    What kills torpedo grass in St Augustine turf?
    A

    St. Augustine is very sensitive turf species and torpedo grass is very hard to treat. We apologize, but we are not aware of a product that will treat torpedo grass and not harm St. Augustine turf.  You may want to consider spot treating with RoundUp and then reseed/resod the treated areas.

    With the Roundup QuikPRO this product generally will start working within seven days of application. The type of weeds sprayed will depend on how long they take to die.

    Do I need to drill holes in Wisteria stump to apply?
    Stump is wrapped around a River Birch and I am not allowed to kill this tree.
    A
    If you want to selectively kill something then you would want to drill holes into the stump or use the cut stump method.  This means you cut the stump to expose fresh pulp and immediately treat.  You may want to try a brush and stump killer product like Fertilome Brush and Stump Killer.

    What to use when trying to eliminate Bahiagrass in my Centipede lawn?
    A
    Due to how similar the two turf blends are when being affected by herbicides, there is not one that will remove bahiagrass from the centipede lawn without also hurting the centipede. The best methods are to spot treat with a product like RoundUp QuikPro and then reseed heavily with centipede to try and smother out any chance of the bahiagrass creeping back in.

    Round up Quick Pro packets, the manufacture date printed, is it when it was made or expiration?

    The dates you see on the Round Up Quick Pro packets are the Release date or date they were made. The shelf life if kept in a cool dry area is 3 years.

    How do I mix Roundup QuikPRO to be applied with a hose end sprayer?
    A
    Yes, QuikPRO 1.5 oz packs can be used in a hose end sprayer.  However, you would only want to use a hose end sprayer if you wanted to kill all vegetation in a large area.  You must be careful when applying this product so it does not get on any plant or grass that you do not want to kill.  Also be attentive to over-spray when applying QuikPRO on a windy day. Please refer to the product label to apply the usage rate needed for your use.

    How can I kill torpedo grass without killing my centipede lawn?
    A

    Unfortunately, most of the herbicides will only suppress the torpedograss for a short time, but will not kill it completely. It is recommended to spot treat the torpedo grass with a non-selective herbicide such as Round Up Quick Pro and then re-seed or re-sod in those areas.

    Roundup QuikPRO kills pretty much anything you apply it to. You want to take care to read the label and especially to make your application on a day with less wind.

    What do you use to get rid of carpetgrass?
    A

    Unfortunately, we do not have a selective herbicide to kill carpetgrass in another turfgrass. You can use a non-selective herbicide such as RoundUp QuikPro to spot treat the carpetgrass and then reseed or resod as needed in any bare spots.

    How long will the aera sprayed stay dead
    A
    RoundUp QuickPro is only going to last 2 weeks in the soil. It is only meant to kill the weed it is applied to, so repeat appliations might be necessary. In order to prevent before the weeds emerge, you will want to look at applying a pre-emergent before germination. Depending on the weeds your are trying to treat, there are some pre-emergents you can apply in the fall, but most are applied in Feb/March before spring. We recommend contacting your Master Gardener for assistance on the best time of year to apply pre-emergents and post emergents in your county.

    Which herbicide would work best for me?
    I would like some information on which Herbicide would work best for me. I live in the mountains in northern VA and I would like to know what will kill pretty much whatever I spray. I have fences and really steep banks that have grass, weeds, small bushes and some brush. Would also like to know how many gallons it makes and if it is pet and animal safe

    What is the shelf life of Roundup QuikPRO after mixing?
    I like to have a bottle of weed killer on hand for the occasional weed that pops up.

    Once mixed the shelf life of Round Up Quick Pro is only 24 hours so any mixed solution would need to be used in that time frame for effectiveness and to avoid any issues with clogging or corroding your sprayer.

    I live in Jax, Florida and I need a spreadable product to get rid of dollar weed.

    We carry Roundup Quick Pro and Ranger Pro Herbicides. Glyphosate, the active ingredient in both Roundup and Ranger, is a non-selective herbicide that should be used with caution. Do not allow glyphosate spray mist to contact ornamental foliage or severe injury will occur. A cardboard shield may be used to prevent glyphosate spray from drifting to nearby ornamentals. Glyphosate is more effective when weeds are actively growing and should not be applied under drought conditions. As with all pesticides, read and follow all label instructions and precautions. For all over lawn treatments we recommend contacting your Local Cooperative Extension Office for advice.

    What can be used to remove bermudagrass from my Bahia Grass lawn?
    I live in west coast central florida. I have a bahia lawn that was really nice, then a type of bermuda has pretty much taken over. is there anything i can do to get my lawn back? Thanks in advance.

    Unfortunately, there are not a lot of options out there for removing bermuda grass from bahia lawns, as these are very similar grasses.  Typically, anything that will kill the bermuda will also harm the bahia.   It is usually recommended to spot treat the bermuda as much as possible with a product like Roundup QuikPro, and then replant with bahia in those areas in a couple of weeks when the bermuda is gone.

    How much coverage will the 1.5 oz. packet of Roundup QuikPRO - 5 x 1.5 oz. provide?

    Each 1.5 oz. pack of Roundup QuikPRO makes 1 gallon of spray solution. For most applications, 1 gallon of mixed product will cover 1,000 square feet.

    Is there a non-selective herbicide that will control bamboo?

    You can use Round Up QuickPro at the highest listed usage rate to help eliminate bamboo. You will be required to cut the bamboo down to a short stump and then apply the Round Up QuickPro. It can take several applications to achieve the desired results.
