The Overwintering Stink Bug Kit contains a combination of professional stink bug control products to protect your home from a variety of insects including stink bugs (including the brown marmorated stink bug), kudzu bugs, lady bugs (asian beetles), box elder bugs, pill bugs and more. The Overwintering Kit includes two insecticides and a dust applicator to keep stink bugs and other overwintering pests at bay. Bifen IT is a water based insecticide concentrate that offers a long-term residual effect. CimeXa Insecticide Dust contains amorphous silica gel, which acts as a desiccant when insects crawl across it. Dust is extremely stable, but it is only for use in voids and areas where it will not be easily disturbed or picked up by people or pets. This kit includes 1 x 4 oz bottle of Bifen IT Insecticide, 1 x 4 oz. bottle of Cimexa Dust, and a hand duster for easy application.
Be sure to add on a can of PestXpert foaming insect killer spray for more power and protection against overwintering pests. The PestXpert foam will provide a protective barrier deep inside cracks and crevices.
For the best Stink Bug Treatment, perform a thorough Inspection prior to treatment, and practice good sanitation and exclusion to prevent these pests from entering the home. Treatments should begin in August before temperatures begin to drop and continue through November or until the first frost.
A one gallon hand pump sprayer (sold separately) is required to apply the Bifen IT in this kit. We recommend a hand pump sprayer like the Chapin one gallon sprayer, or the Chapin Premier one gallon sprayer.
This kit cannot be sold to NY residents. For control of Overwintering pests in NY please consider the New York Stink Bug Control Kit.

The Stink Bug Control Kit contains the insecticides needed to help keep stink bugs and similar overwintering pests out in the Fall. It is important to perform a thorough inspection of the structures you want to protect so that you can identify and correct any areas where stink bugs are able to harbor and possibly enter the structure. These preventative measures will greatly increase your chances of a successful Stink Bug Treatment.
How to Apply the Stink Bug Kit
Stink Bug Treatment should begin before temperatures drop and pests start searching for places to harbor for the winter. Relying on treatments in the Spring, when pests are moving back outdoors, will provide limited results. Your first treatment should be in August, before the weather begins to cool, and continue through November or until the first frost of the Fall. The best treatment for overwintering pests is preventative treatment.
STEP 1 - SPRAY - Bifen IT
Bifen IT is a liquid concentrate that must be diluted with water and applied with a hand pump sprayer. Bifen IT has two active ingredients that provide both quick knockdown and residual control to help prevent stink bugs and similar pests from entering the structure.
*Always wear gloves such as Nitrile Chemical Resistant gloves when handling and mixing pesticides.
*To mix the Bifen IT, fill sprayer tank 1/3 - 1/2 with clean, temperate water. Shake Bifen IT before opening, then add desired amount of Bifen IT Insecticide Concentrate to sprayer tank. Shake or agitate mixture before adding remainder of water, then agitate again before spraying.
*For initial treatment, use 1 fl oz per gallon of water.
*For follow up treatments, use 1 fl oz per gallon of water.
*Bifen IT should be sprayed around the outside of the home to create a protective barrier to keep bugs from getting inside. Spray about 3 ft. up the side of the house, and about 3-5 ft. out from the structure from the base of the foundation (spraying directly on the ground) -- this will give you a powerful continuous barrier against pests.
*Spray around window frames, door frames, any cracks and crevices around foundation or where caulking around windows and doors has opened up, around vents leading inside, and around lights (these bugs are attracted to the light from windows, doors, etc.).
*Concentrate spot treatments on the sides of the home that receive afternoon and/or full sunlight.
*Spot treat indoors along window frames, door frames, garage doors, attic vents, and where utilities enter.
*Keep pets and children out of the treatment area while spraying and until the application has dried, usually about an hour.
*Try to use up all the spray mixture in one application. If spray solution is stored overnight, re-agitate the tank before spraying.
*Do not apply Bifen IT to edible plants such as vegetable gardens or fruit trees.
*Repeat treatment every 30 days through the Fall or until the first frost.
STEP 2 - DUST - CimeXa Insecticide Dust and Bellow Hand Duster
For the best control of stink bugs and similar pests, apply CimeXa Dust both indoors and in cracks and crevices outdoors. CimeXa Dust is all natural and contains no active ingredients that degrade in sunlight or over time. Using the included bellow hand duster ensures accurate applications into areas where dust will not be easily moved or washed away by rainfall.
*After your insecticide spray has dried, you can apply the insecticide dust.
*Using insecticide dust can be very messy, so be sure to wear gloves and consider having a moist paper towel handy to clean up excess dust indoors.
*To fill the Bellow Hand Duster, remove the black rubber stopper on top of the duster. Gently unscrew the white top of the CimeXa dust, then slowly tap the dust into the duster. Fill the duster up to halfway (or less), so there is plenty of room for the dust to move inside the duster.
*You may want to add a few small objects such as coins, pebbles, or marbles to prevent clumping inside the duster.
*Replace the black stopper so that it fits snugly into the opening. Remove the black rubber cap from the end of the extension wand. To apply dust, hold the duster upside down, so that the extension wand is on top, then gently squeeze the bellows between the thumb and fingers.
*Apply insecticide dust to cracks and crevices such as:
*Dust can also be used indoors in cracks and crevices where the dust will not easily be removed or disturbed, such as behind outlet covers, under baseboards, around pipe collars, and under and behind cabinets.
*Re-apply insecticide dust every 6 months.
*See our Video for more tips on dusting.
Great Kit and it Works!
By Barb on 09/10/2012
I used this kit, and while the first winter I didn't spray completely and had a few stink and lady bugs creep in, the second winter I was more thorough and it worked like a dream. While my neighbors were complaining, I was bug free. Thank you!

Great Product
By Bc on 08/20/2012
I bought the kit 2 years ago, and after spraying my home in early September have had almost no problems with stink bugs. I live in a townhouse, and my neighbors continued to have problems - so I didn't just get a lucky streak!

Boxelder bugs DEAD
By Bp on 10/30/2014
The duster seemed to be higher quality than i was expecting, but being inexperienced with it, i really didn't know how to judge how much product i was applying to an area. The concentrate for the sprayer was easy to mix and apply. The hardest part was understanding the exact dilution recommended. While there were instructions, I didn't find them quite specific enough. As though it was written for professionals who do this all the time. Not someone who busts out the garden sprayer once a year. Nevertheless, I used a 1 packet/gal dilution and it did infact kill the box elder bugs in the infested areas. Really, this product works great. It would be 5 star if perhaps the instructions were a little more newbie friendly.

Was not effective
By Geraldine on 03/07/2016
Applied both agents as directed. Unfortunately, minimal effect -- just a few days without Asian Lady Beetles and Stinkbugs. Clearly, need to find the source of entry and stop it, since treating outside and inside not helpful.

I live in the middle of the state of North Carolina.
There are many products on the market that have a long lasting residual. Unfortunately, all of them will only have very limited results. Stink bugs move into structures to overwinter. They usually squeeze into wall voids, false ceilings, attics and other areas that are inaccessible to people and insecticides. As the heat kicks on in the house, the stink bugs warm up and start becoming active and emerge from hiding, driving residents nuts. Because most folks usually have no idea where the bugs are harboring you can only treat around baseboards, door frames and window frames and hope the insects will emerge where you have sprayed. After they contact the treated areas, it can take several hours for them to die. It is still worth spraying now to get rid of some of the bugs, but you will keep seeing them until spring when they will emerge en masse and leave the building. They do not eat, mate or lay eggs while indoors so need to worry about any damage or future baby stink bugs. This year you can be proactive by stopping these pests before they move in for the winter.
