PT Ultracide Pressurized Flea Insecticide is not labeled for lice. Bedlam Insecticide Aerosol is labeled for lice and can be used on furniture.
No, PT Ultracide cannot be sprayed on pillows. It can only be used to treat infested areas such as: carpets, rugs, upholstered furniture, pet beds and pet resting areas. To treat your memory foam pillows you can use Steri-Fab Insecticide, it can be used for contact kill and will leave no residual once it's dry.
PT Ultracide does have residual after it dries, but one of the advantages of this specific product for fleas control is that it has fast knockdown of the adult fleas. We recommend you continue to comb and inspect the kitten to check for fleas. Wondercide Flea and Tick Pets and Home is a great product if you have young animals because it can be used in the home and also on pets, even kittens.
Per the SDS sheet, PT Ultracide is harmful if inhaled. A dust mask should be work to prevent inhalation. When applied according to the product label directly into cracks and crevices, direct contact will be minimal. If the product has been inhaled we suggest you contact your local poison control center or physician.
It is not recommended to use Ultracide on mattresses. We recommend that you remove all linens and wash and dry on high heat to kill any existing fleas. While they are being laundered, we recommend spraying your mattress and box spring with SteriFab give time to completely dry before applying your linens back on the bed. We suggest that you have the cat treated for fleas by your vet. Ultracide is great for indoor flea treatments on carpeted, hard surface floors and furniture. We recommend vacuuming prior to the application and each day for 14 days. On the 14th day, you will vacuum and treat with a second application of Ultracide and vacuum for additional 14 days. After vacuuming each day, replace with a new bag or empty the canister (if bagless) in a trash bag outside of the home.
PT Ultracide can be used in all fabric areas of the car and in cracks and crevices, just like you would use it in the home for flea control. Floorboards, seats, cushions, and floor mats are all places you can spray the product. You need to vacuum the car thoroughly every day just like you would the home as well to help expose any dormant eggs to the product you put down. Spray Ultracide every 14 days and let dry completely before re-entering the car. If you are only feeling the fleas, and not seeing them still, you need to put down glue boards to try and get a sample of the pest in your car to make sure you are treating for the right insect. You can take a sample to your local Cooperative Extension to have it identified by the Entomologist on staff.
PT Ultracide is labeled to be sprayed on pet beds. Be sure that the bed is completely dry before the cat is allowed to use it again.
PT Ultracide will take between 2-3 hours to dry, depending on how heavily it was applied.
Per the label instructions, for PT Ultracide: Using a sweeping motion, apply a light uniform spray to all surfaces of furniture, rugs, carpets, drapes, and around all pet resting areas. Avoid thoroughly wetting surfaces. Mist treated areas only until slightly damp.
It is possible that the residual could cause irritation if PT Ultracide is oversprayed on upholstered furniture. The label warns not to treat areas of prolonged human contact. When treating upholstered furniture, it is only to be sprayed under cushions and areas where flea development occurs. Please see label for full application instructions on page 3.
We would recommend you start taking steps to eradicate a flea infestation as soon as possible. We recommend vacuuming daily or every other day when treating for fleas and treating with a product like Ultracide every 14 days as needed as long as you are still finding fleas. The IGR in the PT Ultracide is supposed to last for 7 months, however the adulticide you need to respray every 14 days as this is the rough hatching cycle for any that havent already come out from your daily vacuuming. This provides an extra knock down of any remaining adults and newly hatched fleas. On average, most homeowners who do a proper treatment, vacuum daily, and treat their pet and outdoor areas where the fleas originated will be rid of the fleas indoors by the 2nd spraying. For most products, the treatment and residual control is different when you are spraying "just in case" some get in, or if you are actually dealing with an active infestation.

If pets rest on the bath and/or kitchen mats, they can be treated with PT Ultracide or washed and dried in high heat.
We recommend that you remove the bath mats and launder (as the heat from the washer/dryer is sufficent to eliminate any fleas present). You will then vacuum the bathroom floor and then treat with PT Ultracide and leave. Allow to dry completely prior to anyone returning to the area (also proper ventilation). Yes. You can use a product such as Permethrin SFR tank mixed with Martins IGR. The comination of these two products will give you an adulticide to ete the adult fleas and and insect growth regulator to help break the cycle of the immature fleas from developiing. Prior to treatment, carpets, draperies and upholstered furniture should be vacuumed thoroughly and the vacuum cleaner bag disposed of in an outdoor trash receptacle. Remove pets from area to be treated. After treatment, do not allow children and pets into treated areas until spray has dried.You may need to repeat these treatments 3-4 times in 2 week intervals depending on how bad the infestation is. Pets and yards should also be treated with approved products.
