Permethrin SFR can be applied anytime insects are active. We would recommend treating in the morning or later in the evening in the warmer months. This product is a great product choice for treatment outdoors for fleas and ticks. Adding an IGR like Archer IGR impedes the insect's reproductive cycle. Permethrin SFR 36.8% will kill scorpions that come in contact with it. However, a more effective product would be Onslaught Fastcap which is specifically designed for scorpions and other insects that are harder to kill. Onslaught FastCap is a unique insecticide that has an encapsulated pyrethroid plus prallethrin for quick knockdown. The encapsulation really helps products to last longer in the heat and sunlight in desert environments better than the Permethrin SFR would.
Permethrin SFR 36.8% is not labeled for use on container plants so we cannot recommend it. We would recommend something like Bifen IT instead which is known for being super gentle on plants and can be used as a soil drench. The best option with fungus gnats though is to allow the soil to dry out completely as this will kill any larvae in it.

Dominion 2L would be a good option to use for chinch bug control and is a neonicotinoid and systemic so is absorbed by the roots that these bugs feed on. Best applied before they are active so it has time to be absorbed.
Permethrin SFR 36.8% can be applied to cattle. For treating flies/lice, you will apply 4 fl oz per 2 1/2 gallons of low pressure spray or 1/2 fl oz per ear for ear tick. It can also be applied at the rate of 4 oz per 25 gallon (treats 50-100 heads). For scabies, mange, lice and ticks you will wet the animal thoroughly and repeat applications in 10-14 days. For a backrubber/self oiler, you will add 4 fl oz to 10 gallons of diesel oil or suitable mineral oil. For the best control of immature stages, we recommend adding an IGR (Insect Growth Regulator) to your insecticide, such as NyGuard EZ1.

Permethrin SFR is only labeled for mosquito control on livestock premises. A better product for mosquito control outdoors is Talstar P and it can be IGR such as Tekko Pro to help sterilize the adults. It is our most popular product for mosquito control and would be a better option. It is a liquid concentrate that you mix with water and apply using any hand pump sprayer or backpack sprayer. You will mix 1 fl oz of Talstar and 1 fl oz of Tekko Pro per gallon of water. The key is to apply it to all shrubs, trees, and other foliage around the house or patio where you are trying to provide relief. It should be directed not only on top of the leaves and plants but on the underside of the leaves as well, which is where the mosquitoes like to hang out. It should be applied every 30 days for optimum control.

Use the higher rate for fast knockdown and increased residual control. If you’re using the higher rate of 0.8 oz per 1000 sq ft, that would require 35.2 ounces for an acre.
Since Permethrin SFR is labeled for use indoors as a crack and crevice spray, you could potentially use it as part of a carpet beetle treatment program. We recommend adding an Insect Growth Regulator (IGR) when treating for carpet beetles, such as NyGuard IGR. You could also use a ready-to-use product like NyGuard Plus which has both an insecticide and an IGR in one product. A better choice for use in the drop ceiling may be an insecticide dust, though, since it is a dry product that would not damage the tiles, and a dust lasts much longer than a spray in void spaces like a drop ceiling. Delta Dust can be used in a drop ceiling for carpet beetles and other crawling insect pests there. Or you may consider our Carpet Beetle Control Kit which includes the NyGuard Plus, CimeXa Dust, and glue traps.
