NyGuard IGR gets to the root cause of chronic insect infestations - the eggs, larvae or nymphs - and prevents them from maturing into reproductive adults thereby controlling future infestations. NyGuard IGR will cause morphological anomalies or changes and disrupt the expected insects' state of development, leading to sterility or death. When adults are present, NyGuard is commonly used in combination with a non-IGR insecticide. This method results in rapid eradication of adults and deposits a base level of NyGuard IGR. Since this product has a long residual, it remains in place for up to seven (7) months to actively disrupt the development of any immature stages that have yet to appear, or which were not susceptible to the insecticide product used to control adult insects.
Features:
Directions:
Apply NyGuard as a diluted spray or ULV/fogger to prevent eggs, larvae and nymphs from maturing into reproductive adults. Apply NyGuard in combination with a non-IGR adulticide to knockdown and kill existing adult populations while breaking the cycle of your toughest insect pests.
Sprayed for fleas got prehatched mosquito's
By Norma on 07/10/2012
We used a combination of Nyguard and Talstar 1 early in June. We got an immediate kill on fleas, and other nasty bugs outside, but I wasn't expecting the destruction of the majority of the Mosquito eggs. I have lived in this house in Florida for 21 years. For 21 years I had to stay inside much of the time, at dusk especially but also all day and all night because our area had so many mosquitos. A lot didn't seem to be stopped by repellants either. We had a long dry spell and then about a week and a half after we sprayed, it begain to rain some every day, then it rained all day for several days. We needed it badly but I wasn't looking forward to being swarmed by mosquitos. I was astonished! We have had very few even at dusk, and those who managed to hatch are strange. They fly slow enough so that I can kill them before they ever land. It is like they are can't navigate normally. This is the first summer I have not gotten even one bite. I have been able to enjoy the outside again for the first time ever at this house. I reordered the same items and intend to spray one more time before the month of July is over. Just some advice to those who have houses that back up to woods, we sprayed the wooded area as well as the yard. We sprayed our neighbors yard and the small wooded area behind her house. A lot of mosquitos breed under damp leaves that pile up on the ground here in Florida. Well not anymore at may house! We even sprayed across the road in the brush. Good thing too, because they discovered the mosquitos were carrying West Nile Virus in our area. Best thing I ever did in the rhelm of insect control!

I am blown away!
By John on 07/31/2012
This is the very best pest control I have ever used! I had an issue with fleas in my dog pen. I could not get them killed out for nothing until I was told about NyGuard. I used every product I could think of and spent a small fortune! A flea or two would attach itself to me when I would clean my dog pen, and next thing I knew is they were in my house too! NOT ANYMORE! This NyGuard mixed with Demize, totally killed out the fleas...inside and out in 24hrs! And they stayed gone. Now I don't even need flea collars for my dogs! Thanks for such a great product. Send me a hat or something so I can advertise for you, because your product is the best on the market...hands down! I am going to purchase more of this product so I never run out. I NEVER toot someones horn unless they deserve it...and NyGuard deserves it! So, TOOT TOOT!

A true KNOCKOUT
By David on 09/15/2011
After fleas had set up house in ours we attempted to get rid of them in the usual manners (fogging and flea powder). We got desperate and were about to burn down the house (not really) and then I found this site. What a life, and house, saver. Less than 2 hours after application the fleas stopped biting and we have never had a problem since. I use it on my balcony for season long wasp and spider control and swear by it. You can't miss when you pick this product.

This Product Works!!!!
By Marianne on 06/07/2011
I purchased this product as a safer product to control indoor and outdoor insects (mosquitoes, fleas, flies, roaches, ants, etc....). Nothing bothers me inside or outside after 3 months!!! It's a little slow to start, but once you get it applied around your house and inside your house, your problems are over!!! I had continual repeat flea issues from my Welsh Corgi. I treated the inside of the house and also treated the outside areas where she laid. NO MORE FLEAS!!!! And it does wonders in keeping mosquitoes under control, too!!!!

Excellent product
By Li on 05/08/2013
The person who was talking about how her cats still have fleas weeks later does not know how this product works. It stops the next generation from growing into viable adults. If you have fleas, you have to do a multi-angled approach and not just spray & pray. Seriously, if you don't know what you're doing. Don't buy the product. I've used this for years on all sorts of issues and it's as close to a magic wand as you're gonna get.

When using Nyguard with Talstar can I use a surfactant?
Yes, NyGuard IGR can be combined with any insecticide including Advion WDG.
Can NyGuard be mixed with Diatomaceous Earth to make a liquid nontoxic suspension to be sprayed for fleas inside a home?
No, it would not be recommend to mix NyGuard IGR with Diatomaceous Earth. Diatomaceous Earth is suppose to be spread & left dry not mixed with water. If fleas are inside your home, you may consider using our Indoor Flea and Tick Kit. The kit will contain an IGR so mixing needed We also have a guide here that help with flea treatment
What air temperature range can you apply NyGuard IGR outdoors? Thank you.
NyGuard IGR should be applied when temperatures are above freezing but before they get above 85 degrees
NyGuard IGR can be mixed with any insecticide. However, Abamectin SPC 0.15 EC Miticide is not labeled to treat roaches. We suggest using the items in our New York Roach Control Kit Rotation A and following the steps in our Roach control Guide.
NyGuard IGR can be used at 4ml -12ml per gallon. There is a dilution chart on page 4 of the label with more details.
Talstar P is applied at 1 fl oz per gallon of water per 1,000 sq ft with 3ml of NyGuard IGR for exterior flea applications.
Flea Control Article
Timing can vary, you should remain out of the area treated with NyGuard IGR while wet and allow to fully dry and ventilate for about an hour after drying prior to returning to the areas.
I am looking for effective insect control indoors and outdoors. Would mixing Onslaught, ExciteR and Nyguard be the most effective? ExciteR for quick knockout, Onslaught for long lasting residual, and Nyguard to stop reproductive cycles? Can you suggest a more powerful combo?
NyGuard IGR is mixed at 4ml to 12ml per gallon of water per 1,500 sq ft when tank mixed with an insecticide such as Talstar P. Per the product label, use the higher 12ml per gallon of water rate for heavier insect populations.
View our Mosquito Treatment Guide for more information on a full mosquito treatment program.
Yes, NyGuard IGR and Fendona CS can be tank mixed together and apply at the same time. The combination of these products will provide full control for your pest needs.
Please refer to the individual product labels for application rates based on your target insect.
One of your previous question responses (regarding NyGuard vs Archer IGR) claims that NyGuard is photostable outdoors for 4-6 months (versus the more typical IGR, which might last 14 days outdoors). Is this a misprint, or is that claim actually documented somewhere? I haven't seen that in the label, but I'd be happy to be wrong. For that matter, are there any IGRs that last 3+ months outdoors?
Depending on the target insects, one treatment of NyGuard IGR can last for 6 months against cockroach nymphs and crickets and up to 7 months for fleas. This is for both indoors and outdoors. We recommend alternating treatments with NyGuard IGR to ensure each stage of the insect comes in contact with the insect.
Refer to Control of Listed Insects section of the product label, the Indoor & Outdoor Control of Listed Insects and Preventative Flea Treatments section for this information.
I have goats that are fenced in, but they occasionally escape and graze & eat what little grass I do have left in my yard. Would this be fatal/toxic to them if they ate the grass even after it was dried? If not this, then would would be safe for them?
While NyGuard IGR is labeled for use in and around livestock, animal, and poultry production and housing such as kennels and barns, this product is not labeled for use in grazing areas. Keep in mind that NyGuard is generally used to target structural pests or flying insects rather than turf pests, so you could apply this in areas like on and around the foundation of structures or other places where the goats would not actually be grazing or otherwise contacting the treated areas.
According to the SDS Sheet, NyGuard IGR does have a “sweet” odor alone and by itself. Since IGR”s will only stop the growth cycle and do not kill listed insects if applied by themselves, please refer to the SDS Sheet of the insecticide labeled for the target insects that will tank mixed with the IGR.
The SDS Sheet is the best resource for information on a products physical state, color, appearance, etc.
