    Q
We have German cockroaches in our home!! Help!!
They came into our home within used furniture. They have concentrated in the kitchen, bathroom and a bedroom. We have young children, including an infant, and are trying to be as non-toxic as possible in treating them. Suggestions??
    A
You should be using a roach bait gel and an insect growth regulator too. We have all the products you need for roach control in are Roach Control kit #2. It is also important to make sure the kitchen and surrounding areas are spotless each day while you are trying to eliminate the roaches. Please follow the link we have provided to read our detailed article on: German Roach Elimination.
All of the products in the Roach Control Kit #2 would work very well to help eliminate roaches and are safe to use around pets and children when applied as directed on the product label. When the actual application of the Demon WP is being made, all pets and children should be out of the house and they can return as soon as the treated areas are dry

    Q
I was told to not spray if using bait. How should I apply your kit?
How long to wait to spray? Or should I do everything at same time?
    A
You should use all of the products at the same time. Spray the Demon into cracks and crevices around door frames, window frames, baseboards and under appliances. Place the Advion Gel bait directly in cracks and crevices in cabinets, drawers and around counter tops (places where you wouldn't want to spray because you would contaminate food products or dishes). Place 1-2 Gentrol Point Source in each room where you have noticed roach activity. By using all of the products together you will get much better results in a shorter amount of time.

The Roach Control Kit #2 is perfect for roach control problems in homes and apartments. This professional kit includes 1 packet of Demon WP Insecticide (which makes 4 gallons of finished solution) for spraying the outside perimeter of the home and inside underneath appliances, behind cabinets, under toilets and sinks, etc. You'll also get 4 x 30 gram tubes of Advion Roach Bait Gel--one of the best roach baits on the market. Advion can be applied up high in the kitchen in the corner of cabinets and in cracks and crevices in kitchens and bathrooms. The bait contains a slow-acting poison that attracts and kills feeding roaches, who also spread the bait to other roaches by contact or by sharing food. Finally, 20 Gentrol Point Source stations provide an IGR (Insect Growth Regulator) that will stop roaches from laying eggs, helping to halt the infestation. The combination of an IGR with roach bait is a highly effective roach control strategy that is widely used by pest control professionals. Demon WP must be applied with a 1 gallon pump sprayer. Please also take a few minutes to read our article How to get rid of roaches as it contains many great tips that should help you get rid of the infestation.

How to handle a roach infestation?
I bought an old mobile unit, we have been paying a company to handle a roach infestation for a year now,but we are not satisfied with the results. what would you suggest we do? products and suggestions to eradicate.
    A
The best way to handle a roach infestation, no matter how small or large, will take both chemical and non chemical steps. We would recommend either our Roach Control Kit #2 or our New York Roach Kit. The Roach Kit 2 has a powder insecticide that you mix with water and spray around the baseboards, cracks and crevices, behind appliances like refrigerators and stoves, and around door frames. It also comes with a roach bait gel to place in cabinets and other areas where baiting will be more effective, and an IGR (birth control) in little plastic stations that you place throughout the problem areas to keep the roaches from reproducing. The New York kit has the same 3 products but in different formulations. The New York Kit has a liquid concentrate which people prefer because it will dry clear whereas the powder in Kit 2 will not, and the IGR comes in a liquid which can be mixed with the concentrate and done in one step. Please take a moment to look over our How To Get Rid of Roaches article and watch the video HERE for how to properly place the bait in the cabinets. If you have any questions feel free to let us know.

    Q
I've been using the kit for 6 weeks and am still seeing roaches. What should I do?
I used all of the kit- the bait gel in the kitchen, baths, and laundry, the Demon WP all along the outside of the house and doorways/windows, and put out all IGRs. I am still seeing 1-2 roaches daily in random places that seem to be healthy. Occasionally I see a dead one here or there, but not as often as the live ones. What can I do?
    A

Roach infestations do not build up in a short period of time and they do not usually go away in a short period of time. Roach infestations can take several months to get rid of, though most folks see the infestation dramatically decline within the first couple weeks of treating. This is usually followed by a reappearance of the smaller roach nymphs (baby roaches). All of this is completely normal and expected. Some homes do require repeat applications of roach bait and insecticide sprays every two to four weeks to get rid of the remaining roaches. A barrier insecticide spray application around the exterior of the home will help stop new roaches from moving in. Indoor and outdoor sanitation is key to eliminating roaches. Be sure the trash is taken out every night and that all of the counters and floors are kept crumb free. Dry sinks and keep tooth brushes and sponges inside of plastic bags to eliminate sources for moisture. Outdoors, move trash cans and yard debris (leaf piles, mulch, wood piles) away from your home. Seal up as many cracks, gaps or holes on the exterior of your home to prevent roaches from entering. All of these steps will help you get rid of the roaches for good.

    Q
Should I use Maxforce FC Bait stations with Maxforce Pro Gel to get rid of roaches?
Would it be advisable to use the Maxforce FC Bait stations along with the Maxforce Pro Gel to get two kinds of bait out there for the little buggers to snack on? I do have a pretty hefty infestation such that not only are they in the kitchen and bathrooms but they are starting to make incursions into bedrooms where there is no "real" food (other than stuff like books). Additionally, my house sits on blocks, should I use something under the house. I do have dogs but they don't go under the house, however, the neighbor's cat does. Any advice on that -- don't want to kill the cat (no matter what my dog thinks!) Also since it is winter and will be dropping below 25 for days at a time, will this have an affect on the roaches that aren't living inside -- or are there any roaches that aren't living inside. Thanks for your help... hope to get started at this in a couple of weeks... after we can get an order off to you.
    A
We recommend that instead of using two kinds of bait at once that you instead use a bait, an insect growth regulator and a high quality insecticide. Indoor roach infestations usually require more than one product because roaches like to hide in many different places and baits alone are usually not enough. Most of our customers purchase our Roach Control Kit 2. This professional kit includes 1 envelope of Demon WP Insecticide (which makes 4 gallons of finished solution) for spraying the outside perimeter of the home (and under house if necessary) and inside underneath large appliances, behind cabinets, under toilets and sinks, etc. You'll also get 4 x 30 gram tubes of Advion Roach Bait Gel--one of the best roach baits on the market. Advion can be applied up high in the corners of cabinets and in cracks and crevices in kitchens and bathrooms. Sanitation plays a key role in eliminating roach infestations as well. Be sure to wipe out sinks to remove moisture at the end of the night, vacuum and mop under and behind appliances to remove food debris, take out trash every night and limit food consumption to one room.

    Q
Will this kit also control sugar ants?
We have a relatively large infestation of Sugar Ants. When I moved into the house I noticed them immediately. I also noticed huge amounts of trace and evidence of cockroach infestation. I was assured by the landlord that the house had been treated recently and we shouldn't have a cockroach problem, but lo and behold a roach! We have only seen two so far, but would like to nip it in the butt. I'd just rather get a product that is going to take care of both of my problems at once.
    A
The Demon WP in the roach control kit will also help with Sugar Ants. Roach bait and ant baits are made up of different bait matrix so one gel bait will not affect both insects. Along with the Roach Control Kit #2, you will need to use and ant gel bait such as Maxforce FC Ant Bait Gel.  We recommend spraying the perimeter of the house with Termidor SC 1ft up and 1ft out from the structure for 6 month control of Ants. Sanitation and baiting are key when treating for roaches and will also help with the control of ants.

    Q
Will this product work in the greenhouse?
    1) I have hordes for small roaches lurking in and under flower pots (especially the orchids), in bags of potting soil, in the gravel floor and just about everywhere in this warm humid environment. 2) Will the product harm toads or anoles (little lizards) who inhabit the greenhouse and might eat dead or dying insects.
    A

The Roach Control #2 would not be the best option for you because Demon WP cannot be used in a greenhouse. We would recommend using a Roach Control Kit. The Invict Gold and Gentrol Point Sources can be used inside greenhouses. The Gentrol Point Sources will be used to stop the roaches from reproducing which will take care of the small roaches you are seeing. Lizards and toads are not on the label so we would recommend contacting the manufacturers to make sure they will not harm these animals. If you are wanting to spray an insecticide around your greenhouse, we would recommend using Stryker Multi-Use Insecticide. It is not labeled to be used on any type of edibles but can be used on greenhouse plants. According to the label, you should not spray more than once a day.

    Q
I was told to use diatomatus earth (food grade) for fleas.
I found it also works for roaches. How long do I wait to reapply? Thing I like is that it being food grade, if the dogs or I get an accidental dose, we don't get sick. We are being overrun by roaches and I need to give them a good dose of something. I may have to go buy some more DE.
    A

Using a bellow hand duster to apply Diatomaceous Earth in wall voids, cracks and crevices where roaches like to hide will treat for roaches. Diatomaceous Earth needs to be reapplied frequently or when the infestation reappears. When treating for roaches, we recommed using one of our Roach Control Kits. THese kits contain the necessary products to do a full treatment for roaches. You can read about our Roach Control kits here. Our most popular Roach Control Kit is our Roach Control Kit #2. Please read below for details on this kit.

Will the Roach Control Kit #2 work for an outside roach problem? They look like oriental roaches.
We have a roach problem outside near a large pine tree on the side of our house(removing many barrels of pine needles helped) and in our garage - the pine tree is near it (we haven't found them in the house yet). Will the bait and the IGR stations work if placed outside in the sun and rain? Where should they be placed? We do have a pest company spray the exterior monthly with Tengard.
    A
For outdoor control you can use Demon WP but the IGR that comes with the kit is not effective outdoors. Instead you should consider using Demon WP mixed with Nyguard IGR and apply to the infested areas.

    Q
What is best product for giant flying cockroaches? I want a spraying machine.
They come from my bathroom air vent in my ceiling and under my bathroom sink at the water pipes in my wall.
    A
We would recommend using our Roach Control Kit # 2. It contains Demon WP, which is an insecticide that you mix with water. You will spray this along the baseboards and cracks and crevices indoors. This can also be used outdoors around the perimeter of your home. Demon WP is applied with a pump sprayer. The kit also comes with Gentrol Point Sources which stop the roaches from reproducing. Gentrol Point Source Stations will treat up to 75 square feet, but more stations may be used for heavy infestations or when many treatment areas are enclosed, such as in cabinets. Keep Gentrol Point Source device a minimum distance of 3 feet from exposed food in food-handling establishments. The last item the kit comes with is Invict Gold Roach Bait gel. This can be placed in cracks and crevices where roaches may hide or enter your home. Some of these areas include areas where baseboards are peeling away from the wall, cracks in and around equipment and appliances such as stoves, sinks, dishwashers, refrigerators and walk-in coolers, hollow table legs, areas where pipes come through walls, cracks between construction elements, around electrical boxes, cracks around hinges, where cabinets meet walls and cracks leading into wall, ceiling or floor voids.

    Q
Roaches seem to be coming into the kitcher via the sewer. What product can be applied direct to the sewer?
    A
It is rare that you would ever have roaches truly coming from your drain pipes. Most of the time when people see roaches coming out of their drain, it is only ones that have crawled down into it from your sink first and are then re-emerging. Unless you have a cracked pipe either in your home or somewhere in the sewage line for the city that leads into your home, the source is elsewhere. Unfortunately, there is not a single insecticide product that can be applied to drains, pipes, or sewers. The best way to treat for roaches is to attack it full on before it becomes a huge infestation as they can reproduce quickly. We suggest using our Roach Control Kit #2 as this has everything you will need to completely eliminate all of the roache that are there as quickly as possible. The products in the kit provide you with two different poisons that they will take back to the colony you dont see to eliminate them at the source, as well as a birth control that will halt the growth of the colony until they die from the other products. You can also review our guide on How To Get Rid of German Roaches for tons of helpful information for controlling this species effectively. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

How to treat for German roaches in tricky places...
The German roaches seem to like doors best. I find them collected along the top or sides of the shut door and when I open it they scatter in all directions. This is especially bad in the entry doors but also in interior doors that are not opened regularly. Any suggestions on how to treat these areas with pesticides? I do have on hand Demon WP and Suspend SC. I have tried spraying Cy Kick which will kill on contact but is supposed to have residual effect but I'll find roaches in the same place happy and alive a week later.
    A

Demon WP and Cy-Kick Aerosol will treat roaches but we do not recommend that these products be used as the sole treatment for this species of roaches. We recommend that you use our Roach Control Kit #1 in addition to a residual spray like Demon WP for indoor treatment of german roaches.

For around the door frames you can spray either the Demon WP or Suspend SC, the roaches can still be seen there but they will die after contacting the area that either product was applied to.

Does the Roach Control Kit #2 product work on Asian roaches?
I've been paying a pest control company for 2 years to treat my place and still have both Asian and German roaches. What is your recommendation?
    A

Roach Control Kit # 2 is labeled for German and American roaches. We would recommend using Advion Roach Bait Gel. It is labeled for Asian and German roaches, as well as various other types as well. You will use 3-5 spots per 10 linear feet for heavy infestations and 1-3 spots for a light to moderate infestion. We would still recommend the Gentrol Point Sources. They are a birth control for the roaches and will stop them from laying eggs. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
