Useless
By John on 04/10/2010
These might work better with other ants, but the sugar ants ran by them as if they were not there. I don't doubt these things work well in some applications, but we cleaned the hell out of the kitchen, including with vinegar, and the ants kept running right by the traps. I'll try something else next.

Maxforce FC Ant Bait Stations
By Damian on 09/11/2010
When I put these in my kitchen I expected the ants to go right for them. Instead the went right around them to head for my garbage can. And even when I take out the garbage the ants don't go for the baits. Don't waste your money. Go with the gel.

Maxforce FC ant bait
By B on 08/14/2012
Using ant bait stations for about 3 weeks still have ants and seems more tiny ants are arriving again along with those still hiding. They are even on my toilets But some places like my bed seem free but other places are still coming out. Seem to come out of nowhere. So tiny can't feel them crawling on me till they bite. Have a strong bite for such a tiny ant. Will put more bait stations down, but am getting very dissatified with this form of treatment as it doesn't seem to solve the problem. Don't even know if ants are eating from the bait traps.

My Ants from Hell
By Lee on 09/04/2012
After reading the reviews on the Maxforce Ant Bait Stations I was truly hopeful that this was the soluton to my ant problem... $25 later my ants are not in the least interested... Perhaps there is a tab or something I need to pull to activate the bait station but I did not see any instructions to do so... Perhaps someone reading this can let me know if I need to activate these bait stations somehow... Good luck...

Maxforce FC Bait Stations
By Ms on 01/28/2013
I have been using these for about a month to battle a Pharoah/ Thief ant problem. So far NOTHING goes near these baits. I have tried activating them with water, also with oil as this seems to have worked for some users. No luck so far!

Didn't work
By Jason on 10/05/2015
The ants won't use these baits. They go right past them for the Terro baits. The real bad news is that they seem to thrive of the Terro baits worth no ill affect. It's been this way for about a month. Time to bring in a pro.
Expert response:
We are sorry to hear the this product did not work up to your expectations. These stations are protein based and will not work with ants that are foraging for liquids or sugar based food items. As you have noticed, they are going to the sugar based bait at this time. We would highly recommend that you consider using the Maxforce FC Ant Bait Gel in conjunction with the stations so you can get complete control as the ants nutritional needs may change at any time. Please take a few moments to read over our Ant Treatment Guide to learn more about implementing a successful ant control program:

Bait stations
By Sandra on 03/08/2016
Did not work at all. No ants came to them. Bought some Terro liquid ant baits and we had lots of ants coming and eating it. A lot of dead ones also. Would not buy again.
Expert response:
We apologize you did not receive the results you were expecting. Please note as stated on the product page: We recommend using these bait stations along with a gel bait which is mostly a source of sugar, since ants could be in the mood for either protein or sugar. Gels and stations provide different dietary needs for ants. The ants may eat the gel, or bait stations, or both. And their diet may change frequently between gels and the bait stations. What you saw was normal for ants since their nutritional needs change and baits are a food source. We suggest hanging on to the bait and using them if you see ants in the future.

Disappointed
By Dale on 09/28/2016
I can't get the ants to go within a mile of the bait stations.I tried everything inside and outside. No luck!! Never seen anything like it. I should have bought some ant stakes at the grocery store. They are allot cheaper and they work. I would not recommend this product to anyone.
Expert response:
We apologize you did not receive the expected results when using this product. As noted on the page, this product is more of a protein based bait. We recommend using these bait stations along with a gel bait which is mostly a source of sugar, since ants could be in the mood for either protein or sugar. Gels and stations provide different dietary needs for ants. The ants may eat the gel, or bait stations, or both. And their diet may change frequently between gels and the bait stations. It is better to provide them with both for an optimum kill.

Max Force Bait Stations
By Renee on 07/22/2017
I do not think these bait stations are a good value. I placed them directly in the path of the pharaoh ants that were invading my kitchen and bathroom and the ants just avoided them taking little notice. I understand that ants forage for different foods at different times but for the price I would expect a more favorable result. Not worth the money in my opinion. I would not recommend for purchase. They do not work. I would like to ask for my money back but I opened the package so I guess I'm stuck with $25.00 worth of useless merchandise.

Didn't work for me
By Greg on 09/29/2020
Sorry but these didn't work at all for me. Ants just walked around the traps and completely ignored them. I do want to say that I have had excellent results with Fipronil in the past, so I believe that the chemical in the bait would control ants if the ants were to take it. I had read about how sometimes ants want sugar vs. protein so I don't know if the problem is the batch of traps I got or if the ants in my area just never want protein. Other sugar-based bait traps worked extremely well for me instead of these.

Needs some help to work
By Maureen on 07/08/2010
From reading up about getting rid of Pharaoh ants, it seemed Maxforce was the way to go. I was rather disappointed when the ants were walking right by the stations I put in various places they concentrated. They were mostly drawn to any cat or dog food left out for more than 15 mins. - they would come from "out of the woodwork". Also, any cooking oils on the stove and oddly, toothpaste was their favorites! Talked to a couple of friends who are professional pest control techs and they advised cutting open the top of baits a little and mixing up some p-nut butter into the granules. That sure made a difference! I am now ant-free by all observations - hope they got to the queen!

Max force FC ant Bait
By James on 08/18/2015
I have had very good results with this product in the past. This year, however, ants are totally ignoring the bait stations. So, this year it has not been successful at all. I have a lot of confidence in Maxforce products, but this time of year may obviate their effectiveness.
Expert response:
We are sorry to hear that you did not receive the results you expected! Please note that the bait is specific for ants that are currently foraging for protein foods. During some times of the year ants will only consume carbohydrates and will only eat liquid or gel bait which is likely why you did not see the same activity as you normally do. Please take a moment to review our ant guide to learn more about hot to implement an effective ant control program: http://www.domyownpestcontrol.com/how-to-get-rid-of-ants-a-462.html

Not so good
By Dave on 09/03/2017
These contain a dense material that is just not attractive to the ants I have. Stated to be for protein-seeking ants, which I have. Usually on baits like these, if the ants won't take it, I can open the package and mix the bait with something that the ants go for, like cat food or peanut butter, and the combination will work. Not with these; this material just will not mix with anything else. Had to go to another bait entirely.

Ants were not that interested.
By Tom on 07/14/2019
The carpenter ants I had were not that interested in going in the traps. Someone suggested they be broken open and mixed with peanut butter. I broke them open and used honey. They were more interested and it started to kill them, but ultimately I needed an exterminator to finish them off with something more powerful.
