  • Asked by Dan

    Q
Does this product or alike come in smaller quantities?
I want a product to stunt growth (not kill) on the football field striping. I would use it in the paint to cut down on the number of applications for the season. Thank You.
    A

Two alternatives to the Primo MAXX Plant Growth Regulator would be Atrimmec Plant Growth Regulator or  Edgeless Turf Grass Regulator . The label does not indicate if either of these products can be mixed with "field" paint, so separate treatments might be necessary. Edgeless Turf Grass Regulator does indicate you can add a turf indicator to the product to help mark where you have applied. We recommend contacting the manufacturer's directly for further information.

  • Asked by Thomas from Raleigh, Nc
    09/06/2019
    Q
How late can I apply Primo MAXX Plant Growth Regulator on bermuda?
Also when can I apply this product to newly sodded areas?
    A

The Primo MAXX Plant Growth Regulator product label states the following:  Apply Primo MAXX to actively growing turf. If turf is going into dormancy because of high or low temperatures or lack of moisture, apply a lower rate of Primo MAXX. Repeat applications of Primo MAXX may be made as soon as the turf resumes growth or more suppression is desired.

It can be applied to newly sodded areas once the turf has established a good root system and after the 3rd or 4th mowing.

  • Asked by Keith from Bound Brook, Nj
    03/23/2019
    Q
Can Primo MAXX be used on Zoysiagrass when overseeding and establishment of a cool season grass
Similar to as labeled for Bermudagrass. Second question can this be sprayed with Tenacity or in a rotation to suppress the Zoysiagrass and establish cool season turf, this would be a fall project.
    A

Primo MAXX Plant Growth Regulator does not give information regarding overseeding over zoysiagrass on the label so would not be recommended. Tenacity is not labeled to control zoysiagrass, only states on the label that it can be sensitive to it.  You can use both products around the same time, because some herbicides can injure turf, tank mixes with Primo MAXX should be tested on a small scale before widespread use.
