Product Overview

Southern Ag Snail and Slug Bait is a controlled release pellet which helps protect your plants against snails and slugs. This pelletized bait contains 3.25% Metaldehyde as its active ingredient which effectively prevent slugs and snails from damaging your plants. It works by creating a "guard line" around vegetables, fruit trees, berries, ornamentals, lawns and greenhouses to stop them from going near. These baits does not require watering in and uses low rates to make it more economical to use. It also features an all-weather and long-lasting formula and is effective for up to 3 to 4 weeks. Product comes in 1 lb. canister and covers up to 4,400 sq. ft.

APPLICATION INFORMATION:

For control of Snails and Slugs in the following areas, use 1 lb. to treat 1,100 to 1,500 sq. ft. of soil surface (equivalent to 30 to 4O lbs. pellets per acre). For smaller areas, use one level teaspoon per square yard. Apply when first plant damage appears or is anticipated and repeat as needed for control.

FRUIT TREE CROPS SUCH AS: Apples, Apricots, Avocados, Cherries, Peaches, Pears, Citrus (Oranges, Lemons, Grapefruit, etc.) Broadcast liberally under trees, around irrigation pipes, farm buildings and any other place where snails and slugs may congregate.

BERRY CROPS SUCH AS: Blackberries, Boysenberries, Loganberries, Raspberries, Strawberries. Apply only to soil surface.

VEGETABLE CROPS AND GARDENS SUCH AS: Artichoke, Asparagus, Beans, Beets, Black-eyed Peas, Broccoli, Brussels Sprouts, Cabbage, Cantaloupes, Carrots, Cauliflower, Celery, Corn, Cucumbers, Eggplant, Endive, Garlic, Ginseng, Horseradish, Kale, Kohlrabi, Leeks, Lettuce, Melons, Mustard Greens, Okra, Onions, Parsnips, Peas, Peppers, Pimentos, Potatoes, Pumpkins, Radishes, Rhubarb, Rutabagas, Salsify, Shallots, Spinach, Squash, Sugar Beets, Sweet Potatoes, Swiss Chard, Tomatoes, Turnips, Watermelons. Apply only to soil surface.

ORNAMENTAL PLANTS

ORNAMENTAL GARDENS, PLANTED BORDERS AND GROUND COVERS SUCH AS: Azaleas, Begonias, Camellias, Chrysanthemums, Daffodils, Daisies, Geraniums, Honeysuckle, Hydrangeas, Ice Plant, Impatiens, Iris, Marigolds, Pansies, Petunias, Rhododendron, Rose, Sweet Peas, Snapdragons, Spathiphylum, and Tulips. Water the infested area thoroughly before application. Broadcast or sprinkle this product evenly over the infested areas and along edges of flower beds adjacent to border or ground cover plants. Also apply on ground at base of fences and walls in shady, protected locations. This product may be injurious to Daylilies and Clematis. Do not use on these plants.

DICHONDRA AND/OR TURFGRASS LAWNS: Broadcast this product directly and evenly.

SEED GRASSES: Broadcast this product directly and evenly.

ORNAMENTAL GREENHOUSES: Broadcast this product liberally around greenhouse, under benches in greenhouse and around plants; any place where snails and slugs might congregate. Do not apply directly to plants unless prior experience has shown the plant to be tolerant to this product. Most plants are tolerant to Snail and Slug Bait however some slight tip burning has been noticed on extremely tender orchids. This product may be injurious to Daylilies and Clematis. Do not use on these plants. NOTE: Snail and Slug Bait has proven to have a reasonable residual control, however for heavily infested greenhouses, a second application is recommended 7 to 10 days following the first application to bring the greenhouse under control.
