Miticides for Ornamental Plants
There are many types of mites that can infest ornamental plants. Spider mites are the most common, but you could have several different species affecting your plants. Mites have piercing, sucking mouthparts that pierce leaf tissues and suck out the liquid leaf sap. This causes leaves to yellow and drop off, and large infestations can cause extensive damage. Some plants are more susceptible to mites than others, and mite populations can explode in dry, hot weather, so it is important to inspect plants often for mites.
There are many products available to control and kill mites on your ornamental plants. Some are designed for general pest control, while others are specifically targeted at mites. No matter what you choose, read the label carefully to make sure it will control mites and is safe to apply to your plants.
