I sprayed GroundClear on area that I intended to plant flowers and shrubs in after weeds and grass killed. Can I still plant with new soil over top of the sprayed area?
Ortho GroundClear Vegetation Killer Concentrate can prevent anything growing in the area for up to 1 year. You will need to wait that time to plant in the treated area or completely remove the treated soil and replace with new to plant sooner

Ortho GroundClear Vegetation Killer Concentrate should not be applied near edible vegetation. Pets should be out of the area during the application and while wet. Once completely dry, it is safe for their return.

Ortho GroundClear Vegetation Killer contains two active ingredients, glyphosate for post-emergent plant control and imazapyr for long-term pre-emergent treatment. This product will affect any plants that you spray with it, but it can also kill plants if their roots contact treated soil. Since this product is designed to last in the soil for many months, you should not spray it where there would be any contact or runoff with the root systems of desirable plants.

All bare ground/vegetation management products like Ortho GroundClear Vegetation Killer Concentrate are recommended to be applied outside the dripline of desirable trees and plants to prevent their feeding roots from absorbing the product. Inside the dripline is where these roots are closest to the soil and could absorb any such product so we would not recommend using any in the area within any desired plant drip lines. Additionally, be sure to protect any desired plants/grasses from overspray.

Weeds that have been treated with Ortho GroundClear Vegetation Killer Concentrate can be pulled once dead. It would be best to wait at least 2 weeks to be sure they are completely dead.
