    Q
What is the mix rate of Quinclorac 75 DF on a mixture of KBG and fescue?
One part of the label under spot applications says .367oz per 1000 sq ft. In the table it says 1 tbsp per 1 gal. These do not match up in measurements.
    A

Quinclorac 75 DF is used at the rate of 0.367 oz per 1000 sqft when applied as a broadcast or spot treatment in a minimum of 0.5 gallons of water.  If you are spot treating with a specific amount of water, ie 1 gallon you would use the 1 tbsp per gallon.

    Q
If I applied Quinclorac in the morning and then a pop up thunderstorm hits that evening, do I need to reapply?
    A

As long as the Quinclorac 75 DF treated area had time to dry, rain will not wash it away. Dry time is typically about 4 hours.

  • Asked by Andrew
    07/06/2018
    Q
How long does it take to see results on Crabgrass with Quinclorac 75 DF and how long until you can reapply?
    A

When using Quinclorac 75 DF the kill time on weeds like crabgrass can vary on mix rate used and the maturity and growth stages of the weed. On average if you are using it with a surfactant it can take at least 14 days after application to see dead or dying weeds. Since summer is not the best time of year to treat for crabgrass and its much harder to control during this time, you may find that the results take longer or may have to do reapplications to get full control. You can retreat after 14-21 days.

    Q
Will Quinclorac 75 DF hurt my Bermuda or zoyzia grass if applied when day time temperatures are 90 degrees or higher?
Trying to kill crab grass and some broad leaf weeds
    A

It is not recommended to apply Quinclorac 75 DF or any other herbicide when temperatures above 90 degrees Fahrenheit as this could burn turfgrass.  Be sure to apply in the early morning or late evening so that the product has had time to dry before temperatures exceed 85 degrees.

  • Asked by Troy from Concordia, Mo
    08/25/2017
    Q
Can I use dial and spray sprayer with Quinclorac 75 DF to spray entire yard?
    If so, what sprayer setting?
    A

Quinclorac 75 DF is not recommended to be used in a hose end sprayer. The first thing you need to know when using an herbicide  is that the exact amount of water you dilute it with is not important. It is only important to make sure you are using the correct amount of product per 1,000 sq ft of lawn. Use too much and you risk damaging your lawn, use too little and you will not get adequate results.  To decide how much water you want to use, you should mark a 1,000 sq ft area, fill your sprayer with water ONLY, and start walking and spraying just as if you were doing the actual application of herbicide. When you are done walking and spraying the 1,000 sq ft area note how much water it took you to spray that area, and that is the amount you will want to mix for each 1,000 sq ft area that needs to be treated. You will need to make sure treated areas are irrigated with at least 1/2 inch of water (either by rainfall or by sprinkler) following the application.

What else do I need to purchase other than the Quinclorac 75 DF?
I'm a DIY because tired of chasing people to do this work but want to know what else (other chemicals to mix in, sprayer, etc.) I would need to purchase to kill crabgrass/clover in my lawn. I live in New England.
    A

Quinclorac 75 DF should be mixed with a nonionic surfactant in order to help it adhere to the weeds for better absorption.  You will also need a hand pump sprayer or backpack sprayer to apply.

  • Asked by Marion from Fletcher, Nc

    Q
Is Quinclorac 75 DF measured at 1 TBSP per gallon?
Nufarm should also include tablespoon increments on the measuring tube. I believe that a level tablespoon per gallon is the correct amount. That comes to about .367 ounces in the measuring tube as mentioned elsewhere on the label. Does that agree with the finding of others here?
    A

Quinclorac 75 DF  is mixed at 1 tbsp. per gallon which is 0.5 oz (listed on the measuring device provided by the manufacturer, NuFarm).

  • Asked by Ben from Arlington, Texas
    08/17/2019
    Q
When is the best time of year to apply Quinclorac 75 for entire lawn?
Can I use this to sprat the entire lawn or it's good for spt spray? And will this work for late summer?
    A

Quinclorac 75 DF is a post-emergent herbicide, so the best time to apply it is when the target weeds are actively growing. If you are targeting crabgrass, then it is best to treat in late spring/early summer when the crabgrass is still small, or later in the summer or early fall when the grass has resumed growing again. You want to be cautious about broadcast applications of this or other post-emergent herbicides during the hottest parts of the summer: the desirable turf will be under more stress from the heat and the target weeds will not be growing much. You can broadcast or spot treat with Quinclorac at labeled application rates.

  • Asked by Leonard from Matthews, Nc
    07/20/2017
    Q
When is the best time to apply Quinclorac 75 DF in southern North Carolina for crabgrass?
The common product which contains Quinclorac in part does not seem effective for crabgrass in the 80-95 degree days in summer.
    A

Quinclorac 75 DF should be applied only in temperatures below 85.  You should apply in the early morening or late evening on hot temperature days. The product label does state the following regarding crabgrass:  Complete control may not be achieved under certain conditions to crabgrass at 2 - 4 tiller stage.  In these cases you will need to make a sequential application for control.  For best results apply with methylated seed oil either before the second tiller stage or as the weed grass mataures.  You should treat whenever the crabgrass has just emerged or after it has matured for best results, whenever this is in your area.  You can also check with your local cooperative extension office for the best advice on timing.

  • Asked by Quintin from Kc
    04/10/2018
    Q
Can I mix Quinclorac 75 DF with SpeedZone on a Fescue lawn for a spot treatment?
    A

You should be able to safely mix the Quinclorac 75 DF with the Speedzone to get a wider range of weed and weedy grass control with no issues. As with any chemical mixture, be sure to do a tank mix test first to make sure no clumping or mixing issues occur and spot test a small area to be sure no undesirable effects occur from the mixture and use. Always follow the most restrictive label of the two for use. Per the Quinclorac 75 DF product label, only use on fine fescue if its incorporated into a fescue blend as some turf damage or discoloring could occur if its a fine fescue lawn only.
