Quali-Pro T-Nex Plant Growth Regulator (PGR) is a micro-emulsion concentrate that helps reduce the growth of cool and warm season grasses while helping improve their quality and stress tolerance. This odorless formula contains Trinexapac-ethyl as its active ingredient and it works through grass foliage absorption. It aims to reduce frequent mowing and the amount of grass clippings when used as directed. T-Nex PGR also helps enhance the color and density of turf to let you produce healthier grass and more durable blades in turf grasses. It mixes with water completely, and it can be used with other pesticides and liquid fertilizers perfectly.

T-Nex Plant Growth Regulator is a professional-grade turf growth regulator that helps reduce mowing frequency while promoting denser, healthier, and more attractive turf. By slowing excessive vertical growth, T-Nex encourages improved turf quality, uniformity, and performance on residential and commercial lawns, sports fields, and golf courses.
T-Nex Plant Growth Regulator is labeled for use on many warm-season and cool-season turfgrass species, including:
Warm-Season Grasses
Cool-Season Grasses
T-Nex is also labeled for use on certain turf mixtures containing Kentucky bluegrass, ryegrass, fescue, bentgrass, and Poa annua. Application rates vary by turf species, so always refer to the product label for the appropriate rate for your lawn or turf area.
T-Nex should be applied to healthy, actively growing turfgrass during the growing season. Applications are most effective when turf is not under severe stress from drought, disease, insects, or extreme temperatures.
Many users begin applications in the spring once active growth resumes and continue treatments throughout the growing season as needed to maintain turf quality and growth regulation.
T-Nex Plant Growth Regulator is labeled for use on both residential and commercial turfgrass sites, including:
T-Nex should only be applied to established, actively growing turfgrass according to label directions.
T-Nex Plant Growth Regulator application rates vary depending on the turfgrass species and cultivar being treated. Most rates are measured in fluid ounces per 1,000 square feet, not per gallon of water.
For example, labeled Bermuda grass rates include:
|
Grass Type |
Rate per 1,000 Sq Ft |
|
Common Bermudagrass |
0.75 fl oz |
|
Tifway 419 Bermudagrass |
0.38 fl oz |
|
Tifgreen 328 and Other Hybrid Bermudagrasses |
0.25 fl oz |
|
Tifdwarf Bermudagrass |
0.20 fl oz |
T-Nex is also labeled for use on many other warm-season and cool-season turfgrass species, including St. Augustinegrass, Zoysiagrass, Centipedegrass, Tall Fescue, Kentucky Bluegrass, and Ryegrass. Refer to the product label for the appropriate application rate for your specific grass type.
Apply T-Nex in enough water to achieve uniform coverage of the treatment area. The label recommends using 0.5 to 4 gallons of water per 1,000 square feet.
Most users begin noticing growth regulation within several days after application. Results typically last 2 to 4 weeks, depending on:
Regular applications throughout the growing season can help maintain consistent growth suppression and turf quality.
Application frequency depends on the turf species, growth rate, weather conditions, fertility program, and desired level of growth regulation.
Many turf managers and homeowners apply T-Nex every 2 to 4 weeks during the active growing season to maintain consistent results.
Following the application intervals listed on the product label will help ensure optimal turf performance and growth regulation.
No. T-Nex should not be watered in after application.
For best results, allow the product to dry on the turf surface before irrigation or rainfall occurs. The manufacturer recommends allowing at least 4 hours of drying time after application.
Yes. Surfactants labeled for use on turfgrass may be tank mixed with T-Nex when appropriate.
Always follow both product labels and ensure the surfactant is approved for your turf type and intended use.
Yes. T-Nex Plant Growth Regulator is often incorporated into turf management programs alongside compatible herbicides, fertilizers, and other lawn care products.
It can be applied with pre-emergent herbicides and does not reduce the effectiveness of labeled weed control products when used according to label directions.
Always follow the label instructions for each product being used and perform a jar test when tank mixing products for the first time to confirm compatibility.
Mowing
It is advisable to maintain turfgrass at lower mowing heights. The application rates should be adjusted based on the grass height at application. The lower the height of cut of the particular turfgrass species, the less material is required to provide the desired turf growth regulator effect. To reduce the risk of turfgrass injury, try mowing 1 hour before application or 4 hours after the application.
Equipment
T-Nex Plant Growth Regulator may be applied using one of the following types of spray equipment:
Make sure the sprayers are calibrated properly to ensure they will deliver accurate and even applications.

good product
By Don on 03/23/2017
I have used this product and it works very well for my needs. I use 1 capful mixed in 5 gallons of paint when striping athletic fields. Don't wish to kill the turf, just limit growth on my lines. No effect on abutting grass at all. I am particularly pleased with your price point.

By John on 08/31/2018
Applied T Nex exactly as directed along with CoRoN using my 4 gallon backpack sprayer. The turf is noticeably greener with lateral growth of the Hybrid Bermuda turf. Very pleased with the results and will reapply in a month.

T-NEX works as advertised. Arrived in a heavy duty box, packaged securely and safely. Large up-front cost, but cost per application is very low. Stores in cool, dry location for years, don't be scared to pick some up! DoMyOwn.com is the best!

Works great
By Nate on 05/10/2019
A maximum of twice the recommended Quali-Pro T-Nex rate from the Application Rate Table may be applied in order to ensure extended growth suppression of up to 8 weeks and when temporary discoloration can be tolerated, otherwise the use rates lead to approximately 50% growth inhibition over a 4-week period.

The only difference I find is that Podium and Primo MAXX Percentage of active ingredient 11.3% and Quali-Pro T-Nex is 12%.
Quali-Pro T-Nex is just a generic of the Primo Maxx with slightly more active ingredient and a different manufacturer, allowing for different rates to be used.

I can't seem to find it on the label.
Quali-Pro T-Nex is applied at the rates below per 0.5-4 gallons of water per page 7 of the product label based on the type of Bermuda in your lawn. Blend only the volume of spray mixture needed for the square footage to be treated. Make sure there is sufficient agitation during application and apply evenly to ensure thorough coverage of the crop.
Tifgreen 328 and Other Hybrids- 0.25 fl oz per 1,000 sq ft, Tifway 419-0.38 fl oz per 1,000 sq ft, Tifdwarf-0.20 fl oz per 1,000 sq ft and Common Bermuda- 0.75 fl oz per 1,000 sq ft.
