How 565 Plus XLO Works

565 Plus XLO combines the power of natural pyrethrins with two powerful synergists in a pressurized insecticide. Pyrethrins are derived from the Chrysanthemum flower and have a quick action that attacks an insect’s central nervous system. Pyrethrins also act as irritants to insects, making it an effective flushing agent, and as a repellent to keep insects away. The complexity of pyrethrins means insect resistance is not a concern. 565 Plus XLO also contains piperonyl butoxide and MGK-264, two synergists that help to stabilize and boost the power of the natural pyrethrins.

565 Plus XLO is effective as a contact kill only, meaning it has no further insecticidal properties once the spray application is dry.

Target Uses of 565 Plus XLO

565 Plus XLO Aerosol is best used as a crack and crevice treatment in wall voids, underneath baseboards, around window sills, around doorways, and any other entry points. 565 Plus is frequently preferred as a contact kill for exposed pests and as a flushing agent for cracks and crevices to identify harborage sites of pests such as cockroaches. 565 Plus XLO is also labeled to be used a space spray for many pests, including flying insects, stored product pests, and pantry pests, making it a great alternative to traditional foggers. 565 Plus XLO is easier and safer to use, treatment is faster, and reapplications can be made more frequently (always follow the label directions).

565 Plus XLO can be used in sensitive areas where residual sprays may not be permitted, or it can be used in conjunction with residual methods as a contact kill. Do not apply 565 Plus XLO on top of baits or in areas where baits will be applied.

Use the included straw for crack and crevice and flushing treatments. Use the open actuator for space spray and spot treatments.

565 Plus XLO Application Instructions

Use 565 Plus XLO where listed pests are found or known to harbor for contact, flushing, and void treatments.

Crack and Crevice Application:

Use PT 565 Plus XLO with the supplied actuator and injection tube or other aerosol equipment. Inject into cracks and crevices or void spaces where insects may be harboring, living and breeding. Place injector tip into cracks, crevices, holes, and other small openings. Apply product for 1 second for light infestations, move injector tip along cracks while treating at the rate of 3 linear feet per second. For heavy infestations, move injector tip along at 1 linear ft. per sec. For wall and equipment voids, treat at a rate of 5-10 seconds per 3 cubic feet. Several holes may be required in long-running voids.

Space Treatment:

Calculate the cubic footage to be treated and apply at the dosage rate specified below for the pest(s) to be treated. Ventilate treated areas before reoccupying.

Always read the product label completely before use.

*Exact yield will vary with use because this is a ready-to-use product. The large 20 oz. can yields many applications.

565 Plus XLO Standard Application Rates:

• 3 feet/second, 1 second at a time – Light infestations
• 1 foot/second, 1 second at a time – Heavy infestations
• 1-3 seconds per 1,000 sq. ft. – Flying insects indoors
• 20 seconds per 1,000 sq. ft. – Exposed stored product pests, crawling insects, clothes moths
• 5-10 seconds per 3 cubic feet – Void applications, pantry pests
• 10 seconds per 100 sq. ft. – Fleas in buildings, carpet beetles
• 1.5-2 seconds per 1,000 sq. ft. – Outdoor ground application

Indoors

Ants, Booklice, Centipedes, Clover Mites, Crickets, Millipedes, Roaches, Silverfish, Sowbugs, Spiders: Apply as a crack and crevice treatment into cracks and crevices in all hiding places behind baseboards, sinks, cabinets, meter boxes, door frames, windows or as a space treatment at a rate of 20 sec. per 1,000 cubic feet. Open cabinets and doors in area to be treated. Turn off air conditioners and fans and close doors and windows before treating. Disperse toward area suspected of harboring the greatest insect infestations. Disperse in all locations contacting as many insects as possible. Keep area closed for 15 minutes. Open and ventilate the treated area before reoccupying. Treatment may be repeated every 3 days if necessary. Inspections may be made on a daily basis.

For treatment of void areas such as attics, false ceilings and crawl spaces, calculate the volume of the void and apply as a space treatment at a rate of 20 sec. per 1,000 cubic feet. Treatment may be repeated in 3 days if necessary.

Flying Insects: Apply as a space treatment. Close all windows and doors and direct fog upward at a rate of 1-3 sec. per 1,000 cubic feet. Disperse in all locations. Keep area closed for 15 minutes. Open and ventilate before reoccupying. Treatment may be repeated daily if necessary.

Bed Bugs: Take bed apart and treat cracks, joints and interior of framework. Treat mattresses and box springs; especially tufts, folds and edges. Also treat picture frames, moldings and all cracks and crevices in the room. Do not use in patient rooms in hospitals and nursing homes for treatment of bed bugs. NOT recommended for the sole protection from bed bugs.

Fleas in Buildings: Hold product 36” above floor and direct toward floor and lower walls at a rate of 10 seconds per 100 sq. ft. making sure that all floor, sofa and chair surfaces are contacted. Keep area closed for 15 minutes. Open and ventilate before reoccupying. Treatment may be repeated daily if necessary. Pets also should be treated with products approved for such use.

Outdoors

Ground Application (Flies, Gnats, Mosquitoes): Treat open areas near buildings and in campgrounds. Best results are obtained when wind speed is 5 MPH or less. Apply at a rate of 1.5-2 sec. per 1,000 sq. ft.

Mud Dauber and Wasp Nests: Apply mist directly on insects and their nests from approximately 18”. Contacted insects will fly away from fog. Applications should be made in late evening when insects are at rest. Disperse into hiding and breeding places contacting as many insects as possible.

Extra Tips

• The can has some cold sensitivity and should be warmed to room temperature (at least 60 degrees F) before use.
• Do not use or store near heat or open flame. Do not expose to temperatures over 130 degrees F.
• Patient rooms should be ventilated for 2 hours after spraying.
• Retreatment instructions and times will vary with pest. Check the product label according to target pest to determine how frequently repeat applications may be made.
• Use as a space spray for listed pests as an alternative to a traditional fogger.
• Keep people and pets out of treatment areas until product has dried and/or after time specified on the product label.
• Do not spray on plastic, painted or varnished surfaces (staining may occur from petroleum distillates) or directly into any electronic equipment such as radios, televisions, computers, etc.
• 565 Plus XLO Formula 2 contains petroleum distillates. For a water-based pyrethrins aerosol, try CB-40 Aerosol.
