    Q
Can the fogger be used in a bedroom?
With clothes; we have moths; smallish. We bought box sticky catchers and I can't figure out where they are coming from. I've washed suspect sweaters in hot water and dried some in heat. Will these ruin hardwood, sheets? furniture, clothes if sitting on a dresser, etc?
    A

Yes, you can use FMC Pyrethrin Fogger in your bedroom, however, it is always recommended to wash any clothing that has come in contact with the fog after dispensing. If the clothes don't need to be treated with the product, you can bag the clothes and seal them off before using the fogger in desired areas.

    Q
Can the FMC Pyrethrin Fogger be used in an 1800 sq foot home for furniture flies?
    3000 cu ft
    A

The FMC Pyrethrin Fogger is labeled for houseflies, moths and other small flying insects as well as some crawling insects.  It is not specifically labeled for “furniture flies,” so we cannot say for sure that it would work for this pest.  One can will cover 5,000 cubic feet.

    Q
Would it be safe to use the FMC Pyrethrin Fogger up a chimney?
I have wasps that come down through it.
    A

We would not reccomend using the FMC Pyrethrin Fogger in a chimney application. Unfortunately, we do not have a recommendation for that type of application. You would not want to put chemicals in a chimney that at some point you would be lighting a fire into. However, with that said possibly lighting a fire would get them out of the area.

    Q
How often should the FMC Pyrethrin Fogger be used?
Specifically in an attic and a crawl space.
    A

The FMC Pyrethrin Fogger is only a contact kill that kills insects exposed at the time of treatment, so how often it is used will depend on the target pest and pest pressure for your specific needs. If you would like to tell us more about your specific needs, then we would be happy to offer more specific advice.

    Q
Is product good to rid house flies?
    A
Yes, CB PCO Total Release Fogger is labeled for houseflies. Shake Well Before Use. Cover exposed foods, dishes and food handling equipment. Open cabinets and doors to area to be treated. Shut off fans and air conditioners. Put out all flames and pilot lights. Close doors and windows. Point valve opening away from face and eyes when releasing. DO NOT use more than one fogger per room. DO NOT use in small enclosed spaces such as closets, cabinets or under counters or tables. Do not use in a room 5 ft. x 5 ft. or smaller; instead, allow fog to enter from other rooms. Turn off ALL ignition sources such as pilot lights (shut off gas valves), other open flames or running electrical appliances that cycle off and on (i.e. refrigerators, thermostats, etc.). Call your gas utility or management company if you need assistance with your pilot lights. Use one 5 oz. unit for 5,000 cubic feet of unobstructed space. Do not remain in the area during treatment, and ventilate thoroughly before reentry.

    Q
    Attic usage in freezing weather?
Moving into a house at the beginning of this cold snap and bought 4 of these to set off in the attic (2 at a time), because of flies due to a gaping gable vent. Will these operate sufficiently in cold weather? We have snow flakes and brisk winds in Indiana for another couple weeks.
    A
With the CB PCO Total Release Foggers, they are used indoors so the temperature is not a factor. You do want to make sure you are only using 1 per room.

    Q
    Clothes moth infestation
We have an ongoing clothes moth infestation in my building (4 apartments). Each year as the temps rise they keep coming back, by the hundreds. They mostly fly around in the hallway, where we think they have their nest behind the walls, or underneath the roof space. The landlord hires inefficient cheap workers who come out and spray in the hallway (on the floor) with absolutely no result. Would a fogger like the CB PCO be able to get to their nest - which had not been located - but we assume it to be somewhere behind the walls?
    A
The CB PCO Fogger with Pyrethrins would only kill what is out, exposed, and flying around at the time the fogger was activated. Unfortunately, the CB PCO Fogger wouldn't be able to kill anything that is back behind the wall or in inaccessible areas such as cracks or crevices. We would recommend you use the ProPest Pheronet Clothes Moth Traps. These traps will lure and kill webbing cloth moths, the most common type of clothes moth. This product is best used in conjunction with a crack and crevice aerosol to treat under and around baseboards and door frames in the infested area.  We recommend D-Force HPX Aerosol to treat these areas.

    Q
Is CB PCO fogger safe to crawl around in for maintenance workers?
We have a a 3.5 ft high crawl space above our ceiling in which vendors must crawl around in to install electrical power cords and other equipment during the quarterly installation of changing museum exhibitions. What is the amount of time necessary to wait before these workers can work in this crawl space after using this fogger?
    A
The treated areas must be completely dry and ventilated prior to re-entry when the CB Pco Foggers. This typcially takes a few hours and then the area can be safely accessed as needed.

    Q
Will the FMC Pyrethrin Fogger stop fleas from multiplying?
    A

The FMC Pyrethrin Fogger will kill any adult fleas that are out in the open at the time of application.  It will not stop fleas from reproducing.  To keep fleas from reproducing, you would need to use an insect growth regulator such as Precor.  Please keep in mind that foggers generally are not recommended for flea control, as they will only kill any fleas that are out in the open at the time of application.  Foggers will not kill any fleas that are hiding in cracks and crevices or that are not in the immediate area at the time the product is applied.  Please take a moment to review our Flea Control Guide for information on implementing a complete flea eradication program.

    Q
I have a moth infestation that originated from bird seed that is no longer in the house.
I also have 4 cats, with no way to remove them completely from the house. I want to use a fogger in combination with traps. Would it be safe enough to put them in the basement and close the door?
    A
With pantry pests you need to keep in mind that just because part of the problem may have stemmed from the bird seed that you removed, doesn't mean that the larvae didn't crawl into other areas of the home in cracks and crevices near by. If you are continually seeing new moths then the infestation was not purely in the bird seed. You are going to want to clean out any cabinets and storage areas where they could be hiding or leaving behind larvae, and use a crack and crevice spray like Cy-kick with a birth control spray like Gentrol IGR to help control the population. If you are going to purchase traps, you will need to know exactly what species of moth you are dealing with so you get the correct traps. Most moth traps are designed for a specific sexual pheromone for that couple of species on the label, and the trap will normally only catch the male moths with the sex pheromone. By it catching and luring in the males, it helps break up the reproductive cycle even further. We do not recommend using the fogger whether you can remove your cats or not as this will only knock down any moths currently flying in the open and will do nothing for the larvae or any unexposed moths. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

    Q
Will the FMC Pyrethrin Fogger kill fruit flies?
We have an infestation that we cannot get rid of. Already tried fruit fly traps.
    A

Yes, the FMC Pyrethrin Fogger will kill fruit flies.  However, keep in mind that foggers will only treat insects that are present at the time of treatment. For effective fruit fly eradication, you must identify and eliminate the breeding source. Keep in mind that you may actually have Drain Flies instead of Fruit Flies. Drain Flies are called this because they breed where organic matter that is found in moist, dark areas such as kitchen drains.
