I used to have a regular bug service come to my house and they were great, but it was $75 quarterly. My main problem has been ants. So the last time we had service, our bug guy gave me several of the Maxforce Ant Stations. Couldn't believe how fast they worked. The ants took the bait back to their nest and by the next day, they were dead and gone. Thrilled to see you can purchase these ant traps online, and so much cheaper than the bug service!

After a couple "antfestations" this summer, I decided it was time to go nuclear. Ordered these, as well as some Dominion from DMOPC. A review of the Dominion will come after I use it. Reason I haven't so far is that these have been incredibly affective with the kind of ants we get in Southern California (Argentine?). I saw a "freeway" of ants outside and placed one of these right next to it. Within a day, the ants were all gone. I'm hoping enough of the little buggers carried the active ingredient in these bait stations (Fipronil... same thing as the highly-effective Termidor SC), and wiped out the colony. Since that first experience, I've been placing one of these next to any consistent-presence of ants (scouts or workers) I see outside. So far, not a single ant inside the house (where I also placed some in key areas where pets can't get to them). The Maxforce FC bait-stations are not inexpensive, but all my efforts with other bait-stations have been nowhere near as successful. And my strategy is kill ants indoors if you have an infestation - really because you're desperate at that point. Far better is to bait them though (killing only takes care of what you see), and take out the colony. Bottom line is these will now be a standard weapon in my arsenal. A plan will be to keep using these throughout the year at the first sign of any scouts. Thanks DMOPC!

These are the best ant stations to use in my area which happens to be the SF Bay. For some reason (unknown to me) the ants can not resist them. I've been using "Do My Own" for a number of years and have always been happy!!
