Product Overview

Maxforce FC Ant Bait Stations are all about fast control and secondary kill. Due to Fipronil and its accelerated Domino Effect kill, Maxforce Ant Bait Stations start to kill ants in just six hours. Tests show 90% population reductions in just four days for ants. This product is more of a protein based bait. We recommend using these bait stations along with a gel bait which is mostly a source of sugar, since ants could be in the mood for either protein or sugar. Gels and stations provide different dietary needs for ants. The ants may eat the gel, or bait stations, or both. And their diet may change frequently between gels and the bait stations. It is better to provide them with both for an optimum kill.

Maxforce Ant Bait Stations are all about fast control and secondary kill. Due to Fipronil and its accelerated Domino Effect kill, Maxforce Ant Bait Stations start to kill ants in just six hours. And tests show 90% population reductions in just four days for ants!

The bait formula is that irresistible, and works that fast.

Maxforce ant bait stations are also convenient and easy to use. The small ant bait station bags contain loose-packed single stations and are resealable to keep baits fresh and protected from contamination. Plus, the patented inspectable red station lids now have an additional feature: A debossed lid that's index welded to the base, creating even greater bait station integrity. And, the easy peel-and-stick adhesive makes application fast.

Tips for Use:

  • Place Maxforce ant bait stations by ant trails and where ants have been seen.
  • Three bait stations should control an average size room, or approximately one bait station per 100 square feet.
  • Do not spray chemicals or disturb trails between ant nests and bait stations.
  • Periodically, replace bait stations that are empty and relocate stations that show little or no ant activity.

    Really works

    By Kathy on 01/13/2009

We had ongoing ant problems in our home for years; our house is on a slab and they lived in the plumbing wall void in the center of the house. I tried many sessions of Terro Liquid Ant Killer, and though they took the bait it was not effective. Maxforce FC Ant Bait stations attracted the ants in droves and within hours they were dying or gone. Weeks later and no ants have resurfaced. We had several separate colonies and they are wiped out. This was well worth the money.

    Needs some help to work

    By Maureen on 07/08/2010

    Verified Purchase

From reading up about getting rid of Pharaoh ants, it seemed Maxforce was the way to go. I was rather disappointed when the ants were walking right by the stations I put in various places they concentrated. They were mostly drawn to any cat or dog food left out for more than 15 mins. - they would come from "out of the woodwork". Also, any cooking oils on the stove and oddly, toothpaste was their favorites! Talked to a couple of friends who are professional pest control techs and they advised cutting open the top of baits a little and mixing up some p-nut butter into the granules. That sure made a difference! I am now ant-free by all observations - hope they got to the queen!

    Worked great with some modification

    By Patti on 08/31/2010

    Verified Purchase

I tried a couple of other things before purchasing the Maxforce FC Ant Bait Stations. I believe we had thielf ants and they were more attracted to the grease than to these traps. However, I tried what I found suggested elsewhere on the web and poked four holes using a probe and put a drop of oil on each of the holes. The ants were gone by the next day. We had used the standard ant baits to no effect and I also had tried a homemade concoction recommended by a university extension site with no effect. These did the trick.

    The only thing that works

    By Ryan on 07/02/2010

These are the only bait traps that work for us. Some of these were given to us for use in the house by a pest control company a couple of years ago. We quit paying for the expensive service when we realized they were not doing anything that we couldn't do on our own. These things stopped hundreds of little piss-ants in our kitchen. We tried a lot of other store bought items that didn't come close to working. I highly recommend these.

    Fastest acting

    By Mike on 11/29/2006

Our office had a major ant (small ants) invasion and we called the local pest control company. We didn't want them to spray so they placed these Maxforce FC Ant Bait Stations throughout our office. Within 2 weeks, the ants were significantly reduced to almost nothing, and a month later, the ants were completely gone. Maxforce ant baits are the most effective ant bait product that I know of. I've personally used Grant Ant Stakes (totally ineffective) and Zep Ant Bait (decently effective ) but Maxforce has been by far the fastest acting and most complete in controlling ants.

Q
My dog chewed up a MaxForce FC Ant Bait Station. Will my dog get sick?
A
Due to the very small amount of product in the station, there would most likely be no effect to your dog. Just to be safe, you may want to contact your veterinarian. We have linked the product label and the MSDS in our answer because your veterinarian may need to see these documents. In the future, when using MaxForce FC Ant Bait Stations be sure to place them out of reach of all pets and children as directed on the product label.

Q
How often to replace Maxforce Ant Bait stations?

I do not know what to look for in bait traps to see if they are used up? I did not think instructions were clear as to how many to use and how often to replace. I have a large tree that had many carpenter ants. I put quite a few bait traps on the tree but today I did see several ants again. I reread information on labels but did not get my questions answered

A
The Maxforce FC Ant Bait stations are made so that you can see the bait faintly through the top plastic red covering.  The stations should only be replaced if the bait inside is gone.  Typically the stations are left out for at least 30 days or as long as needed until the bait is gone.  Baiting is not an overnight process.  Depending on colony size, baiting can take a few days to 3 to 4 weeks to kill an entire ant colony.

Q
How do I use Maxforce Ant Killer Bait Stations effectively?

Received a shipment of MaxForce Ant Killer Bait Stations. Placed stations on and near ant trails. Ants have shown absolutely no interest in any of the stations. They continue to by-pass the stations. What am I doing wrong? Do stations have to be activated in some manner? Do the stations have to be opened up in some manner?

A
You are probably not doing anything wrong, but one thing to consider is that ants are very finicky eaters.  They are either in the mood for protein/fats or sugar depending on what the colony needs.  Maxforce FC Ant Stations are more of a protein/fat type of bait.  The ants are probably looking for more of a sugar type bait right now.  On our product description we do recommend using the stations along with the Maxforce FC Ant Bait Gel which is a sugar based bait.  This way you have both to offer if they are in the mood for one over the other.  If you would like to test this theory, you can place a spoonful of jelly on a piece of tin foil or paper next to one of the Maxforce FC Ant Stations.  If they eat the jelly and not the station bait then they are in the mood for sugar, not protein.

Q
How long does one bait trap last? How can we tell when we need to replace it?

We just put out three traps, and I was getting ready to order some more. I didn't know whether I should wait till later if the ones we put down were good for a while. Please advise.

A
Maxforce FC Ant Bait Stations will be good for a period of one year once the bag to the stations has been opened. Once the stations have been used, they should be replaced every few months because they may become contaminated by things in the home such as cleaners, perfumes, cigarette smoke and the like.
