Prime Source's Quinclorac 1.5L Herbicide is a selective, post-emergent herbicide that can be safely applied to many types of turf to control a variety of broadleaf and grassy weeds, including crabgrass. Quinclorac 1.5L Select can be applied to both residential and non-residential turf. Quinclorac 1.5L Select can be applied from seven days prior to seeding and up to twenty eight days after selected weeds have emerged. The use of methylated seed oil, such as Duo Stick Select is recommended to greatly enhance the effectiveness of the product.
The Quinclorac 1.5L Select is an herbicide that is used for cool season and warm season turfgrasses. It can be used for both residential and non-residential areas in a wide range of turf species. This herbicide is great to use for post emergence control of barnyardgrass, crabgrass, blackmedic, clover, dandelion, annual foxtail, common slander and thymeleaf speedwell.
Available in 64 oz (half gallon) size. It is an easy to measure liquid formulation, compared to dry Prime Source Quinclorac 75DF formulation.
For use in California: Biotypes of large and smooth crabgrass in California have shown varied response to this product. If control failure occurs following a full or split application, DO NOT reapply this product. Change to a herbicide with a different mode of action.
Prime Source Quinclorac 1.5L Select Herbicide contains the same active ingredient as Drive XLR8 Herbicide Crabgrass Killer.

Mode of Action
Quinclorac 1.5L Select is an auxin agonist and is classified as a quinoline carboxylic acid. It is absorbed by foliage and roots and translocated throughout the plant. The control symptoms exhibited by broadleaf weeds include leaf and stem curl or twisting, and chlorosis. Susceptible grasses demonstrate stunting, chlorosis, and gradual reddening followed by necrosis and death. Apply Quinclorac 1.5L Select to actively growing weeds as post-emergence broadcast or spot sprays using the turf species, rate and growth stages indicated on the lab.
The use of Quinclorac 1.5L Select before or after seeding or overseeding a turf area will not significantly interfere with the turf grass seed germination and growth of those grass types identified as tolerant or moderately tolerant on the label.
I Love It - Crabgrass Doesn't!
By Ron on 08/09/2018
Seems like I'm always battling something in the yard. This year is invasion of the crabgrass. I missed my summer schedule of pre-emergent and I'm paying the price for it in late July and early August. Won't do that again! Easy to use and in the smaller bottle it even comes with a meter bulb so you can measure out the correct amount. Add the simple amount to 1 gallon of water, add some blue marker dye, and some surfactent and throw it down. I use a semi-fine mist, but have recently switched over to a fan tip and that works much better. Following instructions and not to apply it when it gets too hot I have noticed about a 75% die off of crabgrass on the first application. Only reason why I need a second application is because some of the crabgrass is in that in-between stage where you can't kill it with quinclorac. So I wait a week or two and let those have it again and that does a really good job of getting them. As long as you follow the directions, and the video on how to get rid of crabgrass on DoMyOwn you'll have very good results. Great shopping with DoMyOwn. Great sales, service, and fast shipping. My favorite source for yard-pest-weed management!

CrabGrass doesn't stand a chance. Saves your Gr-ass.
By Paul on 07/25/2017
After failing miserably with name brand products from local retailers, I watched a DoMyOwn video on Youtube to see what to use on crabgrass. I landed on Quinclorac concentrate in an easy-to-use liquid dispenser. I ordered and paid online and was lucky enough to live 18 miles from the warehouse where the package was waiting for me when I arrived 30 minutes later. This stuff needs a surfactant to stop the water from beading up, so add that to your purchase.

Ok product but looking for alternative
By Hans on 08/16/2019
To be fair I had a lot of established crabgrass and I was hoping for total knockdown but this product reduced the issue by about 50%. Good news is I have half the crabgrass I started with, the bad news is I still have half the crabgrass.

Prime Source Quinclorac 1.5L Herbicide should be used in temperatures below 85 and not during the heat of the day. For higher temperature times it would be best to apply in the morning before the day gets hot and the area has time to dry.

Prime Source Quinclorac 1.5L Select Herbicide will kill crabgrass. However as a general rule, herbicides should applied in temperatures below 85 degrees to avoid damaging the turf. If your temperatures reach higher than 85 degrees during the day, you will need to apply in the early morning or in the evening when temps are cooler.
