimeter also with a liquid concentrate such as Cyzmic CS would also help treat them before the get into the house.

    Will Maxforce Complete Granular Bait work on spiders in my yard?
    A

    No, the Maxforce Complete Granular Bait is not labeled for spiders.

    Demand CS would be a great choice for outdoor spider control. It will hold up well to UV rays and rain and because it is a micro-encapsulated insecticide, it works a little bit like a time released formula. For spiders, you would use 0.4 to 0.8 fl oz per gallon of water as directed on the product label.
