Maxforce Complete Granular Bait will work on any ant species that is foraging for proteins as that is the primary ingredient in the product. If you find the ants do not go to it, or they are not interested in proteins currently, then swapping to a sugar based bait such as Advion Ant Bait Gel would be a great alternative. You can also use both side by side in the same area for whichever nutrient need the ant colony has, that way they can pick them up in one spot and take it back to the colony.
The shelf life of Maxforce Complete Granular Bait is 3-5 years. It should not be stored in conditions that are below 35 degrees or over 90 degrees, and should stored in a dry area.

Rain can cause the Maxforce Complete Granular Bait to wash away or get moldy which makes it less attractive. You should not apply this or other granules during precipitation. We do recommend re-applying the bait after heavy rains.

Yes, Maxforce Complete Granular Bait would be a good option for leaf cutter ants. Leaf cutter ants can be a very difficult pest to get rid of. The colonies can be large and the ants make their own food, so poison baits only have limited effects on this species. According to several university websites, Maxforce Complete Granular Bait is effective, though usually baiting will only eliminate about 30% of a large colony in one treatment and several applications will be necessary. Deltagard G Granules are also an option. The product label recommends treating mounds directly and lightly watering the granules in. Again, it may take several treatments for complete eradication.
