I used Precor 2000 Plus Premise spray on my bed wood frame and the wall around the bed, did I need to mop and clean it up before I go to sleep after it dry? I already used 8 cans for my house, hopefully, it works
    A

If you mop the floors where Precor 2000 has been applied you will be effectively removing any residual control you would have gotten from the application. You should mop and steam clean prior to the application and you can mop and steam clean two weeks after the application.

    Q
What should I do about a garage infestation?
I had some foster kittens in my garage temporarily that were not treated for fleas. The kittens are fostered out to new homes now, but unfortunately, I discovered that my garage is infested with fleas. My garage is attached to my home but there isn’t a direct doorway into my home from the garage. It is not heated, and the floor is unsealed concrete. I tried just spraying the floor with the same product I used in my grass, but it only killed the live adult fleas I am assuming. My yard has no flea activity but my garage is still infested. I did spray with Precor 2000 about 2 weeks ago and it only seems like the fleas have gotten worse. I did see that there needs to be activity in this area but we do not use the garage often since the fleas have come about. I will start to vacuum more often and apply another Precor 2000 treatment. Do you have any suggestions for other products that I can use in an area such as this??
    A

Be sure to clean out the garage and vacuum daily (discarding of contents immediately after away from the home) as well as applying your second application of Precor 2000 Plus 2000 Premise Spray two weeks after the initial application (remove vehicles and anything else on the floor surfaces and vacuum prior to treatment). Here is our flea treatment guide for additional information.

    Q
Precor was sprayed on our carpet 11 days ago. I have yet to let my 10 month old crawl and play on the floor.
I have vacuumed multiple times a day but am still nervous to let her craw and play since it says it’s active for 14 days and can kill fleas up to 7 months. When is it safe to let her crawl and play on the floor?
    A

Precor 2000 Plus Premise Spray - 16 oz. can is safe for children once dry typically after an hour, if it has been 11 days that is plenty of time to let them return. Only tiny insects have the capability of coming into contact with such small particles on the carpet fibers and being effected.

    Q
My walk in closed has carpet. Can I spray Precor in there or do I need to remove or wash all clothes?
    A

Precor 2000 Plus Premise Spray is labeled for use on carpet. You should hold the can 3 feet above the carpet and no closer. For best results with Surface/Carpet treatments, vacuum thoroughly before spraying and discard vacuum bag in outside trash.  Do not need to remove items from the closet if not on the floor where you are directing the application.

    Q
Where do I need to spray?
I get that I need to spray the carpets and rugs. But do I need to do the wood floors and tile too? What about the kitchen? Should I spray everything from corner to corner? Or should I just do the carpet/rugs and leave the tile/wood? Or should I do the carpets/rugs and spray along the baseboards everywhere else? Thanks.
    A

Precor 2000 Plus Premise Spray - 16 oz. can is intended to be sprayed where fleas will harbor. Generally, fleas only thrive in carpet/rugs/upholstery so those are the areas that you would want to focus on. You can spray the perimeter of the flooring, where the baseboards are if you feel there is a heavy population but no need to broadcast the products in those areas.

    Q
Is Precor 2000 Plus Premise Spray effective to be used on carpet, tile, and laminate surfaces as well as to treat leather couch, furniture and pet bedding? Currently using vinegar and water mixture to repel off furniture.
    A

Precor 2000 Plus Premise Spray is perfectly safe on just about any surface although treat hard surface flooring like ceramic, tile or hardwood floors would not be the main areas to focus since fleas will not rest or lay eggs on hard surfaces. You may see them there as they jump from location to location, but that is not where the female will lay eggs. Focus on areas where pets frequent, such as in and around pet’s sleeping and resting areas..Apply as a spot treatment only to surfaces of furniture, rugs, carpets, drapes, and around all pet resting areas until “slightly damp”. Do not saturate upholstered furniture, carpets, rugs, etc as this will hinder the results.

Remember to vacuum all surfaces and cracks and crevices along baseboards, cushions, and flooring before the first application and then continue to vacuum frequently 2-3 times a week in between treatments.

Follow up applicaitons should be done every 14 days until you are no longer seeing activity. This can take multiple applications and months to eradicate completely. Vacuuming is key to quicker results.

Although we cannot say for certain that vinegar would counteract the residual effect of the Precor 2000 Plus, it likely could. For specific product support regarding this question, the manufacturer Zoecon can be reached by calling 1-800-248-7763 or by visiting their website.

    Q
Do you need to air out your home once returning after the 2-3 hour mark?
    A
When using Precor 2000 Plus Premise Spray ventilation after applying is only necessary if you are in an enclosed space with no ventilation. This product does not have a strong odor and normally only would be applied to carpeting and upholstery and not directly into the air where you would be concerned about breathing it in.

    Q
Should I treat all areas of my home
We rescued a kitten who had fleas. She has been quarantined to bathroom but when we first brought her home she was in carpeted family room. I have treated family room, bathroom she was in, bathroom she stayed in during treatment, and our bedroom that has the bathroom attached to. We do have a dog who is on frontline. My question is should I be treating all areas of my home due to the dog or us carrying fleas from one area to another. Since we know the forward came on the kitten and we discovered first night we have been on top of it with your product but asking for your expertise to keep our house flea free. Kitten will remain in quarantine until she is old enough to receive flea treatment from vet.
    A

You will need to treat every area that your pets have access to with Precor 2000 Plus Premise Spray - 16 oz. can , as well as any carpeted areas. For proper flea treatment, be sure to be vacuuming frequently and treat every 14 days. Here is our Flea Treatment Guide

    Q
Would this be safe to use around a 6 week old kitten? She was rescued and has fleas.
Vet said she is too little for flea treatments. Bathing in Dawn 2x a week and flea combing. Vacuuming, steaming, and washing bedding and the room she is in daily. If I can use product should I remove her completely from house or to a different room until dry?
    A
Yes, Precor 2000 Plus Premise Spray is safe for pets and kids once the application has dried completely.

    Q
After treating with Precor 2000 Plus Premise Spray 4 months ago, the fleas are back. Is this normal?
Did 3 treatments in October and November 2021, now March 2022 - fleas have infested again.
    A

Fleas can reinfest the home months after the original flea treatments have been completed if pets in the home are not on flea medicine and/or the outdoor lawn areas are being treated monthly for fleas outdoors.

Fleas do require repeat applications at 14 day intervals and typically 3-4 retreatments are needed. Vacuuming frequently before and in between treatments is strongly recommended to stimulate the flea eggs into hatching and come into contact with the insecticide treatment. This is important as flea eggs are protected from insecticides while inside the eggs and they can stay dormant for up to 7 months. The vibration of vacuuming stimulates the eggs to hatch sooner therefore contacting the insecticide.

Please view our Pet Flea Control Products and Flea Treatment Guide for information on treating outside the home for fleas which can also come from wildlife even if pets are not in the home.
