    NiBor-D Insecticide mix with Bifen
Can I mix this with Bifen for monthly pest control? Target pest are Millipedes. Didn’t seem like Bifen was effective at preventing Millipedes last season
    A

Nibor-D should not be tank mixed with Bifen IT but can be used in combination with spraying to treat cracks and crevices you cannot spray. Here is a great article on a successful program for millipedes.

    Q
Can NiBor-D Insecticide be used in septic system? Does it kill the beneficial microbs in the tank?
    A

Nibor D can be used down the toilet and drains. It is recommended to treat all plumbing within the home so that it evenly disperses the product in the septic tank.

Nisus advises to use about 5 scoops of the Nibor D in a gallon of water, pour ½ gallon of mixed solution per toilet and flush. For drains, use 1/3rd gallon per drain. Reapply after 2 weeks depending on the severity of the infestation.

    Q
Can NiBor-D Insecticide be mixed with water to spray walls and cabinets for roaches?
I have roaches because I have 2 nasty neighbors I've never had roaches in my life and I can't stand them
    A

Indoors, NiBor-D Insecticide as a liquid spray solution can only be applied under refrigerators, in openings around pipes and sinks inside cabites and openings leading to voids and hollow spaces in walls. This cannot be sprayed over wall surfaces or inside cabinets.

For active roach infestatations, a combination of products are needed to eliminate roaches. There is not one product that will kill active roaches and repeat applications are required every 14 days.

The best treatment program is with one of our Roach Control Kits that contain the top professional grade products that a pest control company would use to treat your home. Roach Kit A is recommended for the FC Magnum Roach Bait as it has the fastest kill and transfer effect throughout the colony. If after 90 days, you are consistently treating every 14 days, rotate to Kit B or C and continue the treatment process.

When treating for active roaches in an apartment building, condo, duplex or shared home where you have adjoining walls with neighbors, it is a great idea to dust wall voids, around electrical outlets, under cabinets, sinks, etc with an insecticide dust like Delta Dust using a bellow hand duster. This is a great addtional treatment to help protect your home from roaches and other insects that will migrate from neigboring units.

Please view our Roach Control Kits, our Roach Treatment Guide and a short video on How to Apply Insecticide Dust for more information.

    Q
    Mix wtih Talstar P?
Can I add NiBor-D to Talstar P and spray at the same time? Or do I have to spray separately? Can I layer one over the other if I spray separately?
    A
No, NiBor-D Insecticide cannot be mixed with Talstar P. Per the label, it can be used in conjunction with an IGR, a fungicide/mildewcide, an emulsifiable disinfectant or a non-residual knock-down emulsifiable insect adulticide. Because Talstar P leaves a residual, we do not recommend applying one on top of the other. Please read the product label for complete application instructions.

    Q
What rate would NiBor-D Insecticide be applied to kill/control darkling beetles ?
    A

Depending on which method you will applying NiBor-D Insecticide (Dust or Liquid), the application rates and procedures will vary. Below are recommended rates and some brief information for darkling beetles however please refer to page 9 of the product label for more information.

The first step is to remove birds from the area. Apply to structural sidewalls, posts, framing, top plates, into cracks and crevices, around insulation and on other structural components that might harbor beetles. Reapply the application annually after each grow out or if facility is washed, sanitized and disinfected.

    For Supplemental Liquid Applications:

Add NiBor-D Insecticide at the rate of 1 lb/gallon of water. Apply at the rate of 4 gallons/100 ft2 of surface area. For fly control, apply a liquid application to the surface of manure piles at the rate of 1-1/2 lbs of product/gallon of water/150 ft2 of surface area.

    Dust applications:

If birds are in contact with floor or litter: Apply NiBor-D Insecticide in dry form with a spreader directly to the floor or old litter surface at the rate of 1-2 lbs/100 ft2 of floor area. Apply a band treatment along bird feeder lines. Reapply annually if needed or after each grow-out.

If birds are caged and not in contact with the floor or litter: Apply dry product at the rate of 1-1/2 – 2 lbs/100 ft2 of surface area. For fly control, apply the dust to the surface of manure piles at the rate of 1-1/2 – 2 lbs/100 ft2 of surface area

    Q
    Can I mix NiBor-D Insecticide with Taurus/Terminor?
I know it shouldn't be mixed with a repellant but I figure a non-repellant would make it even more effective but I don't want to do something illegal.
    A

NiBor-D Insecticide should not be mixed with any other products. Taurus/Termidor is not labeled to be used indoors and has a very strict label for outdoor use.

    Q
Will NiBor-D Insecticide prevent cluster flies and stink bugs? I am looking for the best prevention treatment.
We know about sealing up cracks around the home and tried multiple products and consulted with pest control companies with no help.
    A

NiBor-D Insecticide is labeled to help control cluster flies but it is not labeled for stink bugs. EcoVia WD is labeled for both. There really is no sure way to fully prevent/control cluster flies but the dusts can help when applied in the voids and using and insecticide spray as well like Suspend SC.

Please take a few minutes to read over our article on How to Prevent Cluster Flies and How to Keep Stink Bugs Away.

  • Asked by Jorge from Miami Fl

    Q
Can Nibor-D be flushed down the toilet to control cockroaches in septic tank?
    A

If you have cockroaches actually coming from the septic tank then the biggest concern you will have is finding the area in the tank, lid, or septic lines that has a crack in it that is allowing the roaches access. They would not go down your drains from inside your home to then start a colony or population within the septic tank or system. Since they would have gained access from the yard/lines, the problem may persist if the source is not found and closed up or fixed.

Nibor D can be used down the toilet and drains, and you will likely want to put a little down all of them within the home so you get even dispersal of the product. Nisus advises to use about 5 scoops of the Nibor D in a gallon of water, and do about ½ gallon of solution per toilet to flush down, and about 1/3 gallon of solution per drain. You may need to reapply it after a few weeks, depending on the severity of the infestation.

    Q
Can Nibor-D be used mixed with another insecticide such as a fly spot bait or dinotefuran?
    A

We do not recommend mixing NiBor-D Insecticide with an insecticide such as dinotefuran.  It is considered a bait and mixing it with an insecticide could counteract the efficacy of the product.

    Q
If NiBor-D Insecticide is used in mopping water for house floor, how often do I have to use it?
    A

NiBor-D Insecticide  is commonly used on commercial kitchen floors but not residential floors as it has a green tint. Per the NiBor-D product label, “Mop Solution: This is to be used as a supplemental treatment in conjunction with other pest management practices and may be reapplied as necessary. Apply only to floors by mopping. Allow the mop solution to penetrate into cracks and crevices in the tile or flooring and into crevice areas under equipment to affect possible hidden food sources and harborage areas that may contain small fly larva, including fruit fly and drain fly species and other insect pests. Remove or brush any powder visible after application into cracks and crevices. Avoid introducing the material into the air or onto any exposed surfaces other than the floor area. Avoid contaminating food or food processing surfaces. Do not apply when foods are exposed.” You will add 2.5 cups per gallon of water and it is good until are removed or covered with other debris.

  • Asked by Mary from Va

    Q
Do we apply NiBor-D Insecticide the same way that we used NiBan?
I read Nibor is specific to treat centipedes. Will it hurt lizards- skinks, frogs etc that live around the house? We have centipedes coming into our basement. We've used Niban sprinkled around the perimeter and it has helped.
    A

NiBor-D Insecticide can be applied as a dust, liquid spray or mop solution. For centipedes, we would recommend doing a light coating of dust in the areas where you have seen activity. This can be applied in the same areas Niban was used. This will not harm animals if used as directed. This product will eliminate an amphibian's food source so you will see a decrease in them.
