5 of 5 stars  Flea infestation
By Mark in Ft Worth, Tx on 05/18/2012
    Verified Purchase

Had a major flea infestation, probably wasted 2 weeks trying to get control of the problem with store products, don't waste your time with local store killers. Found do my own pest control, purchased permethrin and an igr and immediately got control of the situation. With a major infestation, don't be surprised if you have to make several applications over a 2 week period and thats due to the flea life cycle, but this stuff is the best and a local exterminator agreed.

5 of 5 stars  Japanese Beetles
By Hildegard in Saint Peters, MO on 07/16/2010

My yard had literally thousand of beetles this year. In my 50 years of gardening I never encountered any until last year. They loved the Crepe Myrtles, Virginia creeper, Pussy Willow, blooms on the Oak Hydrangea, and I even had them on the Echinacea petals and inside the Day lily blossoms. Permethrin SFR, just 10 cc per gallon of water had them eliminated within 2 days.  There are just a few stragglers now and in the last few days. Doing it myself saved me much money, thank you for making it available to the private consumer.  Directions must be followed to avoid damage to plants and/or pets. I had no unwanted results this way.

By Jason in Miami, FL on 09/12/2011

Bought for a tick infestation in Miami, Florida. Product is highly concentrated, so it's very economical for use with a hose sprayer for treating lawn. Seemed to be effective, particularly when combined with Preventic collars on the dogs. Ordering was easy and they shipped very quickly.

By Daniel in Deer Park, TX on 09/26/2010

I ordered the Permethrin after a little online research. It worked very well. I have no signs of fire ants all along my fence line or any more of those crazy Rasberry Ants either.....all after one application. As for, they shipped the product as advertised in a very timely manner. I will definitely do business with them again.

5 of 5 stars  Ticks and Fleas
By Aleon in Mcallen, TX on 04/21/2013
    Verified Purchase

Gets the job done. I started using this last year for ticks and fleas indoors and out. Used about 1oz to 5 gals-water mix for the yard and after four applications (just finished one bottle) using a "end hose sprayer" the ticks were gone and did not come back this year. Fleas are back, but I probably will have to spray every few weeks to get rid of them again which is expected as I have alley cats and dogs all around. I also dip my huskey with this after a regular bath using the same concentration and she's been real clean and happy since I started with this last year.

By Clayton in Corpus Christi Texas on 10/06/2017

My rental house got vacated except they left thousands of roaches and fleas. My first inspection was cut short because my blue jeans had turned black from my knees down due to hungry pests. After thorough research I ordered this Permethrin SFR 36.8% and did not find a single bug alive post-application. Strongly recommend this product!!!!

By Bill in Humble, Texas on 10/01/2017

I have used the 10% Permethrin to control Flea's in my yard and around the house. I had so much success with the 10% solution I thought I would try the 36.8% solution on web worms and other associated undesirable critters that seem to think I should support their bad habits. This solution worked as designed and I really like the non-toxic impact on other desirable wildlife, Dogs, Cats, Squirrels, Birds etc. I gotta say Do My Own is the best!!!

Works well on spot spraying almost any bug ant or wasp . Kills ants if it gets on them . Steer up the ant first . This site had the lowest price and free shipping . No tax . This was a bought $12 less than I had paid when I bought it from local farm supply store. I use one once per gallon so it makes 32 gallons.

By Becki in Omaha, Ne on 09/30/2017

I absolutely love this insecticide. My yard and home are now bug free, my children and I have no more hideous bug bites, and the dogs are flea free!! There is no overpowering or lingering odor. The solution doesn't take very long to dry and air out. It was very simple to measure out with the ounce-o-meter on the side of the bottle, and the one-ounce built-in measuring cup.

QWill Permethrin SFR kill black widow and brown recluse spiders? Is it safe for gardens, children, and pets?
will permethrin sfr get rid of black widows and brown widows or is there a better product for these spiders? Please tell me the dangers for small children, animals and an organic garden. Thank you

ABrown recluse spiders and black widow spiders share the same biology as every other species of spiders and are not any harder to kill than other spiders. Permethrin SFR is labeled for spiders and should do a great job in helping you eliminate spiders in and around your home. Permethrin SFR is safe around children and pets as long as they are kept out of the area during the application and they do not return to the area until it is dry. Permethrin SFR should not be used in an organic garden because it is a synthetic product and it is not labeled for use on most types of edible plants.

QUsing Permethrin SFR how many oz per quart water for mix of .5%?

AYou will need to use 1 2/3 fl. oz. for each gallon of water to get a 0.5% ratio. If you only need to mix one quart of solution at a time you will need to use just under 1/2 (0.43) oz of Permethrin SFR per quart of water to get a 0.5% mixture.

QWhat is difference between Dragnet FT Emulsifiable Concentrate and Permethrin SFR 36.8?
I have a product call Dragnet FT Emulsifiable concentrate insecticide 36.8%. And your product is Permethrin SFR 36.8%. Can you tell me if it is the same thing because there is a big difference in price

We used to carry Dragnet SFR, but FMC (the manufacturer) discontinued it. It was the same thing as Permethrin SFR 36.8. We are not sure if the Dragnet FT (which we didn't carry) is the exact same formulation, but from looking up the label, it appears to be the same percentage of the same active ingredient. Please let us know ifthere a particular pest you are treating.

QHow long does a treatment of Permethrin SFR last?
I will be using it on the exterior of my home in Arizona for arachnids and wonder how often I would need to retreat the area to remain pest free.

Since Permethrin SFR is an oil-based product it is going to be more prone to break down in the extreme heat and sunlight in your area faster than other products. You will likely have to reapply the Permethrin every 30 days to keep insect populations under control and have a strong residual still on the surface. We would suggest when you get ready to order more product in the future going with something better designed for your environment like Cy Kick CS or Onslaught FastCap which will also likely give a better control over arachnids and other pests they feed on due to their encapsulation.

QHow many liters does a quart of Permethrin SFR 36.8% make when diluted at 2% concentration?

To use Permethrin SFR 36.8% at a 2% solution, you would use 6 2/3 fl. oz. of concentrate with 121 1/3 oz of water to make 1 gallon of solution. QWhat is the best pest control for New Mexico, Edgewood area in the mountains?
I'm moving to an area that I don't know anything about, it's mountains and rural. Lots of native animals, including deer so I'm worried about my dog and cats getting ticks as well as us for that matter. What is the best spray for my yard that I can do once a month or every coupon months? There are also a lot of trees so tree termites or beetles could be a problem.

Permethrin SFR 36.8%would be good to use for ticks and other insects in the yard as well as on healthy trees to help protect from beetle infestations. We have a great video that shows where to spray for perimeter and interior spraying. Please click here to see the video as well as our Tick Prevention guide here.

As for termites, the best thing is to protect your home.We have a step by step guide that will walk you through how to do your own termite trenching treatment to help do this. You can see the guide by clicking on the link here.

QCan I use Permethrin SFR 36.8% for leaf-footed bugs on pomegranate trees?
If so, how much per gallon of water?

Permethrin SFR 36.8%should not be applied to pomegranate trees. You can use Monterey Fruit Tree and Vegetable Systemic instead. According to thelabelfor theFruit Tree and Vegetable Systemic, when treating for leafy bugs on pomegranate trees, you cannot make more than one application per year and do not apply until the trees have flowered or when bees are actively foraging. The mixing ratio is 1.5 fl. oz. per gallon of water. You need to stay within 3 feet of the dripline when pouring around the base of the tree. This needs to be poured evenly around the tree.
