    Q
Doesn't spraying Petcor Flea Spray on a cat cause problems since cats are constantly cleaning themselves?
    A
No.  Petcor Flea Spray is only a contact kill and does not leave a residual for any long period of time.  Also, this product uses pyrethrin to kill the fleas, which is a natural plant extract from the chrysanthemum plant.  It is not any more harmful than the flowers and bugs most cats eat in the backyard already.

    Q
Can I use Petcor if I have already applied Frontline Plus to my dog?
Also, if I use Ultracide indoors, what should I use outdoors (concrete & wood deck)?
    A
Yes, Petcor Flea Spray can be applied after Frontline or Advantage.  This is because Petcor is a contact kill only and is for immediate results.  Petcor will kill on contact but will not protect long term like Frontline or Advantage, so you can use the Petcor as needed.  Ultracide is a great choice for indoor use.  For outdoor use we recommend using a combination of Conquer and Archer IGR together in the same one gallon hand pump sprayer.  They provide a great one, two punch and is our most popular sellers for outside flea control.

    Q
    What order do I treat?
I have ordered the Petcor spray and the indoor flea kit. Should I treat one room and then put the cats in that room, then treat the rest of the house? What are your suggestions?
    A
It really will not matter what order you do the treatment in as long as you do the treatments on the same day. Any adult fleas that jump off of the cats will come in contact with the deposits of the Ultracide and the Flea Stoppers within short order. The cats must be out of the area while you apply the Ultracide but can return as soon as the application is dry.

    Q
Do fleas continue to die once Petcor Flea Spray dries?
After I sprayed my dog I noticed fleas were still alive around his rear. Does Petcor continue to work after it dries or do I need to spray again so soon because some fleas did not die?
    A

Yes, Petcor Flea Spray does keep working after it has dried. Petcor will kill adult Fleas on contact, but continues to protect by preventing flea eggs from hatching for up to 30 days. You should continue to apply as needed to kill adult fleas found on your pet.

  • Asked by Jennifer from Jackson, Tn

    Q
Chrysanthemums (and the pyrethrins they produce) are toxic to cats
Disappointed and surprised your website doesn't state this, or at least clarify that their is a risk for cats when using any pyrethrin.
    A

According to the product label for Petcor Flea Spray, it does say that some cats may be sensitive to products containing pyrethrins. Excessive salvation and ear and paw flicking may occur; however, these effects are temporary and not harmful. May cause dermal sensitization (skin allergy). If there are concerns about using certain products, we would recommend reading the product label in full and/or contacting a veterinarian.

    Q
I just got the Petcor, what I want to know is can I bathe my cat first with a flea shampoo?
and then spray him with the Petcor or will that be to much. She has been scratching and made herself bleed so I want to clean her up.
    A
Yes, you would want to bathe your pet before applying the Petcor Flea Spray to get as many fleas off of her as possible. When applying Petcor to cats, its often advised to spray the product on a towel first and then rub down the cat with the towel to get it on its body and fur.

    Q
Can Petcor Flea Spray be used on carpets?
    A

Petcor would not be the appropriate product to use on carpets or furniture for flea control as Petcor is specifically for applications directly to the pets themselves. If you wanted a product to treat carpets you could go with either Precor 2000 Plus, or the products in our Indoor Flea Kit.

  • Asked by Karen from Royal Oak

    Q
Why does the product description specifically state that Petcor contains the Precor IGR?
Thus rendering it the power to be more than a contact kill - supposedly. Then in the Q and A section it specifically says that the product has NO residual capabilities????
    A

We apologize for any confusion.  Petcor Flea Spray contains natural Pyrethrins which have no residual properties, which is what that answer is referring to. There is no residual to continue to kill anything.  (S)-Methoprene (which is an IGR only) will remain for a time though it does not kill anything directly.  It only prevents young from maturing into reproducing adults.  As a result, any pre-adult fleas that then contact the animal it is applied to will not be able to mature.  If you want to continue to kill adults that get onto your animals, then you will have to reapply as needed.

    Q
I have a feral cat that I'm unable to touch. Can I safely use Petcor on her bedding to kill fleas there?
    A
Petcor Flea Spray is a contact kill labeled for use on animals only and does not leave a residual for any long period of time.  If you are not able to apply it to the cat it would be of no use.  You could use Ultracide to treat the pet bedding but it is still always advised to treat the animal for fleas as well so we cannot confirm that just treating the bed will get rid of the fleas effectively.

  • Asked by Monica from Round Rock, Tx

    Q
What else can I effectively use for de-Fleaing my cats?
My cats go " crazy" after I apply front-line to them for flea control, is there anything else I could use instead?
    A
Yes, we offer products like Petcor and Prefurred Plus for cats. Petcor Flea Spray contains Precor IGR, an insect growth regulator that targets fleas in the egg and larval stages of development. As a result, pre-adult fleas cannot produce new infestations of breeding, biting adults. Prefurred may  not be the best option as it contains the same active as the popular Frontline Plus for Cats!  Prefurred Plus will start killing fleas and ticks within just one hour after application, and lasts up to one month. This convenient spot application kills emerging adults before they lay eggs. Prefurred Plus for Cats will  remain effective even after bathing and exposure to sunlight. Prefurred Plus is for kittens and cats 12 weeks or older.  Each box contains 3 treatments for 3 months of protection. Please let us know if you have anymore questions.

  • Asked by Brenda from Paris Texas

    Q
If safe for pets why does the human need gloves to apply Petcor Flea Spray on them?
One of your answers says to apply on cats, wear gloves then apply product to a cloth then wipe your cat with the cloth. If this is safe for cats which have sensitive skin, then why is it not safe for human skin when applying to the cat?
    A

Wearing gloves is a safety precaution recommended by every manufacturer when dealing with chemical products such as Petcor Flea Spray.  No one knows how every person will react if contact is made so it is recommended to avoid skin contact as much as possible, wearing gloves is part of that.

    Q
    Petcor on pet's bedding
Why do you recommend Ultracide instead of PEtcor 2000 for treating your home and pet bedding?
    A
Petcor is specifically for your PET, not the belongings in your home. It's formulated for use directly on pet skin to control the fleas and help kill any in conjunction with your flea topicals like Frontline. Ultracide is not for use on pets at all but is for use on flooring and pet bedding and has the quickest knockdown of fleas in the home compared to some of the other flea aerosols like it we carry.

  • Asked by Jeff from Barbabdos

    Q
    Can Petcor kill sand flies?
Sand flies are attacking my dogs. I need to know if I spray Petcor directly on sand flies, will they die?
    A

Petcor Flea Spray is only labeled to kill fleas, ticks, and lice. It does contain natural Pyrethrins, which is a non-selective insecticide, so it will likely kill other insects on contact. Another option is Wondercide Flea and Tick Control for Pets and Home, which will kill most pests on contact and can be used daily.
