Sonora Herbicide is a professional-grade, selective herbicide formulated with clopyralid for post-emergent control of invasive broadleaf weeds and woody plants. It provides systemic activity through foliar uptake and root absorption, allowing effective control of actively growing vegetation while preserving desirable grasses when applied according to label directions.
Sonora is designed for use in rangeland, permanent grass pastures, Conservation Reserve Program land, rights-of-way, and other non-crop areas where selective vegetation management is required. It is effective against difficult species such as thistles, mesquite, locust, knapweeds, and kudzu, making it a reliable tool for pasture and land management.
This formulation offers flexible application options including broadcast and foliar spray treatments. Sonora provides residual activity to help suppress regrowth and does not impose haying or grazing restrictions when used according to the product label, allowing for more flexible application timing.

Sonora Herbicide is applied as a foliar spray to actively growing broadleaf weeds and woody plants. Applications should be made when target vegetation is not drought-stressed and has reached a uniform, dark green growth stage. Adequate spray coverage is essential for effective control, and foliage should be thoroughly wetted without excessive runoff.
Sonora may be applied using ground equipment such as pump-up sprayers, backpack sprayers, ATV-mounted sprayers, or broadcast spray equipment. A high-quality non-ionic surfactant should be included in the spray solution to improve coverage and herbicide uptake. Spray-indicating dyes may be used to assist with uniform application and reduce skips or overlaps.
For woody species such as mesquite and honey locust, Sonora may be applied as a foliar spray during the primary treatment window from late spring through summer when plants are actively growing and have adequate leaf surface. Do not apply when foliage is wet, when plants are under stress, or when excessive canopy damage may limit herbicide uptake.
Livestock grazing is permitted in treated areas when Sonora is used according to label directions. There are no grazing or haying restrictions; however, stewardship precautions apply to plant material, hay, and manure from treated areas. Do not use grass clippings, hay, straw, or manure from treated sites for composting or for application to sensitive broadleaf crops for a minimum of 18 months following treatment.
Avoid applications to areas with highly permeable soils and shallow groundwater. Do not allow spray drift or runoff to contact desirable broadleaf plants. Always read and follow the product label for complete directions, restrictions, and environmental precautions.
