Q
Great idea. Why Does the Packtite Closet Bed Bug Heater System take so long?

If a steam machine can hit a bug at 180 degrees and kill it or the eggs on a mattresses and essentially treat a room, why us your product so inconveniently slow? Concept is perfect, but timing is everything!!!! . Why does everything have to sit so long in there? Surely a few mins is fine no?

A
A few minutes is not fine. You must put the items in the Packtite for the recommended amount of time because the heat must penetrate all of the items to kill the bedbugs and their eggs. For instance if you put a bundle of clothes in the packtite and only leave them for a couple of minutes and only the outer layers of the clothing had a chance to heat up, any eggs or bedbugs within the inner layers of clothing could potentially survive.

Q
How long do you run the Packtite Closet Bed Bug Heater System to kill the bed bugs?
A
The Packtite is meant to be part of your bedbug control program, not the whole program itself. The Packtite will be able to treat items that fit inside of the unit and will take about 4 hours to treat items inside. Unit measures 36 x 34 x 18 un-inflated. Once inflated it measures 40 x 36 x 30. For treating items that will not fit into the unit and also the room itself we recommend one of our Bedbug Kits as they come with all of the products we recommend you use in a bedbug control program.

Q
Should I heat up the Packtite Closet Bed Bug Heater System before I put the clothes inside?
A

No, the Packtite Closet will be very hot, so you should always insert and remove items when the unit is cool.

To reduce treatment time and maximize effectiveness of the Packtite Closet Bed Bug Heater System , hang items to be treated on clothes hangers and hook the hangers to the top bar. Place only items that CANNOT be hung, on the bottom shelf. The unit comes with a digital thermometer/ timer. Place the thermometer probe inside any item to be monitored. Zip the front flap closed with the thermometer probe cord extending out at the zipper end, either at the top or the bottom, set the timer and when the timer alarm goes off, turn the heater and blower fan OFF, unzip the entire flap and wait 5 minutes before removing items. For complete application instructions please click here.
