Precor 2000 Plus Premise Spray is perfectly safe on just about any surface although treat hard surface flooring like ceramic, tile or hardwood floors would not be the main areas to focus since fleas will not rest or lay eggs on hard surfaces. You may see them there as they jump from location to location, but that is not where the female will lay eggs. Focus on areas where pets frequent, such as in and around pet’s sleeping and resting areas..Apply as a spot treatment only to surfaces of furniture, rugs, carpets, drapes, and around all pet resting areas until “slightly damp”. Do not saturate upholstered furniture, carpets, rugs, etc as this will hinder the results.
Remember to vacuum all surfaces and cracks and crevices along baseboards, cushions, and flooring before the first application and then continue to vacuum frequently 2-3 times a week in between treatments.
Follow up applicaitons should be done every 14 days until you are no longer seeing activity. This can take multiple applications and months to eradicate completely. Vacuuming is key to quicker results.

Fleas can reinfest the home months after the original flea treatments have been completed if pets in the home are not on flea medicine and/or the outdoor lawn areas are being treated monthly for fleas outdoors.
Fleas do require repeat applications at 14 day intervals and typically 3-4 retreatments are needed. Vacuuming frequently before and in between treatments is strongly recommended to stimulate the flea eggs into hatching and come into contact with the insecticide treatment. This is important as flea eggs are protected from insecticides while inside the eggs and they can stay dormant for up to 7 months. The vibration of vacuuming stimulates the eggs to hatch sooner therefore contacting the insecticide.
Please view our Pet Flea Control Products and Flea Treatment Guide for information on treating outside the home for fleas which can also come from wildlife even if pets are not in the home.
