    Q
What is the shelf life of Roundup QuikPRO after mixing?
I like to have a bottle of weed killer on hand for the occasional weed that pops up.
    A

Once mixed the shelf life of Round Up Quick Pro is only 24 hours so any mixed solution would need to be used in that time frame for effectiveness and to avoid any issues with clogging or corroding your sprayer.

  • Asked by John from Ithaca, Ny

    Q
Can I use RoundupQuikPro on flower beds and not kill the plants?
I was going to spray the RundUp QuickPro now and then sprinkle PREEN after the RoundUp QuickPro dries. Any harm in doing this to flower beds?
    A
You may spray undersirable weeds and grass that are in flower beds with the RoundUp Quick Pro safely as long as you are careful to not get any overspray on desirable flowers and plants. Be sure to perform a direct application to undesirable weeds and grasses and perform this application on a calm day without any wind. Once the application of the RoundUp QuickPro dries it is perfectly safe to apply pre-emergents to prevent regrowth of undesirables.

    Q
Need herbicide to kill broadleafs in Blueberry and Blackberry
Hello, I'm looking to apply herbicide for my blueberry and blackberry plants. I'm leaning towards Mesotrione or Carfentrazone. I'm looking to control post emergence broadleafs and fescue
    A
The main product used for weeds or unwanted plants in an edible garden is a Roundup type product, like our RoundUp QuickPro product.  Roundup Professional products do not leave a residual that could possibly be soaked up by the roots of your garden.  Of course you do not want to get the RoundUp product on any plants you want to keep.  You should only direct it at the weeds you want to get rid of.

  • Asked by Adam from Daphne, Al
    12/14/2014
    Q
How close to my centipede grass yard should I spray this product?
I want to use as a barrier herbicide between my yard and field in my backyard. Worried that it will seep into the soil and kill grass nearby.
    A
Roundup QuikPRO is not volatile in the soil which means that it does not move in the soil and stays exactly where it was sprayed. As long as you do not get any over-spray on any untargeted grass/plants foliage then those untargeted grass/plants will not be harmed.

    Q
What is the best herbicide to kill torpedograss in a Floratam lawn?
    A

Torpedo Grass is hard to treat. We are not aware of a product that will treat Torpedo and not harm St. Augustine. You may want to consider spot treating with RoundUp and reseed/resod. You may also contact the Master Gardener with the Cooperative Extension located in your county. You can find the County Extension Office here

  • Asked by Scott from Middletown Nj

    Q
    Will Roundup QuikPRO kill spurge?
    A

Yes, RoundUp QuikPro is labeled to kill annual, prostrate, and spotted spurge per the product label.

Per the sidenote mentioned at the bottom of page 9, “for spotted spurge and prostrate spurge, use nozzles that ensure thorough coverage of foliage and treat when weeds are in an early growth stage.”

  • Asked by Tim from Kaukauna, Wisconsin
    08/18/2018
    Q
Is there anything that will kill Quackgrass in Kentucky Bluegrass? What do you recommend?
    A

Quackgrass, unfortunately, is so closely related to Kentucky Bluegrass that most products that will kill quackgrass will also severely damage, if not kill the KBG. The common recommendation is to kill the quackgrass with a glyphosate product like Roundup QuikPRO and then reseed with KBG. You might also check with a master gardener or local landscaping company in your area for their best recommendations on products that they have used successfully.

    Q
How do I get rid of Fescue in KBG?
    A

We do not carry a product that will take Fescue out of Kentucky Blue Grass.  Unfortunately those grasses are so closely related that you cannot selectively remove the fescue with any product that we are aware of.  Your best option in this scenario is to kill the fescue with a Roundup Quikpro (glyphosate) product and then re-seed with your KBG.

    Q
Does Roundup QuikPro kill poa annua?
    A

Roundup QuikPRO - 5 x 1.5 oz. packs is a non-selective herbicide, so it will kill any grass or weeds it is applied to including poa annua. If you are targeting poa annua in a lawn you may want to go with a selective herbicide labeled for its control in warm season grass lawn types, or if you have a cool season grass lawn such as fescue or bluegrass you will need to carefully spot treat with a product like this.

    Q
Will Dismiss NXT Herbicide kill torpedograss in Centipede and St. Augustine lawns?
    A

No, Dismiss NXT Herbicide is not labeled for torpedograss.

Since torpedograss is so closely related to St. Augustine and Centipede turfgrass, there is not a selective post emergent that would kill torpedograss without also injuring/killing your lawn. We would recommend using a non selective herbicide like Roundup Quick Pro to spot treat and kill the Torpedograss directly then reseeding or resodding the area after 2 weeks. .

  • Asked by Roberta from Santa Rosa New Mexico
    08/28/2021
    Q
Can Roundup QuikPRO 1.5 packs be used in a hose end sprayer?
    A

Roundup QuikPRO - 5 x 1.5 oz. packs is a non selective herbicide and will kill turfgrass, flowers, bushes, trees and shrubs therefore is not recommended to be used in a hose end sprayer and should be applied as direct spray applications using ground broadcast equipment, backpack or handpump sprayers.

Per the Hand Held Sprayer Chart on page 3 of the product label, the mix rate is 1.2 to 1.5 oz per gallon of water depending on if you are targeting annuals, perennials or brush weeds.

    Q
How long does Roundup QuikPRO take to control weeds after spraying?
Mostly use around sidewalks and driveway and wondering how long will it control the weeds?
    A

RoundUp QuickPro can take up to 3 weeks to completely kill weeds depending on the type of weed, soil temperatures, air temperatures, rate applied, etc. This product is only going to kill actively growing weeds and does not have any pre emergent qualities. It will only remain in the soil for about 2 weeks.

    Q
Are the areas treated with Roundup QuikPRO harmful if my dog were to get into the area after I spray?
    A

Per the product label, keep livestock and pets out of the areas until the application of Roundup QuikPRO has completely dried.

This product is considered to be relatively nontoxic to dogs and other domestic animals; however, ingestion of this product or large amounts of freshly sprayed vegetation may result in temporary gastrointestinal irritation. Refer to pages 4 – 5 on the product label for more information.

    Q
What herbicide product will kill nimblewill in a zoysia lawn?
    A

Unfortunately, the only method to kill nimblewill in zoysia is to spot treat the weed areas with Roundup. This will need to be done multiple times to completely kill the weed.  Then it is recommended to reseed the bare areas.

  • Asked by Bennie from Vicksburg, Ms
    06/22/2018
    Q
Is there a product that kills dallasgrass that's safe for use on St. Augustine grass lawns?
    A

Unfortunately there are no products available (that we carry or others carry) that will kill the Dallisgrass without killing the surrounding St. Augustine grass. The best option once it has emerged is to either spot spray or wipe on something like Round Up Quick Pro, or hand dig up the clumps of dallisgrass down to the root system and re-seed.
