Permethrin SFR 36.8% is labeled for many types of borers and can be used on ornamental trees. For Dogwood Borers listed on page 39 of the product label, the recommended rate is 1 to 2 quarts per 100 gallons (0.32 to 0.64 fl oz per gallon / 3.2 to 6.4 fl oz per 10 gallons of water). Apply to the lower branches and trunks prior to adult emergence. Thorough coverage of bark is required for control. Please review the product label for mix rates and application instructions.
Adult emergence varies according to pest species, host tree, environmental conditions and geographic location, your local Cooperative Extension Office would be a good resource to find out the best time for applications.

Permethrin SFR 36.8% dries clear but contains petroleum distillates so may leave an oil sheen behind on some hard surfaces. It is not recommended to broadcast across hard surfaces, best to only treat cracks and crevices around the room and along baseboards, corners etc as directed on the label. It will not stain paint/walls.
When applying Permethrin SFR 36.8% as a flea/tick dip to dogs you are using a lower rate of the product making it safer for contact. It is still advised to try to prevent them licking themselves until dry if possible just to prevent ingest while wet.
Permethrin SFR 36.8% should only be used around the perimeter of hard floor rooms, such as along baseboards and in cracks and crevices where you should avoid mopping as it will remove the product. Inside applications are bare minimum application areas and are just a light spray/application to the area, should not be dripping.

Permethrin SFR 36.8% cannot be used on corn. Monterey Bug Buster-O would be a better option. Pyrethrins will degrade very rapidly in the sunlight. To make sure of getting the best performance, total coverage of the plant is most important.
