Product Overview

The MosquitoCon Receptacle is a low-profile water-holding mosquito bait station designed to attract container-breeding mosquitoes and provide a single, controlled point for larval treatment. The locking unit comes with a key and holds 96 ounces of water and includes an integrated concrete base, allowing it to remain stable in outdoor areas without added anchoring. When placed around landscaped sections of a property, typically two to three stations per quarter acre, and combined with a larvicide, the MosquitoCon mosquito trap encourages mosquitoes to deposit eggs in a predictable location, helping reduce breeding activity as part of an integrated mosquito management plan.

The MosquitoCon Water-Holding Receptacle + Altosid Larvicide Kit includes two stations and one 2.5 lb bottle of Altosid Pro-G Mosquito Larvicide for treating the water reservoirs. Altosid Pro-G uses the insect growth regulator (S)-methoprene to prevent mosquito larvae from developing into adults. After filling each station with water, the labeled amount of Altosid Pro-G granules can be applied directly into the receptacle. The stagnant water remains attractive to mosquitoes, which creates consistent larval control at each placement point. This setup offers a centralized method for applying Altosid Pro-G and is intended to supplement broader mosquito management efforts with minimal service requirements.  It is recommended to place 2-3 receptacles for every ¼ acre.  One 2.5 lb bottle of Altosid Pro-G will treat approximately 20k gallons of water.

Each MosquitoCon Receptacle comes with the red leaf guard stored inside the station.  You will need to unlock the receptacle with the included key to access the leaf guard for installation.  One key is supplied per order.

Avoid placing stations directly adjacent to neighboring property lines. When performing an adulticide barrier spray, complete the spray application first, then place or uncover the receptacle to avoid contamination.
