    Q
Will NyGuard IGR be effective to treat bermuda mites if tank mixed with an insecticide?
I have been dealing with Bermuda mites for about a year now and while Bifen IT has made a big dent in the population, I am still battling them. I was curious if mixing the Bifen with NyGuard would do the trick to mostly eradicate them.
    A

Nyguard IGR is not labeled to control Bermuda Mites (eriophyid mite) so would not add any benefit to your treatment. While the active ingrdient bifenthrin is one of the commonly suggested active ingredients to treat for bermudamites and have shown to be an effective treatment, Bifen IT is not specifically labeled for them.

We would recommend DeltaGuard G Granules for treating bermudamites at the rate of 2 to 3 lbs per 1000 sq ft. Please view the full product label for more information and application instructions.

For addtional non chemcial methods of treatment, here is an article by Oklahoma State University on Bermudagrass & Zoysiagrass Mites for more information.

    Q
What is best for complete flea eradication along with NyGuard IGR?
I didn't realize that NyGuard IGR only helps with reproduction. What should I mix with it…best for complete eradication? I want to kill adults too. Thank you.
    A

Cyzmic CS Controlled Release Insecticide provides excellent flea control when mixed with Nyguard IGR, and provides control of dozens of insects in a powerful micro-encapsulated formulation for long-lasting control and little to no odor.  You may also need our Indoor Flea and Tick Kit if you are dealing with a flea infestation indoors.  We also recommend referring to our Flea Treatment Guide for comprehensive information on all steps needed to eradicate fleas.

    Q
Does NyGuard IGR have any odor or strong smell after it's applied?
    A

According to the SDS SheetNyGuard IGR does have a “sweet” odor alone and by itself. Since IGR”s will only stop the growth cycle and do not kill listed insects if applied by themselves, please refer to the SDS Sheet of the insecticide labeled for the target insects that will tank mixed with the IGR.

The SDS Sheet is the best resource for information on a products physical state, color, appearance, etc.

    Q
Can NyGuard IGR be applied to lawn areas where goats graze and possibly eat grass?
I have goats that are fenced in, but they occasionally escape and graze & eat what little grass I do have left in my yard. Would this be fatal/toxic to them if they ate the grass even after it was dried? If not this, then would would be safe for them?
    A

While NyGuard IGR is labeled for use in and around livestock, animal, and poultry production and housing such as kennels and barns, this product is not labeled for use in grazing areas. Keep in mind that NyGuard is generally used to target structural pests or flying insects rather than turf pests, so you could apply this in areas like on and around the foundation of structures or other places where the goats would not actually be grazing or otherwise contacting the treated areas.

    Q
Is NyGuard IGR photostable outdoors for 4-6 months?
One of your previous question responses (regarding NyGuard vs Archer IGR) claims that NyGuard is photostable outdoors for 4-6 months (versus the more typical IGR, which might last 14 days outdoors). Is this a misprint, or is that claim actually documented somewhere? I haven't seen that in the label, but I'd be happy to be wrong. For that matter, are there any IGRs that last 3+ months outdoors?
    A

Depending on the target insects, one treatment of NyGuard IGR can last for 6 months against cockroach nymphs and crickets and up to 7 months for fleas. This is for both indoors and outdoors. We recommend alternating treatments with NyGuard IGR to ensure each stage of the insect comes in contact with the insect.

Refer to Control of Listed Insects section of the product label, the Indoor & Outdoor Control of Listed Insects and Preventative Flea Treatments section for this information.
