    Q
I have small black ants in my attic. Is this effective for them?
The ants are crawling down the bathroom ceiling vent & ending up in our tub. Seems they are attracted to moisture. Also, would this product work on stink bugs?
    A
The Pro Control Plus is only to be used in non inhabited areas like attics and crawlspaces. Although this would kill some of the ants and any stink bugs that are present when the bomb goes off, this will not get rid of either insect at the source. Foggers only effect insects that are out in the open while it is going off, so any stink bug or other insect that is hiding behind a wall void or in a crevice will not be affected by it. If the ants are coming into your bathroom, using a bait combination for them to take back to kill the entire colony and the queen would be a better option. You could try our Complete Ant Kit which provides both nutritional needs that ants need-sugars and proteins- as well as stations to place the bait in and stick near the vent or above the tub. You can also place the stations in the attic if you see where they are trailing. To help prevent ants from coming in your home in the future, check to make sure no bushes, flowers or trees touch the side of your home to allow a bridge inside, and treat the foundation and around windows and doors with a general insecticide like Talstar P. For stink bugs already in your home, there is not much you can do at this point as the ones you are seeing have been in there all winter and are now coming out as it is warmer outside. To prevent a re-infestation, you can use our Overwintering Kit for Stink Bugs to start treating your home once a month from August through at least November. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

    Q
Is the Pro Control Plus safe to use in my home attic?
I am concerned about smell or chemicals coming down from the attic into the bedrooms of my hole.
    A
You can use Pro Control Plus in the attic as long as it is larger than 5' x 5' but it is possible that some of the product could get into areas down below through vents or cracks in the ceiling. Since Pro Control Plus is labeled to be used in homes in the main living space this really shouldn't  be a problem. Plan on leaving your home for at least 2 hours after activating the fogger. Ventilate enclosed areas before returning. Foggers do have a bit of a smell but in most cases the smell dissipates after a couple of hours.

    Q
Will Pro Control Plus Total Release kill bedbugs?
I have been spraying using powder for 9 monthes now to get read of bed bugs will this help. If not do you have anything else
    A
We do not recommend any type of fogger or bomb for bedbug control. Pro Control Plus Total Release fogger is made to kill exposed insects. In most instances bedbugs keep themselves concealed in hidden places to avoid detection and they will not come into contact with fogged insecticides. We recommend that you take a look at our Bedbug Kits. These kits come with all of the products that we recommend to eliminate bedbugs plus they come with step by step instructions that will help you treat more effectively. You must follow each step of the instructions, and you must be very thorough (treat every cracks, crevice, void, tuft or fold) and consistently do the retreatments every 7-10 days to get eliminate this pest.

    Q
Will the Pro Control Plus Total Release fogger kill black widows and their eggs in my garage? We have a lot of black widows!
    A
Pro Control Plus Total Release fogger will kill just about any insect that is out and exposed at the time of treatment. You should note that the fogger will not penetrate cracks, crevices or other areas that are hidden. Foggers go straight up into the air, float around for a short period of time and then settle onto surfaces. This means that any spiders that are hidden in cracks, crevices, storage boxes, etc will not be exposed to the fogger. You can use the fogger to get rid of any exposed insects and then follow up with a crack and crevice treatment such as Cy-Kick Aerosol. Also, spider eggs will most likely not be killed by any insecticide. The only surefire way to kill the eggs is to crush them or burn them.

    Q
Can you suggest a bomb for thrips to use in my home and truck?
I used Talstar P to try and get rid of the thrips but it doesn't seen to be working. I'm also using a professional lawn service to treat the yard. They are using Talstar P also. This has gone on for two months now and my house and truck are infested completely. Please help me with my problem.
    A
There are not any foggers or bombs that are labeled for thrips. Of course this doesn't mean that the fogger will not kill thrips, only that the manufacturer hasn't intended it for this type of use or that they haven't tested the product for this pest. There are no foggers that you can use in your vehicle as the space is much too small to accommodate the foggers requirements. We do carry a fogger that you could use in your home, Pro Control Plus Total Release which contains two active ingredients 0.50% Pyrethrins for a fast knockdown, 0.10% Cyfluthrin for a long lasting residual. Also, Talstar P will take time to kill thrips and you should allow several weeks to see the complete results. We recommend that you contact your local cooperative extension office to request an insect identification if you have not done so already. Failure to properly identify an insect can lead to a pest control program failure as different insects require different treatments.

    Q
I need something to kill wasps/hornets entering my home in the fall.
For the second year in a row, we have wasps/hornets entering the family room to get out of the cold. Our pest control company cannot find the source and we even changed companies this year. We have a small crawl space attic and have closed off the recessed lighting. We have a fireplace with a top flue that closes shut and a small crawl space under the family room. Should I try to use a fogger or something else? My wife and children are allergic to bees, so it is critical that I get rid of them.
    A
You could use a bug bomb or fogger in the attic space if you have an attic space.  If they are in your home then this usually means that they are coming in and out from somewhere around your home.  They have to get out somehow to get food.  Your only option is to find this place where they fly in and out.  Once you find their entry/exit point then you can treat that area directly with a dust and take care of the problem.

    Q
Would this product be a good product for killing yellow jackets?
The nest appears to be behind the brick wall. They are entering between the brick and the brick mold.I was thinking about cutting a hole in the brick molding big enough to fit this fogger in and try to fog them out. Will this work? I have sprayed wasp spray, etc. and that was not good.
    A
No, typically Pro Control Plus Total Release Aerosol is not a good product for bees. Dusting is the best option if you know where the bees/wasps are entering and exiting the nest.  Our most popular dust  for bees/wasp is Tempo Dust.  You will need a hand duster to apply it with.  It usually works within 24 to 48 hours. You want to go up to the opening where they are flying in and out of at dusk or at night when they are not active and puff twice directly into the hole.  Then pull the duster out and puff directly at the hole to cover the opening from about 5 inches away.  This is the most efficient and fastest way to eliminate a bee/yellow jacket/wasp nest.

If you want to give tempo dust a try or read about it further here is a link:  http://www.domyownpestcontrol.com/tempo-dust-p-391.html

The hand duster to apply the Tempo Dust is also on the page linked above.

    Q
Are there additional concerns when using Pro Control Plus foggers in a home with a pregnant woman?
We have a baby due in about a month, and the apartment we are renting has an occasional flea (neighbors cats are the source I believe). Should I avoid this product all together or perhaps just use additional precautions?
    A
Just common sense precautions need to be used. All people and pets should be out of the home while the foggers are being deployed, and they should stay out for at last two hours (Be sure all windows and exterior doors are closed). After two hours, the windows should be opened and the home should be ventilated for at least 30 minutes before reoccupying the area. If you only see an occasional flea, vacuuming all of the carpets and rugs may be all you need to do to remove the problem.

    Q
I'm trying to get rid of spiders using Pro Control Plus Total Release Aerosol.
I want to use in the Pro Control Plus Total Release in the laundry room, oil tank room and basement. All the rooms are connected. Will the fogger turn corners, or do I need one can for each room?
    A
We think you would get better results using one can per room. Since you place the cans in the middle of the room and the fog goes straight up to the ceiling and then straight down, you will not get much movement left and right and around corners. One can per room will yield much better results.

    Q
What is the best pesticide to control camel or cave crickets?
I am using strips of duct tape now and catch a few a day over the last several months but they don't stop. I have them in my basement and den and I do see them around the outside of the house.
    A
One of our most popular products for camel and crave crickets is our Niban Fine Granular Bait. It can be used indoors in the basement but it should be used around the outside of your home to help kill the crickets before they try to get into the house.  The Niban FG Bait is a food source that they are attracted to and eat.
