The new Spider Control Kit contains the professional products you need to prevent or eliminate spider activity in your home. Using the three products in this kit after a thorough inspection of the target area will lead to a successful spider treatment program. This kit contains the liquid concentrate Temprid FX in easy-to-use single dose bottles. Temprid FX has two active ingredients that target most common crawling and flying pests long after the initial spray. The included CB-80 is a ready-to-use aerosol insecticide that kills spiders and insects quickly on contact. Finally, Catchmaster 100i Insect Monitors trap spiders and insects to help identify which pests are present and to monitor your treatment.
You will need a pump sprayer to apply the Temprid FX concentrate.
Spider control should always begin with a good inspection to identify hot spots where spiders or insects may enter the structure and where they hide. Using the pesticides and glue traps included in the Spider Control Kit will help to eliminate insects, the spiders’ source of food. By treating for other pests besides just the spiders, the spiders will go elsewhere to hunt or starve. It is also important to knockdown existing spider webs before applying insecticides. Not only does this discourage spiders from rebuilding in the same area, but it also provides a clean surface for you to apply your spray.
How to Apply the Spider Control Kit
STEP 1 - INDOOR SPRAY, Residual - Temprid FX
Temprid FX is a liquid concentrate that must be diluted with water only and applied with a pump sprayer such as the Chapin 1 Gallon Pump Sprayer. This unique insecticides contains two active ingredients: beta-cyfluthrin kills insects quickly, while imidacloprid offers long-term, non-repellent control. This double mode of action makes Temprid FX versatile and effective.
*To mix the Temprid FX, first shake the concentrate well. Fill your sprayer tank with 1/3 - 1/2 of the desired volume of water, then add the desired amount of Temprid FX concentrate. Agitate the tank before you finish filling the sprayer with water, then agitate again before your application.
*Use 1 x 8mL dose (1 bottle) of Temprid FX per gallon of water for prevention. Use 2 x 8mL doses (2 bottles) per gallon of water for severe infestations.
*Apply Temprid FX in places where spiders and insects are likely to enter the structure or to hide, such as around door frames and window frames, in corners, along baseboards, under and behind appliances, in closets and storage areas, and where utilities enter the structure.
*Use diluted solution within 24 hours of mixing. Agitate spray solution if your application is interrupted.
*Store Temprid FX concentrate in a temperate area, out of direct sunlight, and out of reach of children or pets.
*Keep pets and other people out of the treatment area until the application is dry, usually about an hour.
*Temprid FX will leave a clear residual for months after application. Temprid FX may be reapplied indoors as needed, but you must wait at least 7 days between applications.
STEP 2 - INDOOR SPRAY, Contact - CB-80
CB-80 is a ready-to-use aerosol that contains the natural active ingredient pyrethrum plus a synergist for faster initial kill of contacted pests. CB-80 is a great contact and flushing insecticide for most common crawling and flying pests.
*Use CB-80 with the broad nozzle as a spot treatment to kill spiders and insects on contact.
*Use the included crack and crevice straw to flush out cracks and crevices. For help inserting the straw into the nozzle, see our aerosol video. (Hint: needle-nosed pliers are a huge help.)
*Use CB-80 as needed to treat spiders and insects on contact.
*CB-80 will have a slight odor when sprayed. This odor will dissipate as the spray dries.
*Do not apply CB-80 directly to food contact surfaces, or in ways that would contaminate food, utensils, or food handling surfaces.
*Store CB-80 in a cool, dry place out of reach of children and pets.
Glue traps are a great way to help identify where pests are hiding and which pests are present. Glue traps are also an easy way to reduce spider populations, since spiders are tough to kill with insecticides directly. This step is simple but important.
Separate each card along the perforated lines to create three smaller boards from each larger card. This will create a total of 12 monitors from the 4 larger cards.
Fold each trap gently to create a right triangle shape. Remove the adhesive covering on the angled top tab, then firmly press the logoed panel to the adhesive, creating a secure triangle trap with three openings.
Carefully remove the interior paper to expose the glue surface inside the trap.
Place glue traps in areas where spiders or insects may hide or travel, such as in and under cabinets, behind toilets, under appliances, in closets, and in corners. If desired, remove the cover sheet on the bottom of each trap to expose the adhesive. Press firmly to a clean, dry surface to secure traps in place.
Monitor traps weekly to check your progress.
Replace traps if full of insects, dust, or other debris.
