Not long enough and broken handle

The pump stem is not long enough to reach the bottom of the 5 gallon pail it is supposed to work with. Instead, it stops about half way down. After the liquid in the pail is below the half way mark, you have to tilt the pail while pumping for the pump to work. At about the quarter mark, even that doesn't work anymore. In addition, the pump handle on top was split when I received it. Not sure if this happened in shipping or if it was just defective. It still worked, but it made pumping more difficult.
