A systemic fungicide for management of foliar, soilborne, cutting and bulb diseases caused by Basidiomycete Fungi in Greenhouses, Saran and Shade Houses, Outdoor Container and Field–Grown Ornamental Nursery Stock.
GENERAL INFORMATION
ProStar 70 WG Fungicide is a systemic fungicide, that, when mixed with the appropriate volume of water, will provide systemic, preventative, and curative activity in the management of foliar, soilborne, and propagative diseases caused by rusts, species of Rhizoctonia, and Sclerotium rolfsii.
Although ProStar 70 WG Fungicide can be curative, application is suggested on a preventative basis at all sites of use where applicable when conditions are optimum for disease development or past history indicates disease development is imminent. When used as a curative treatment, apply ProStar 70 WG Fungicide at the highest recommended concentration or rate allowed according to label directions.
If ProStar 70 WG Fungicide is tank mixed with other labeled plant protection products, add ProStar 70 WG Fungicide first. After the ProStar 70 WG Fungicide is completely dissolved, add the mixture partners.
Failure to follow the direction for use and precautions on this label may result in poor disease control or plant injury.
For foliar applications, apply the spray mixture to obtain optimum coverage of the plant foliage.
Make no more than 4 applications of ProStar 70 WG Fungicide per year to ornamental plantings.
GENERAL INFORMATION
ProStar 70 WG Fungicide is a systemic fungicide recommended for control of diseases of turf caused by Basidiomycetes. ProStar 70 WG should be used particularly for control of Rhizoctonia Brown Patch, and has excellent safety on Kentucky bluegrass, creeping bentgrass, perennial ryegrass, red fescue, tall fescue, bermuda grass, St. Augustinegrass, and zoysia grass.
APPLICATION AND DOSAGE
Apply the recommended amount of ProStar 70 WG Fungicide in 2 to 5 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. as a broadcast application, unless otherwise specified. (See Fairy Ring, Gray Snow Mold directions). Add appropriate amount of water to the spray tank. If ProStar 70 WG Fungicide is to be tank mixed with an appropriately labeled fungicide or other product to control another pest, add ProStar 70 WG Fungicide first. Prior to spraying with a tank mixture not specified on this label, it is advisable to determine if the products are physically compatible.
For best results, spray the treated area uniformly, using equipment such as flat fan nozzles. Use 50-mesh or larger screens. Avoid mowing for 24 hours after application and do not irrigate until spray has dried on grass, unless otherwise noted. When non-labeled diseases are also present, ProStar 70 WG Fungicide may be tank mixed with appropriate labeled fungicides if the products are physically compatible. When tank-mixing with other products, it is the responsibility of the end-user/applicator to insure that the tank-mix partner is registered in the state where the application is being made.
Silver bullet

This stuff is expensive but you get what you pay for. Stopped a really bad case of take all patch infection in my zoysia lawn dead in its tracks. I will be applying as prevention going forward. A few items that may help. The treatmen's on the label are oz by weight, not oz by volume. I found that the label you download from this website comes with a volume to weight conversion table where the package attached label did not. The granuals do not dissolve too well on thier own in a sprayer so I used a 5 gallon bucket and drill attached paint mixer for about 30 seconds then transfered to my backpack sprayer.

Brown Patch Remedy
By Anonymous on 07/20/2013
Fast shipping for a product recommended by the turf grass specialists at NC State University to control brown patch in my fescue lawn. I was surprised this came as a powder since is was sold as one gallon, and not by weight. But it dissolved evenly and applied easily with a tank sprayer. The instructions on the container for mixing in small quantities were confusing to me. I finally got clear guidance from the folks at NCSU on their turf grass website. Turned out an effective concentration could be less than what the manufacturer recommends, based on the studies at the school. So at $200 per container, any way to stretch the product is welcomed. Results look promising, so far, but I just put it out last week, so more time is needed for a full evaluation.

It appears to work well
By Paula on 08/19/2017
I've only used this product once, about 3 weeks ago and it appears to be working. My very infected hostas are looking healthy. The label said to re-apply in 28 days if necessary and I don't think it will be necessary. This is a powerful product, use with caution.

Does the jug come with some sort of way to measure the weight of the product for application? Or is one supposed to use one of those food scales to get accurate weights for 1.5 to 2.2 oz? Or would using measuring spoons (so 2 tablespoons = 1oz) work?
ProStar 70 WG does not come with a measuring device. You will use 1/4 cup for 1.16 oz. of product. This is equal to four tablespoons.

I am having trouble seeing what group fungicide ProStar is, but understand I need to alternate ones of different groups or mechanisms of action. What would you suggest I consider?
Eagle 20EW would be a good one to rotate with Prostar 70 WG.

I have to treat for slerotium rolfsii in raised beds. Can you tell me how many teaspoons per gallon should I use?
When using ProStar 70 WG as a soil drench, you would mix 0.36 teaspoons in 1 gallon of water to treat container ornamentals.
