Merit Insecticide Granules is not labeled for aphids and it would be recommended to use the liquid Merit 2F instead if you are, in fact, dealing with aphids or other plant-sucking insects.
Treating for grubs can often vary from region to region and can change with the weather you have each season. It is best to apply your grub control products in mid-June to mid-July, before the grubs hatch. The eggs hatch in the fall, and grubs feed on turf in fall, overwinter underground, and then feed again in the spring. You will see damage during both of these seasons. Merit G is not labeled for spider mites nor mealy bugs so would not be recommended. For active infestations on non edibles you can use something like Talstar P for both pests. We do recommend avoiding the blooms while spraying to prevent harm to beneficial insects that could be pollinating.
Yes, you can apply Merit Granules along with a weed-and-feed product, as long as the weed-and-feed label does not prohibit you from doing so, and as long as the watering in instructions are the same as what is on the Merit product label.
Grubs Away Insecticide contains the same active ingredient as Merit and can go to CT.

Since Merit Insecticide Granules is a systemic insecticide, you want to apply it several weeks before egg match of the target pest. Usually this application needs to be made in late Spring, usually sometime between May and late June. We recommend contacting your local Cooperative Extension for the best recommendation on application timing for your target pest in your area.
