    Q
Can Precor 2000 Plus be used on hardwood floors?
I have all hardwood floors in my place. Should l spray the precor only around the baseboards (do I need to spray the floors?), under the couch cushions and creases only? What about the boards that go around half the rooms and my wooden floor to ceiling cabinets?
    A

Precor 2000 Plus Premise Spray is perfectly safe on just about any surface. You should always test the spray first in a corner or inconspicuous area to be sure, but we have never had any issues. Remember to vacuum all surfaces and cracks and crevices of the hardwood floor and around baseboards first before the application. You should also vacuum often over the next week and apply again exactly 14 days later after your first application. Be sure to vacuum again before your second treatment. Spray underneath couch cushions and furniture, as well as any rugs or pet bedding in the home where fleas could congregate easier. Fleas will not be in floor to ceiling cabinets or other areas of that sort as they have nothing to survive on in those areas and will stay near pets and fibers they can cling to.

    Q
Do I need to spray the carpet in the middle of the room? How long does Precor stay in the carpet?
If it needs to be reapplied after 2 weeks, then how long does it stay in the carpet if it is suppose to work for 7 months?
    A
You need to spray the entire carpet for flea control. The IGR does last for 7 months to prevent re-infestation but the eggs that were laid prior to the application will keep hatching because they are not sterile and the reapplication is to kill the newly emerged fleas.

    Q
Will I have to leave my house with my pets if I use Precor 2000 Plus Premise Spray, and if so, for how long?
    A
You do not need to take pets out of the house completely. You should place pets in another area outside of the treatment zone while spraying and until the application has dried, usually about 30 minutes after the application.

    Q
I have a bad flea problem in my unfinished basement with concrete floors, will this work?
    A

Yes, Precor 2000 Plus Premise Spray would work great to kill those fleas and prevent reinfestations for 7 months. Precor 2000 Plus Premise Spray is labeled to be used on a wide variety of floor surfaces. You should hold the can 3 feet above the carpet and no closer.  If you hold it 3 feet away, the spray will be dry when it hits the carpet and you will get the proper coverage area out of the can.  Treat in 10 second bursts.  If you continually depress the can for longer than 10 seconds, the can will foam at the top.  Also, the can is made to only work at room temperature.  It will not work properly if the temps are below 70 degrees. Warm to room temp. first before using. You should get 7 to 8 minutes of continuous spraying per can.

    Q
How do I apply Precor 2000 Plus inside a car ?
Another questions, should i apply precor 2000 to the car seats ? After applying precor 2000 can i drive the car normally , i'm afraid that sun & air entering the car due to its motion would shorten or remove the residual effect of precor 2000 as i can't vaccum my car every 2 days in the garage to make fleas get out of the cocoon and i have to take it to a car care center to do vaccuming.
    A
We recommend to focus on cracks and crevices, seems, folds, and floorboards. Outdoor elements should not lessent the residual of Precor 2000 Plus. Spray Precor 2000 PLus every 14 days and let dry completely before re-entering the car.

    Q
    Mopping after use.
I have tile floors within my entire home. I have treated the whole house, including all couches, mattresses, crevices along baseboards, ect. The can states to vacuum all areas consistently, however, in my case I don't vacuum my tile I mop it. I was wondering if this would mop up the insecticide? And is there any household cleaning product that may be beneficial in the aid of flea and flea egg extermination (like a mixture of bleach and water?). Any advice would be very helpful, I have four dogs our floors get dirty quick! But don't want to lessen the effectiveness of the precor application.
    A
Mopping can be done before the application and you should wait to mop for about two weeks after the application. Please test the Precor on an inconspicuous area of the floor to be sure it does not mar the finish.

    Q
When I can shampoo the carpets without effecting the treatment of Precor 2000 Plus Premise Spray?
I applied Pt Alpine, vacuuming daily and reapplied with Petcor 2000 2 weeks later continuing to vacuum for another 2 weeks.
    A

The IGR in the Precor 2000 Plus Premise Spray provides up to 7 month residual. However, any type of shampooing will take the residuals of these products completely out of your carpeted areas. We recommend that you leave the products in place so that they can continue to work for you against a re-infestation.

    Q
    How come precor doesn't work?
I have been using Precor for 2 months now, spraying weekly instead of every 14 days. I vacuum before treatment and about twice a week after but I'm getting 1 - 2 bites once a week. I caught a live one on my foot this afternoon after I vacuumed. I don't know what else to do. Should I switch to Ultracide or stick with Precor?
    A
Precor 2000 Plus Premise is an excellent product and should be working. It is possible that the flea problem was worse than you initially assessed. We would recommend continuing to treat but using the products as directed and not treating before 10-14 days. Using products more often than labeled for could possibly build up an immunity to them. Ultracide is an excellent option. It contains an IGR which will stop the fleas from reproducing. Make sure to use the product as directed on the label.

    Q
I have a 9 month old baby who likes to crawl. Is Precor 2000 safe to use with a baby?
    A
Precor 2000 Plus Flea Spray is safe once it is dry. It does not activate again if the area gets wet. We would not recommend spraying while children and/or animals are in the area. They can return once the product is dry. This can take between 2-3 hours. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

    Q
Is Precor 2000 Plus Premise Spray safe around pets?
I have been told that pets do not need to be completely removed from the house when using the aerosol precor 2000, only put in a separate room until treated area is dry and ventilated. Do they need to be completely removed from house to use the precor fogger?
    A

Unless you're treating your entire house with Precor 2000 Plus Premise Spray, your pets don't need to be removed from the home, they can just be placed in a separate room. Your pets can be allowed back to the treated areas once the treatment is completely dry.

    Q
Can I use Precor 2000 Premise Spray on my mattress and leather furniture?
    A

Precor 2000 Plus Premise Spray can be applied to the following areas using a sweeping motion, applying in
a light uniform spray to all surfaces of furniture, rugs, carpets, drapes, and around all pet resting areas. We do not suggest applying to the surfaces you will have skin contact such as cushions and the surface of the mattress. Before treatment, make a test application to upholstery, drapery, lightcolored, delicate fabrics, or wood surfaces in an inconspicuous place. We do carry Steri-Fab that can be applied and dried prior to putting the linens (laundered in heat) on the bed. The surface should completely dry first which will take about 30-45 minutes. You will vacuum daily and apply Precor 2000 Plus Premise Spray once every two weeks (minimum of two applications). Please take a few moments to review our treatment article on How to Get Rid of Fleas for more helpful information on a successful eradication program.

    Q
Does Precor 2000 Plus kill bed bugs?
I read where bed bugs are resistant in some cases to Permethrin but I was curious as to the other ingredients and their effectiveness.
    A

Precor 2000 Plus Premise Spray is only labeled to kill fleas. We recommend treating bedbugs with one of our Bedbug Kits. Please take a few moments to read our article on How to Get Rid of Bedbugs. You will find some helpful information and videos on treating this insect. There are some pyrethroid resistant strains of bedbugs and we offer products that will help with these such as Temprid SC in our Bedbug Kit#2.

    Q
Do I have to throw away the vac bag every time while using Precor 2000 Plus?
I have read that I should throw away the vacuum bag every time I vacuum and I'm concerned that it could get rather expensive, if I'm vacuuming every day. Is there something I can put in the bag, or could I keep my vacuum outside and turn it on immediately upon bringing it in to vacuum each day?
    A
It is recommended that the bag be thrown out after each vacuuming to keep the fleas from escaping if the bag stays in the vacuum.  We are not aware of anything that can be added to the bag to prevent having to throw it out after each vacuuming.

    Q
When can I mop my floors after applying Precor 2000 Plus Premise Spray - 16 oz. can, 24 hours or 2 weeks?
Just got the floors sprayed. We have hardwood floors. I came back 9 hours later and my floors were shiny and slippery in some places. Ive read on here that you recommend that we mop in 2 weeks to some and also said we can mop in 24 hours, which is it? Theres no way this can be safe for my 1 year old to be walking and or crawling around on. It's a poison, an insecticide. Our Orkin man wore a mandatory respirator. So when can we mop this stuff up?
    A

Precor 2000 Plus Premise Spray - 16 oz. can really does not need to be applied as a broadcast across hard surfaces as this is not a habitable place for fleas to stay.  Treatments should be directed to cracks and crevices around the rooms with this flooring and any cracks in between boards. You can go ahead and mop anytime if you wish but it will remove the product from these areas.  Once dry after application the area is safe to contact though as only a small amount of active ingredient is there and is only enough to harm a small insect.

  • Asked by Anna from Texas

    Q
How do I apply Precor 2000 on a two story home?
I live in a two story town home, most of the stuff upstairs, where we have carpet, had to be taken down stairs in order to apply Precor 2000 easily. We are trying to get rid of the fleas up stairs before treating downstairs. Since most of our stuff is now downstairs and also have fleas downstairs, can I treat one story at a time or will the fleas from down stairs be going upstairs? What is the best way to apply on a 2 story home?
    A
You should plan on treating upstairs and downstairs with Precor 2000 Plus at the same time so you are not constantly re-infesting the treated areas by carrying fleas from one part of the house to the other. Remember to vacuum all surfaces and cracks and crevices of the floor and around baseboards first before you apply Precor 2000. You should also vacuum often over the next week and apply again exactly 14 days later after your first application. Be sure to vacuum again before your second treatment.
