The Orcon Flea Destroyer (7 million) (FD-C7M) is an effective and live product that eliminates fleas. It is effective to use on any garden, yard or where fleas are present. It is an environment, pet and people friendly product that penetrates the body of target pests living in the soil. These organisms will reproduce once they kill the juveniles. It features a three part program which effectively controls and completely eliminates fleas. They can be eliminated while they breed on the pet or animal, carpets and other upholstery and on the ground. This product is an easy and quick to use solution for any household, it can be easily mixed with water and sprayed on targeted areas. Each container contains 7 million organisms of nematodes.
USE: Flea Destroyer contains 7 million tiny organisms called nematodes. They have the ability to seek out and penetrate flea larvae that live in the soil.
For effective flea control, it is important to attack fleas:
On the pet where they feed.
In the carpet where they breed.
Outdoors where they breed.
Flea Destroyer is the vital third step: outdoor flea control.
RELEASE: Pour the entire contents of the container into a bucket of cool water. Stir and let stand for 20 to 30 minutes to allow the nematodes to activate and leave the sawdust-like carrier material. They may be applied with a watering can, pump sprayer, or hose sprayer. If using a watering can, stir occasionally as you pour to keep the nematodes evenly distributed in the water (they will gradually sink to the bottom). If using a sprayer, each time you fill the sprayer, stir the bucket and pour through a kitchen strainer to filter out the carrier material. This material may be mixed into the soil since it will still contain some nematodes. Use the coarsest or highest rate setting on the sprayer to reduce damage to the nematodes as they come out of the nozzle.
COVERAGE: One container of Flea Destroyer will cover approximately 1000 square feet. Higher concentrations will get faster results.
RECOMMENDATIONS: It is very important to apply the nematodes out of direct sun light since the sun light will kill them. Evening releases are best.
Note: Nematodes travel in moist environments, so the treated area and before the application should be watered and also for several days after the application. This will allow the nematodes to travel the farthest in their search for flea larvae.
we put the flea destroyer on our lawn 5/15 and 4/16 seeing fleas again. Works great for almost a year. That's all. I expected it to last a little longer for the price. Tell how long expected to last before purchase.
I used this product this year for the first time and love it! I wish I had known about this product sooner - no fleas! This product was recommended by a friend because I have a cat with health issues and cannot use Frontline or similar products on him. It is cheaper than treating our dog and cat with Frontline products and good for the environment!
It's only been 3 weeks since applying the nematodes, so it's a little premature to give a complete review. This outdoor application, along with Flea Stoppers indoor, seems to be helping greatly. They were disbursed to the yard by hose attachment, which was very easy. It's been a challenge to keep the grass & outlying areas damp in Southern California, so I'm not sure they thrived as well as they would have in a better environment.
Do these nematodes multiply once they are in the yard?
.? What is the lifecycle of the nematodes?
Beneficial Nematodes will remain effective for up to two years, but annual applications are recommended when using Orcon Flea Destroyer. First, the juveniles will seek out pest insects in the soil (the fleas) after application, infect them and release bacteria. They will then multiply inside the pest, develop into adults, and kill the pest. The new juveniles emerge to seek out new hosts.
The Orcon Flea Destroyer is labeled for fly larvae. You will pour the entire contents of the container into a bucket of cool water. This can be applied with a watering can, pump sprayer or hose end sprayer.
