After using Nuvan ProStrips in my car, should I wipe down all surfaces including the steering wheel, dashboard, arm rests, etc to ensure there are no residue after 48 hrs or more?

A

After using Nuvan ProStrips in a vehicle, you will need to let the car ventilate/air out for a couple hours. Any surfaces such as steering wheel, arm rests, or dashboards can be wiped down if preferred.

The product label does not specifically state that you would need to clean the seats, but if you would like to, you can clean off the seats as an extra precaution.

Where can I store the Novan strips after I used them before the four months is up?

These are meant for a one time use. Once the packet is opened, the shelf life of Nuvan Prostrips may be diminished by as much as a month or more if left unused. The efficacy of Nuvan Prostrips is better protected in a foil-lined packet.

Will 65 grams Nuvan Prostrips+ work in a plastic bin inside a plastic bag?
I bought the 65 grams Nuvan Prostrips but I've read a document by them that states the "Nuvan Prostrips+" can't be used in a plastic bag. It doesn't really say why they can't but only because of logistical reasons. In my plastic bins with lids (they aren't weather tight) but they have been duck-taped a bit. The bins are also inside a tightly knotted plastic bag. The nuvan strip is on top of the plastic bins lid. The contents of the bin are books, and another with books, cds, and magazines. Will this method still work?

The Nuvan Prostrips should be placed inside the plastic bin with your books and cds etc. in order for the vapors to permeate through all of your items in the bin. You can then place the bins into a tightly knotted plastic bag.

Can Nuvan ProStrips and aerosol foggers be used at the same time?
We will be installing Nuvan strips for pest control (roaches and silverfish) inside a shipping container. The boxed paper records inside the shipping containers, may sometimes need to be taken out sooner than the 2 weeks recommended for Nuvan strips to work. Can we use foggers in conjunction with Nuvan strips to treat those items?

Nuvan ProStrips are not recommended to be used at the same time as an aerosol fogger for insects.

NOTE: We no longer carry the Nuvan ProStrips. Nuvan Directed Spray Aerosol could be considered as an alternative. Please view the product label for more information.

Can Nuvan ProStrips be used in my car in 2 treatments of 72 hrs each to kill bed bugs if I can't leave my car for 2 full weeks?
I am treating for bed bugs in my car and apartment. Unfortunately I can't leave my car for 2 full weeks. Could I put some belongings in my car along with 3 nuvan strips for 72 hours then do it again in two weeks once eggs have hatched?

Please NOTE: We no longer carry Nuvan ProStrips.

In order for Nuvan ProStrips to be effective, they need to be left in areas that are unoccupied and unopened for atleast 2 weeks to treat for bed bugs. If the vehicle cannot be closed and unused for the recommended 2 weeks, the treatment is not going to work. If you are simply wanting to treat belongings, then you can place those in seal containers for a couple of weeks with the Nuvan ProStrips. Use one Nuvan Pro Strip per 100 to 200 cubic foot of enclosed area

For vehicles, it is recommended to vacuum the inside of the vehicle (seats, flooring, under seats, along consoles, etc) and use Bedlam Plus Aerosol to treat the tufts, seams and folds of the seats, along edges of flooring, cracks and crevices of dashes, consoles, floor boards, etc.
Apply Cimexa Dust using a bellow hand duster to the areas where the seats of cushions and the backs meet, under the seats along the sliding tracks, and any other crack/crevice small enough for a debit card to slide into.

Sterifab can be used as broadcast spray over seats, flooring, seat backs, etc as this is only a contact kill and will not leave any residual once dry.

Can the Nuvan Prostrips+ (65 g) be used in plastic bags?
I purchased Nuvan Prostrips+ (the 65 g version) for use in a plastic bag with my possessions (more specifically, a sofa in a large mattress bag). However, I found a document by the manufacturer stating that the ProStrips+ should NOT be used in plastic bags, only the 16 g Nuvan ProStrips. I'm not sure what the reason is for this -- what would happen if I used them in a plastic bag?

Correct, the Nuvan ProStrips+ (65 g) cannot be used in plastic bags like the regular Nuvan ProStrips (16 g). The 65 g strips are designed for use in larger areas such as attics, storage units, sheds, crawl spaces, pump houses, utility boxes, garbage cans, trash dumpsters and receptacles, compactors, vacation homes, cabins, boats and other areas.

The product works by vapor action therefore the vapors must be able to successfully travel to the areas where bed bugs and eggs are hidden in order for it to work. For this to occur, there must be air space around items in which the vapors can move. Larger items or furniture will not allow the vaports to disperse therefore items may not be effectively treated.

The Nuvan Directed Spray Aerosol can be used on the tufts & folds of furniture, mattresses, box springs, headboards, footboards, etc and then placed in a plastic bag for treatment. View the full product label for more information.

Will Nuvan ProStrips kill carpet beetle larvae and eggs?
We have some stuffed animals which have been damaged by carpet beetles. Will putting them in sealed bags with Nuvan ProStrips kill any carpet beetles, larvae and eggs on the items? Would the stuffed animals need to be washed or dried before they can be cuddled again? If so this would defeat the purpose of using Nuvan ProStrips. The heat from the washer/dryer would melt their fleece, so we are hoping to avoid that. Thank you.

No, Nuvan ProStrips are not labeled for Carpet Beetles.Nuvan Pro Strips can be used as directed for the following pests: Ants, Bed bugs, Cockroaches, Bees, Hornets, Wasps and Yellow Jackets, Pantry Pests, Flies, Mosquitoes, Spiders.

If heat treatments from your dryer are not an option, you can spot treat the seams of the stuffed animals carefully with a hand steamer as carpet beetles, larvae, and eggs will die upon direct contact with steam. Can I place the strips around my apartment and will be safe for my family and pets
I need something like that so we can remain in apartment along with the strips and I have a dog. Will it be safe?

Nuvan Pro Strips only work if they are in small confined areas where the vapors that are released from the strips can be concentrated. Using Nuvan Pro Strips out in an apartment is against the product label and would not be effective.

What would you suggest I do for killings bugs I can't find? They dropped hundreds of eggs everywhere.
I killed the mature ones. Now I don't have samples for pest control service. They don't know how to treat it.

Without an identification no professional or company would be able to advise you on a treatment. It is extremely important to know what is being treated for to be able to adequately and correctly locate the source of the problem to eliminate it, as well as choose the correct and most effective insecticide for the pest at hand, and to be able to use the labeled rates and retreatment intervals for that specific pest. We recommend putting glue boards out around the home in areas you have found them, and collect any eggs you find in a baggie or container that could help in the ID process. Glueboards like the Trapper LTD boards are popular for catching and monitoring insect numbers.

Is it safe to put prostrips in enclosed spaces inside a bedroom being used?
I am trying to treat a small bed bug infestation. I was thinking of putting prostrips inside a couple cabinets and chests that are inside the bedroom so that the items inside don't have to be taken out. Is it safe to put them in chests and cabinets with someone sleeping in the room as long as those spaces are closed? Will the vapors escape that easily?

Nuvan smell pushing moths into another area?
We have clothing moths in some of our walls. We put Nuvan into an open pocket in the wall by a radiator and sealed the tiny room it was in and put a moth catcher/tent close to the Nuvan strip. After a couple of days, moths emerged in the next door room but moth traps in the treated area/room were empty. This says to me that the smell of Nuvan will push moths away from the Nuvan strips. Can anyone confirm if this is true? We are dealing with a unique situation so this is relevant. Thank you very much! (we have been fighting this situation for 2 years and have isolated moths to just this area - it has been very difficult)

Nuvan ProStrips Large Size can be used in closets for moths, however they are not labeled specifically for clothes moths. Be sure to keep the closet sealed up for at least 2 weeks. We do not recommend you try to use Nuvan ProStrips to treat entire rooms as the vapor will have a hard time building up to the needed level and moving into all of the cracks and crevices. Nuvan Prostrips can only be used in small enclosed areas such as closets (no air vents can be present), cupboards, boxes, bags or small storage bins/areas. The Nuvan ProStrips are odorless.

The moth traps we carry, such as the Catchmaster Clothes Moth Traps are great for both the Webbing Clothes Moths and the Case Making Clothes Moths. These glue traps feature a high-quality adhesive with an attractant that imitates the scent of naturally occurring moth sex pheromones. You should not put out more then 2 of the moth traps at a time in your entire home, because it would oversaturate your home with too much of the pheromone and it will confuse the moths so you will not catch any.

Can I use a strip in a mattress encasement and sleep on it AFTER 3 weeks?
I know the strip needs airflow to circulate, so If I were to buy a larger encasement (a queen encasement for my full size mattress), can I use the strip inside it? I wouldn't sleep on it while the strip is in there.

Can Nuvan ProStrips be used in large storage totes and stored in a bedroom closet as long as the contents inside the tote and the tote itself are sealed shut? Storing totes with Nuvan strips
If I use Nuvan strips in a large storage tote, duct taped shut, and then sealed inside a 4 mil thick plastic bag also duct taped shut - would it be safe to store these totes in a bedroom closet? The bedroom in question is used for sleeping, but I'm not seeing clear instructions on if it is safe for humans or pets to be around the strips if they are in securely sealed inside something.

Hello, I’ve left my Nuvan ProStrips in a container for approximately two weeks, how do I know if the treatment was effective before i start unpacking items?

Typically you want to keep stored items with Nuvan ProStrips sealed for at least 2 weeks. We suggest checking the items for sign of activity before completely unpacking them.
