For optimum performance, MotherEarth Exempt Contact Insecticide by BASF was formulated from a blend of all natural plant oils. This aerosol is labeled for a wide range of insect pests that includes ants, carpet beetles, bed bugs, clover mites, cockroaches, centipedes, millipedes, earwigs, silverfish, mites, termites, spiders, wasps, ticks, and other flying insects. It uses a blend of botanical insecticides with a pleasant botanical scent and is a minimum risk pesticide. Mother Earth Exempt Contact Aerosol has a quick kill of both crawling and flying insects.

CRAWLING INSECTS (both inside and out): Inject into all cracks, crevices and void spaces where insects may be crawling, hiding or living. Release approximately 1 second of product/linear foot of Crack & Crevice application and from 1 - 2 sec/ft3 of closed void space treated. Apply as a spot application where insects may be harboring or crawling. Apply more liber- ally for heavy infestations. Applications can be made behind baseboards, cabinets, walls, ceil- ings, doors and window frames, around water pipes and appliances, and weep holes behind siding where insects are harboring. Ensure con- tact with as many insects as possible. Repeat as necessary. For bed bugs, treat cracks, crevices and voids where they are harboring. Do not treat mattresses.
VOLUMETRIC TREATMENT FOR VOID AREAS (Attics, False Ceilings and Crawl Spaces): Apply at a rate of 3 - 5 sec/1,000 ft3, contacting as many pests as possible. Repeat as necessary.
OUTDOOR FLYING INSECT TREATMENT: Spray toward target pests contacting as many as possible. Repeat as necessary.
Note: Painted Surfaces - This product may stain some painted surfaces, wood floors, furniture and plastics. Test in an inconspicuous area before applying to surfaces. To prevent staining, wipe away excess with a damp cloth. Hard Floor Surfaces - This product may stain hard floor surfaces, or make them slippery. Wipe away excess with damp cloth to avoid possible injury. Plants - Do not spray directly on plants as this product may cause phytotoxicity.
In 1996, the EPA exempted certain minimum risk pesticides from FIFRA registration if they satisfied specific conditions. To quality for an exemption as minimum risk, each active ingredient in the product must be listed in 40 CFR 152.25(f)(1). In addition, 40 CFR 152.25(f)(2) provides that these products may only contain minimal risk inert ingredients listed in the most current List 4A.
