When using the Mosquito Control Kit- Heavy Population, Talstar P Professional Insecticide and Archer IGR can be mixed together in the same tank. Both Talstar P and Archer IGR should be diluted at 1 oz. of concentrate per gallon of water per 1,000 square feet of area to be treated.
Yes, the products in our Mosquito Control Kit - Heavy Population are pet safe if used as directed on the product labels. The pets should not be in the area during the application and they can return after the treated surfaces have completely dried.
The products can be reapplied monthly to listed exterior areas for mosquito control. You will want to spray on the undersides of the leaves especially.
The products (Talstar P and Archer IGR), in the Mosquito Control Kit - Heavy Population are safe for children if used as directed on the product labels. They should not be present during the application and while treated surfaces are wet. They can return when the areas are completely dried and the water has dissipated.

BTI Mosquito Dunks can be used in fish habitats as long as it is containerized water (not for use in natural bodies of water). One briquet will treat 100 sq ft of water. Talstar P, like most insecticides, will be harmful to fish if it gets into the pond. According to the Talstar product label: "This pesticide is extremely toxic to fish and aquatic invertebrates. Do not apply directly to water, to areas where surface water is present or to intertidal areas below the mean high water mark. Drift and run-off from treated areas may be hazardous to aquatic organisms in neighboring areas. Do not contaminate water when disposing of equipment washwaters. Care should be used when spraying to avoid fish and reptile pets in/around ornamental ponds."
The concentrates in the Mosquito Control Kit - Heavy Population cannot be used in misting systems. They must be used within 24 hours of mixing so a backpack or other pump sprayer is best for application.
Mosquito Control Kit - Heavy Population would be safe on a property with a well as long as it is not applied over the well and applications are kept at least 15 feet away if there is a chance of runoff to the well.
The two concentrates in the Mosquito Control Kit-Heavy Population- Talstar P and Archer IGR- can be used in hand held pump sprayers like the Chapin Premier Sprayer, backpack sprayers like the Chapin Tree/Turf Pro Backpack sprayer, and in engine powered mist blowers like the Solo 452 Mist Blower. The concentrates in this kit however cannot be used in any form of ULV or Thermal fogging equipment. If that is the equipment you intend to use we suggest looking over some of our Fogging Concentrates.

BTI Mosquito Dunks are a sustained-release larvicide that conveniently floats right on the water surface. Each dunk contains a natural mosquito-killing biocontrol agent which is slowly released at the water’s surface and gradually settles in the water where it is consumed mosquito larvae. This product contains no poisonous chemicals and is harmless to other living things, such as birds.
The Mosquito Control Kit - Heavy Population would be ideal for treating outdoor areas such as landscape beds, trees, shrubs, lawns as well as the exterior foundation of the home. The BTI Dunks in this kit would be used in areas where you have standing water so if that is not an issue, using a residual spray such as Talstar P or Onslaught along with an insect growth regulator such as Archer IGR would be recommended. The IGR works as a growth regulator to help stop the growth cycle of juvenile mosquitoes as well as other listed mosquitoes. Onslaught can last 60-90 days on outdoor surfaces where Talstar P lasts 21-30 days. Retreatments can be done at 7 day intervals if needed. You may want to consider using a Mosquito Trap such as the ProZap Insect Guard - 80 gram/pack in the garage and in those darker, humid and cooler areas in the garage.
