Before You Treat: Sanitation

Prior to treating with any product, read our flea guide first. It’s very important to do sanitation measures, especially vacuuming. Vacuuming helps you to remove about a third of larvae and fleas before you even begin, and allows products to penetrate into carpet fibers better. Make sure to vacuum under furniture, cushions, chairs, beds, and near walls, as these are perfect flea breeding and resting grounds.

Choosing And Using Natural Flea Repellents

Natural insect repellents as a whole are largely made up of compounds derived from plants, like essential oils. Look for products with cedar, cinnamon, peppermint, citronella, lemongrass, citrus, and geraniol essential oils in at least a 10% concentration of the active ingredient. It can be made of a single oil or a combination of several.

  This product is meant for outdoor use where pets spend time, or for a barrier treatment. It controls several types of insects, including fleas, and this product comes with a sprayer and tank, making your job even easier.
• Mosquito Barrier
  Unlike the other natural products, this one uses a super high concentration of garlic to repel insects with the scent. While it dissipates for human senses, insects can still detect the unpleasant odor. It works for ticks and mosquitoes, but for fleas as well. It is the perfect product to put in common pet dwelling areas.

These natural flea repellent products can help curb your infestation and prevent future infestations if used at regular intervals. Other prevention methods include putting your outdoor pets on flea meds to prevent infestations.
