No, Phantom Termiticide Insecticide cannot be used as a general surface spray under crawlspaces or around the foundation. It is limited in its use to termite applications in the soil under the crawl space around the foundation and piers, or used around windows, doors, and areas pipes/wires enter the home on the outside of the structure to prevent insects at those potential entry sites. It cannot be used around the perimeter foundation as a general spray. A more appropriate product for this purpose would be Temprid FX.
There is no actual wait period because the product have differing active ingredients. We also wanted to comment that is completely normal to see bedbugs two weeks after the Phantom application. Phantom Insecticide is a fantastic product when you need a delayed kill action from an insecticide. It allows the product to transfer from one bug to the next just from touch and grooming/food sharing habits to eliminate the colony at its source. With roaches, an IGR like Gentrolis important no matter what insecticide is being used as you need to stop the current population from being able to continue to grow in number and lay more eggs. When using a delayed kill product like Phantom, its even more crucial to use the IGR as they will have a longer time to live after crossing the insecticide barrier than they would with other insecticides, which means more time to progress in their life cycle and drop egg sacs. Phantom is used at the rate of 3 oz in 1 gallon of water, and you can mix 1 oz of Gentrol IGR Concentrate into the same gallon of solution. Anything you mix up should be used within 24-48 hours at most.
Phantom Termiticide Insecticide is limited for indoor applications to crack and crevice or spot treatments only, using coarse low pressure specified to areas where labeled pests normally inhabit or are likely to infest. This product should not be applied near any type of food, or directly to food packaging or surfaces where food may come into contact with. Please refer to the product label for complete application instructions, and use as directed.
Phantom Termiticide Insecticide is extremely limited on where it can be used outside a structure, so window and door frame areas as you sprayed before would be the main treatment zones it is allowed to be used. Spraying the wood deck itself is not actually going to solve or help the springtail problem, as the nest is coming from below the soil around the home somewhere. The source needs to try to be found, or steps taken (if they aren't already) to reduce as much moisture around the home as possible. Springtails need excess moisture to thrive, so anything holding it to the soil such as mulch, pinestraw, rock, or concrete patios are areas they could be coming from. Many customers will take a termite treatment approach to rod or trench along the foundation or concrete areas in the soil and saturate it so the insecticide gets deeper in the ground where they are traveling. The Bifen LP granules and spray are some of the go to choices for springtails, and any that land on the treated surface will die from the chemical.
