Nyguard IGR is not currently labeled for bedbug control and has not been tested for efficacy on bedbugs. There is only one insect growth regulator labeled for bedbug control, Gentrol IGR. Please keep in mind that Gentrol only stops insects from reproducing and does not kill anything, so it must be used in conjucntion with an insecticide to be effective. NyGuard IGR is a great insect growth regulator choice as it is labeled for clothes moths. It will not kill the insect only impede the reproductive cycle. It should be diluted with water and applied with your Talstar P. Using a clothes moth trap is also encouraged.

NyGuard IGR is safe in homes with cats and other animals when used as directed on the product label. Pets do not have to be out of the home, but should be out of the treated area during treatment until it has dried completely.
NyGuard IGR is a great product to use in combination with a bifenthrin product like Bifen IT. Bifen does not kill on contact but instead will leave a residual of up to 30 days to continue to kill those ticks and other insects that contact a treated area. Those that are sprayed directly will die faster of course but it can still take a few minutes up to a few hours or so to die after contact. We also have great guides here that can help.
The 480 ml bottles of NyGuard IGR have red caps. The 140 ml bottles have white caps.

Springtails can be tough to eliminate because they reproduce very quickly. Unfortunately, NyGuard IGR is not labeled for springtails. In almost every case where people have springtails they also have a moisture problem such as a leaking or sweating pipe, poor ventilation in their crawl space, lots of wet mulch right up next to their house, etc. You must locate and correct the moisture problem to get rid of the springtails, insecticides alone will not do the job. NyGuard IGR is mixed with an insecticide such as Bifen IT for a spray application for fungus gnats.
Per the Nyguard IGR product label instructions you can use varying rates. You use anywhere between 4 ml - 12 ml per gal and then apply over 1000 - 1500 sqft. Talstar is mixed at 1 oz/gal and that generally covers 1000 sqft so when mixing with the NyGuard IGR you would want to use 3 ml up to 8 ml with that 1 gallon of Talstar. In general your first application should use the higher rates.
NyGuard IGR is only labeled for Lone Star ticks. For deer ticks and other species, we would recommend Archer IGR.
For outdoor pests, apply NyGuard IGR at the rate of 4 ml in one gallon of water to treat 1,000 square feet. Use up to 12 ml per 1,000 square feet for insect populations that are difficult to control or in conditions that make it difficult to get control of target pests.
