    Q
How long should I wait for control of carpet beetles before retreating?
    A
We recommend using our Carpet Beetle Control Kit which includes 3 professional grade products (including NyGuard Plus) that can all be used safely indoors to combat a carpet beetle infestation.  When used correctly, these products will eliminate adult and larvae carpet beetles and prevent re-infestation.  If you still see activity 30 days after applying the NyGuard Plus, you should repeat the the application by shaking the can of NyGuard Plus, then apply in a sweeping motion in the rooms where carpet beetles (both larvae and adults) have been found, including carpets, rugs, baseboards, closets and around the edges of carpets.

    Q
What are the ventilation and sealing off area recommendations when treating with NyGuard Plus? Do windows and doors need to all be shut inside the house then opened to air out for a few hours.
    A

NyGuard Plus is not a product that you would need to seal off areas or open windows to ventilate like when using aerosol foggers or bombs. Depending on the insects you are targeting, NyGuard Plus should be directly sprayed onto carpets, rugs, flooring, floors, drapes, as a spot treatment to mattress seams, edges, buttons, and tufts of beds, etc. You will spray until slightly damp and not saturated or soaking wet.

For best results before any carpet/surface treatment, vacuum thoroughly before spraying and immediately dispose of vacuum bag in outside. You can read the full product label HERE

    Q
    Does NyGuard Plus harm toads?
I was spraying basement window at garden level. There was a toad under a leaf that I didn't notice until afterwards. Just in case they may have gotten any on them I moved them well away from the area and rinsed them with 4 bottles of water immediately.
    A

While we are unaware of any case studies of NyGuard Plus on toads, we always suggest to avoid applying to non-target animals and when they are in the area.

    Q
Can I spray just 1 room with NyGuard Plus?
We had a company come in and use NYguard for our flea problem. 2/6 rooms still have activity after the 2 week mark with proper vacuuming. Can I spray 1/2 bedrooms and shut the doors while still staying in the house? The rooms will not be touched until 5 hours later.
    A

It is usually recommended to have everyone leave the home while its being treated and stay out until all surfaces have dried, even if only part of the home is being sprayed. We do understand some homes have situations where that isn't always feasible, and the home may need to be treated in stages or sections. After thoroughly vacuuming the rooms you still have activity within, you can spray the NyGuard Plus and then close the door off, and place a towel at the bottom of the door to stop any additional airflow from emerging, and allow the room to dry for several hours before resuming use.   You can reapply Nyguard Plus every 2 weeks if needed for active infestations.

    Q
    Unscented option of NyGuard Plus?
Is there an alternative to Nyguard Plus that doesn't have a scent or at least one that's not as strong and long lasting?
    A

NyGuard Plus is not available in an unscented formulation. We apologize but we are not aware of an unscented product for fleas. They will have a mild odor that will dissipate when dry and with proper ventilation such as PT Alpine Flea and Bed Bug Aerosol.
