We apologize for any confusion. One 6 pound bag of Pennington Fast Acting Lime will cover approximately 1,000 square feet on lawns for pH that is 6.0 and above. One 30 pound bag will cover approximately 5,000 square feet. You will add an additional 6 lbs/1,000 sq ft on the application rate for each 1/2 point of pH below 6 (i.e., use 12 lbs for pH 5.5-6.0, 18 lbs for pH 5.0 - 5.5, etc.).
Pennington Fast Acting Lime is best applied twice a year, in the spring and mid-fall, just before the first frost so that the lawn can absorb through the winter.

Pennington Fast Acting Lime can be used on new sod with no issue. Most times it is best to apply before seeding/sod to better prepare the soil for healthy growth. Just be sure to only apply what is needed.
Per the MSDS for Pennington Fast Acting Lime contains 98.5 Calcium Carbonate + 2% Lignosulfonate.

Pennington Fast Acting Lime (calcium carbonate) is not the same as hydrated lime (calcium hydroxide).
Pennington Fast Acting Lime is labeled to be used on edible gardens. Per the label it says to use 1 lb for every 100 sq/ft of garden area to be treated and is usually applied in the spring.
There is no time restriction to wait to apply fertilizers after Pennington Fast Acting Lime.
We apologize but do not carry that brand of spreader, so we are not familiar with it. If the manufacturer’s website says it should not be used with Ag-Lime than we would not recommend using the Pennington Fast Acting Lime in it.
Pennington Fast Acting Lime is not labeled for applications to rootballs of fruit trees. It is recommended for lawn applications as directed only.
Unfortunately the Pennington Fast Acting Lime helps to balance the pH in soil in order to produce a better growing environment for lawns and grasses, which greatly reduces these problems it is not labeled to keep snakes away. Please consider the Snake Out Snake Repellent to keep snakes away. When snakes come into contact with Snake Out in the air, an escape and or avoidance reaction is triggered so the snakes are actually repelled away from the product.
You can apply Pennington Fast Acting Lime, but the earlier the better. It usually takes lime about 1 year to fully react with the soil.
There are no restrictions for use of the Pennington Fast Acting Lime in animal areas or grazing/pasture areas. We do recommend that you keep animals out of the immediate area until the application is finished and has been watered in.
