  • Asked by Renee from Honolulu, Hawaii

    Q
Will product stop cats from pooping in the yard? Is it safe around children?
I work at a child care center and need a product or something that will keep cats from pooping on the artificial grass and safe around children.
    A
Orange Oil is safe for children and pets as long as they are kept out of the treated area and dries completely before allowing re-entry. Orange Oil is known to repel certain insects like Fire Ants, however, the manufacture does not make claims that it will repel domesticated animals such as cats. Please see our Cat & Dog Repellant page for products that are safe and effective at repelling nuisance cats.

  • Asked by David from Colleyville, Tx

    Q
What is proper mixture of Orange Oil for spraying carpet to get rid of fleas?
    A
Orange Oil is not labeled to be applied on carpets for fleas so we are not able to advise of the mixture rate for this use.

For indoors, we would highly recommend our Indoor Flea Kit.  It is our most popular product for indoor flea control and is usually the final treatment that people end up using that works when they have tried everything else.

  • Asked by Tony from Illinois
    09/11/2017
    Q
Can Medina Orange Oil be used for spider control?
    A

We do not recommend using Medina Orange Oil for spider control.  Orange Oil is not a pesticide nor is it labeled for any specific insects. While it may slightly deter some insect pests, it will only kill those insects that are sprayed directly during application.  If you are looking for a "natural" type of product, we would recommend something like EcoVia EC for more effective spider control.

  • Asked by Mary from Scott, La

    Q
Is it possible that using Medina Orange Oil to kill bugs on my trees and ornamentals could kill them?
    A

Depending on the time of day the Medina Orange Oil was applied and how much sunlight it was exposed to while wet can cause burning to trees, ornamentals, bushes, etc. It is best recommeneded to apply this product early morning or late evening because it is an oil-based product and can burn foliage and plants if it gets heated up too much from sunlight. We recommend contacting the manufacturer Medina Agricultural Products to discuss further at 830-426-3011
