FOR ESTABLISHED LAWNS:
Apply 10 lbs. per 1,000 square feet of lawn area in early spring and again in late fall along with normal lawn fertilization program. Soils low in organic matter will respond better to application rates of 20 to 30 lbs. per 1,000 square feet. Water in after application.
FOR NEW LAWNS:
Apply 10 to 15 lbs. per 1,000 square feet prior to soil preparation. Till or work into the soil before seeding. Water in after seeding of lawn. Poor, sandy soil will require application rates of 20 to 30 lbs. per 1,000 square feet. Reapply in early fall.
FOR FLOWER BEDS AND VEGETABLE GARDENS:
Apply 1 to 1 1/2 lbs. per 100 square feet before soil preparation for planting. Incorporate into the top 2 inch to 4 inch of soil at time of planting. Water in after application. Use as needed. This is determined by cropping system, environment and soil type. For best results, make a second application in late fall before tilling or turning under plant stubble.
FOR INDOOR AND PATIO CONTAINER GROWN PLANTS:
One teaspoon for 9 inch or smaller pots; one tablespoon for 12 inch or larger pots. Broadcast on the surface or incorporate in top 1 inch to 2 inch of soil. Apply every 3 to 4 months. Water in after application.
FOR MIXING COMPOST:
Add 1/2 cup (1/4 lb.) per cubic foot. Mix well into compost and apply to gardens, flower beds and potted plants.

Easy Application, Keeps Soil Loose
By Chris on 09/07/2019
Applied this during a lawn project that began with a low mow, dethatching and core aeration. Applied a top dressing of topsoil/compost and went over it with this and a 6-4-0 fertilizer. I applied seed somewhat heavily, rolled it in and watered religiously. I had germination of the ryegrass seeds after five days. I then applied a liquid 6-19-0. After 7 days, I pulled on a seedling and it snapped. The root actually remained. Having that much root strength after 7 days is incredible and I would largely attributed it to this. It seemed to dissolved immediately. I would used it again.

Easily Applied Soil Additive
By Pete on 10/28/2019
My lawn has been experiencing growth problems even though I had 5 fertilizer applications per year. I read up on the valud of adding humic acid and tried this granular product. I have noticed increased greening of the grass compared to the adjacent lawns.

Just What My Lawn Needed
By Roy on 04/03/2020
Humic Acid arrived quickly and was my second application, first was last fall. The humic acid makes your fertilizer work better and it results in the thicker, greener lawn. I am sold on the product and will continue to use.

I already fertilized my lawn in mid-February but needed a boost to add more micronutrients into the soil. Do you need to use this product in conjunction with fertilizer, or can it be used alone?
If you have already applied a fertilizer, then Natural Guard HuMic Granular Humic Acid can be applied alone per the product label instructions.
Humic acid can be used as a supplement for dogs but is the garden use toxic?
Natural Guard HuMic Granular Humic Acid is pet safe, if used as directed on the product label. Pets and people should be removed from the area during treatment. Once the treated area has been watered-in and has completely dried, it is then safe for pets and people to re-enter the area.
